Chapter 2

The council seem couldn’t believe according to their reaction, I heard them murmured, saying things against on my idea, councillor Dalton raised his hand and everyone was quiet, he look at me with disbelieved.

“You have the right ages to became a ruler of this kingdom, princess Germaine, and there is nothing wrong with it, there is nothing you can do because your father’s plan is to pass the crown to you and this the right time to do that, as soon as possible you need to be crown as new queen of Hassan Kingdom, the meeting is adjourned.”

I couldn’t believe their decision for me, I couldn’t not stop my anger when I returned to my room, I threw my body down on the bed, I’m not ready for this, I can’t rule the whole kingdom. I was just staring at the ceiling.

I glanced at the door when I heard a knock, the door opened and lady Monica entered, she was still wearing her funeral dress like me, I looked at her face, I could see her wrinkled face, the result of length of time she worked for our family and for the palace.

I sat.

I know she doesn’t even a family because of her dedication on her job.

“Why are you sad dear princess?” She calmly asked while touching may face, just like touch of a mother to me, warming.

I sighed.

“I don’t know what to say, I couldn’t think clearly, the council had decided that I need to be a queen as soon as possible, I don’t know when, but that’s all I know. I’m not good as my father, I’m not like him, even though he crowned king as early ages, but I don’t think that this is my destiny, I feel that I’m not belong here, that this is not my path.”

She sat down next to me, she hold my hand, saying everything is all right.

“Do they not respect me or even just my father, his funeral is just earlier?”

“You know that this is for you my princess, this is your destiny, and I know that no matter where you father is, I know that he has a great trust in you, he knows you can handle it because you’re his daughter.”

I glanced at her, seeing the smile on her face; it gives me relief, that I am not alone.

“What do you think?”

“I know you can my princess,” then she gave me a small kiss on my forehead.

I didn’t know that they would be so easy in appointing me as queen. After that meeting, they immediately called people who can organize the ceremony; they gave news for passing the throne to me to the people of Hassan and to other nearby kingdom to attend the ceremony. Everyone was busy getting things done for the ceremony; someone arranges and puts the design in the hall.

And I know everyone was excited, not because of the ceremony and the new queen but some from the richest family and in the monarchy want to show off their expensive clothes, they will talk their wealth and the places they occupied.

I was in a dress room, full of different gowns I can wear this day, my special day. There was a servant carefully trimmed, a servant came into the room and approached Lady Monica, she whispered something to Lady Monica, she just received nod before leaving the room, Lady Monica smiled at me and said goodbye before following the servants.

Someone gave me drink so that I wouldn’t be bored while taking care of me. I sip on the tea cup, until I finish what I drink.

It took about two hours to complete, they left me in the room and leave me alone, I’m wearing an off-shoulder gown touching the floor, with white corset on the top and pink skirt almost white, with the design ribbon at the back and flowers every part of the skirt, the red cape rested on my shoulder.

As I look at myself at the mirror, I felt weird around me; I held my head when I feel dizzy and blurry vision.

‘What is happening to me?’ I thought.

I slowly back away and sat down on the floor, as if slowly taking may strength.

I lay down on the floor and everything went dark.

As I half awake, I couldn’t feel my hands and my feet, I don’t where am I, I couldn’t open my eyes for no apparent reason, I don’t know where am I, I’m still weak, I just want to get some sleep, but I heard a loud noise, it was like two voices arguing and it became audible that I can clearly understand.

I finally woke up in conjunction with the fear I feel, I opened my eyes but it was so dark, I couldn’t see, I could hear the beating of my chest, very fast, now I just feel like there’s a hood or clothes something on my head, with my mouth covered, feet and hands bound with something that’s why when I’m awake I couldn’t feel them.

I froze in my position when I heard them.

“Why did you do that?”

I heard a woman’s voice.

“I have no choice; I need to do this for us, for our future.”

I heard the voice of a man who seemed desperate.

“We don’t need this, you don’t need to do this for us, and I’m fine with what we have.”

“You don’t understand me, they paid me so much to do this, and we can go far, use the money and get started.”

“I can’t enjoy the money we have that comes from bad work, by doing this you’re just betraying the entire kingdom, you took the princess and we know that she was the next queen and what you will kill her?”

My eyes widened in the dark, I couldn’t believe of what I heard from them, I am being kidnapped by whom?

My thought was screaming for help.

I don’t know what’s going on, why is this happening to me?

“That’s not your problem; I’ll take care of it.”
