Chapter 3

All of a sudden it was quiet; those two voices are no longer dispute, I try to move my hands, but the bond is even stronger, I couldn’t breathe because I had a cloth over my head, I could feel the sweat drip from my forehead to my face.

I was shocked to hear that the sounds of a loud bang of a door, once again a familiar fear returned to my chest, I pretended to be as unconscious as I could; I heard the approaching footsteps coming softly in a pair of boots that hit the old wooden floor.

I wanted to cry, but I restrained myself and my feelings are getting worse.

My eyes widened when I felt someone holding me, I could barely scream when he lifted me up, I feel his muscular body and strong hands.

‘Where is he going to take me?’ I thought.

I feel like we’re coming out of a room or house, all of a sudden I could feel the cold breeze.

I just felt like he was slowly lowering me, until my back felt the hard floor.

I heard a horse nearby, I’m almost cursed when I felt the floor was moving, it was running speed, I heard rattles and running of a horse, only now did I realize that we were in an old farm cart, I was dizzy on the trip, because my body was rolling inside the old wagon, I didn’t know what kind of balance I would make just to make me feel comfortable, but I couldn’t.

It took about an hour before the old farm cart stopped; there I just breathed a sigh of relief.

Again I felt like he was carrying me.

He stopped walking.

“Is that what you say before, a new product?”

My eyes narrowed beneath the rugged cloth that covered my whole face when I heard a woman’s thunderous voice, as if she were trying to make a beautiful voice in front of this guy who’s carrying me right now.

“Yes, she is.”

“You need to quick, get her inside.”

‘No!’ I’m screaming in my mind.

He obeyed.

I felt sudden warmth around me.

As if many people around me, there were female voices talking, laughing and some are crying.

“Just enter her into the room and put her in the bed.”

To what the woman said, there was never a second that I could feel my back on the not so soft bed.

I heard the door closing, I just felt a pull on the clothe that covered my face, I was momentarily blinded because my eyes were still adjusting to the light

“Hello, there, young lady.”

As my eyes adjusted, I could see her face completely, her face was wearing thick make-up and thick red lipstick, she was smiling at me that’s why I’m seeing the red lipstick stained on her left side down teeth, her curly black hair was tied in messy bun style, some string of her hair was resting on her shoulder and looks like she doesn’t matter of what look she has right now.

To her fat body, as if the weight of her off-shoulder gown was heavy to her, fitted corset that looks like her breast pressed too much, I don’t know if she can breathe properly.

‘Who are you?’ I asked her but because my mouth was still covered the sounds comes out look like this, “arhmmm ahmmmm hummmmm?”

She laughed as she looked at me, theirs amused in her eyes.

“Gustavo, you shall remove the covering from her mouth?” She’s talking to someone while her head bend over to the door.

The door opened and a man of a great stature entered, I was amazed and scared at the same time because his arms and legs were so long, as if he were weighed down by his shoulders wide so he was a giant to me, I don’t know where he came from or where he had sewed his big clothes and longs pants, he looked like giant from the carnival.

I didn’t know if he was angry or what because I couldn’t see any expression on his face.

I felt like running away when he came up to me and went behind; I was slightly hurt when he aggressively removed the clothes covered from my mouth, and that’s the hint.

“Who are you people?”

I followed Gustavo’s gaze until he came out, the only two of us remained in the room.

“Who are you miss, where am I and what do you want from me?”

I tried to force my voice out of fear, but my voice was almost swollen.

“Do you know who am I?” I asked her again.

“I don’t know who you are or where you came from the important is you safe now,” she said.

“I don’t feel safe here, this is wrong, it’s against the law of Amedil, and if you don’t want the council to punish you bring me back to the palace!” I said with my full authoritative voice, “let me go, before anything bad happen to you.”

She barely came and stared at me intently. She narrowed her eyes while looking at me.

“Law of Amedil? Bad happen to me, council and palace? Sarcastically asked and smirked. “Who are you to send me young lady?”

I could see the red lipstick stained on her teeth clearly and I can smells like salty saliva and laundry.

“I’m princess and crown queen of Amedil.”

Suddenly she froze because of my answer.

Even myself suddenly I froze and I waited for her reaction.

All of a sudden, she laughed too much as if she heard some kind of old jokes from me, I was shocked on her reaction, is there anything funny of being a princess of Amedil?

“You---” While pointing her index finger to me and her one hand placing on her stomach like she couldn’t breathe easily because of laughed, “---of all people who came in is the most hilarious excuses just to let you go. To tell you prankly your beautiful young lady, you have perfect hair,” while she touched for a second my hair, “you have a white and fair skin but your face is common here in Avalon, you might look like a princess in Amedil and I don’t know where is that place or I don’t know if that existed, your just slave in my eyes, young lady.”

I scared of what I’ve heard.

“What did you say?” Fear in all my system, I feel it.

“Just rest young lady,” she would have turned back away when she came back in front of me, “my name is Ms. Cursvole at your service.”

Then she turned and left me alone in the room, she close the door and all I could do was cry and ask for help.
