CHAPTER TWELVE

Anuradha's eyes were fixed on his dreadfully while his eyes were into hers like he was adoring them. Was it a nightmare or the devil himself. She couldn't clarify anything.

As somebody shot an arrow to her, the fear rushed into her nerves within seconds. Her body began to shiver under his warm gazes as he was bored into her.

She was staring at her nightmare. He was indeed true; pure flesh and bones.

He was near, very close to her like they had seen last time. She blinked her eyes twice to confirm it.

Yes, he was here. He was her Ishan's murder. He's her rapist. And he was her son's father.

Reality kicked in her like a thunder.

She screamed and pushed him back and ran from there leaving behind an amazed Rakshit.

It seemed like, it's a dream that just happened before his eyes. It was really hard to believe him, if it's true or not. Little did he know that it's not a dream and instead it's a reality. A reality which held different faces.

Everything took him a minute to come back to his senses as he started to ask him, why did she scream and pushed him.

'Maybe she's scared.' His conscience told him. But?

If she was scared, then why would she look at him like she was analyzing he was indeed real or fake.

'Did she know me?' Rakshit stood up and slowly paced behind her.

Anuradha was running like she was trying to escape from a monster. She didn't know what was happening around her. And why did it always happen to her as well. In these years she had been hiding from this dark painful truth. Now it's come to her, for ending her little happiness and peaceful life.

Just as she was carelessly running, she collided with Rinisha who was going to search her fiancé.

“Ouch...” Rinisha held her shoulder and glaring at Anuradha.

“What the hell---” Rinisha threw a deathly glare to Anuradha who was struggling to get her breath.

“I-I am--am sorry.” Anuradha stammered. She wanted to hide somewhere before he caught her again.

“Sorry? The hell with your sorry.” Rinisha was cutting her with her blade tongue. “Don't you have eyes? Or you intentionally--”

“No, ma'am. It's my fault. I haven't seen you.” Anuradha suddenly apologized.

Rinisha was not ready to forgive her easily. She wanted to use her power on her beautiful young maid. “It's not an excuse for your carelessness. And it's not your home to do whatever you want.

“I know, ma'am. It's not happening again.” Anuradha told with her trembling lips.

“It's better you shouldn't.” Rinisha gritted her teeth. “Where did mom get such a low class idiot?

“I am sorry, ma'am. Forgive me this time. I will be careful.” Anuradha looked behind her if he was following her or not.

“Sorry, ma'am. Please forgive me.” When her eyes caught a glimpse of him, she stuttered. “I-I--I need to-go.

Before Rinisha could fire her, she ran from there.

Rinisha was looking at the retreating figure of her astonishingly.

Just as Anuradha completely cleared out from the hall, Rakshit came to Rinisha but his eyes were in search of his dream girl.

“Where is she?” He blurted out without thinking of the person next to him.

“Who?” Rinisha raised her eyebrow.

Instantly he got alarmed about his surroundings and the jealousy queen in front of him. He scratched the back of his neck in embarrassment as he couldn't get a good reason for his inquiry.

“I-I-yeah, I saw a girl running over there. And--”

“And?

“Nothing! I just saw her, and she was running over there like she's in a hurry.” He shrugged, “And by the way, who's she? I haven't seen her before? Is she your relative?

“No way! You think she's my relative? Oh my god!” Rinisha smiled at his comment. “She is our maid.

“Maid?

“Yeah, she's our maid.” Rinisha said sternly.

“I can't believe it!” He murmured to himself.

“Why not? I think you haven't seen her well. If you did, then you wouldn't.” He narrowed his eyes at her. “She is young, that doesn't mean she can't be a maid. She is doing this to look after her son and old mother.

“She has a son?

“Yes, she has and often she takes him here. And what was his name, um--Ve--Ve--”

“Vedant!

“Something like that and how did you know?” Rinisha asked.

Rakshit turned around without giving a reply to her. 'She has a son' that was repeating in his mind like he told himself to stay away from her or vanished his forbidden wishes.

His mind didn't allow him to accept the truth such as she's his dream girl and the same girl happened to be a maid of his fiancée and not only that she was already taken by someone and had a son too.

His dream shattered into pieces like broken mirrors. It's not like he would marry her when he had realized she was his dream girl. But yet, something was killing him inside as she didn't belong to him.

When Anuradha came back home where Ved and Avantika were all ready to celebrate Diwali, wearing new clothes and lighting lamps.

Anuradha walked unconsciously before them without even sparing a glance to her son. It seemed that she was in a trance. And she definitely didn't get over the shock.

“Ma!” Vedant caught her hand. “Ma, see we lighted all lamps here. Come I will show you.” She looked down to her son. A son she got from him; from a rape. And the same son became the memory of his sins; and her disaster.

Abruptly she backed away from him, making him look at her dumbfounded.

Just as her eyes merged with the little ones. Her face went pale and her heart beat increasing as her haunting memories rushed back to her. His face resembles his father.

Now he seemed so much like his father. She couldn't look at him anymore, so she averted her gaze from her son.

“Ma!” Vedant called. “Come, we have to celebrate Diwali together.” Anuradha didn't say anything or dare to look at him back. She looked at Avantika.

Avantika was there looking at her daughter. She seemed to notice something was wrong with her as she was behaving out of mind.

“Ma, take care of him. I want to be alone.” Anuradha walked to her room ignoring her son's pleading. He wanted his mother and he to celebrate Diwali together. His little heart broke in her avoiding nature.

Anuradha slid into her room and closed the door behind her. She closed her eyes as well to let her to sink in her memories.
