CHAPTER ONE

Raindrops falling like glass pearls from the edges of leaflets to the lawn, the cold breeze flowing in the park, where two loving souls sitting on a bench, enjoying the beauty of the night after the rain.

“Um...you know what, Ishaan...” Anuradha raised her head off of his shoulder and looked up to his eyes, love was clearly evident in them.

“I love rain, it's really beautiful like you.” His mind did a happy dance. He knew that she loved rain.

“I know,” he smiled at her. She was waiting for him to continue, “I have been with you since our childhood then how could I forget my little Anu is a rainy girl.” Her giggles flew into the cold air, “And moreover I'm your best friend and a boyfriend too.

Anuradha detached herself from his warm embrace and stood up, “Really? You're my boyfriend? I don't think so.” She folded her hands across and looked down at him.

Ishaan chuckled, she was still a baby. Before he could bring his hand to hold her she shoved it away, “Anu... don't be a child.” He also stood up and made her face to him, “I am your boyfriend, no?

“Nope!” She shook her head, but her lie made him smile. He pinched her nose, “You're so cute when you're lying.” She narrowed her eyes at him but her lips curved upwards as he started tickling her. Both of them began laughing like maniacs.

Albeit she was laughing with him she acknowledged about her word; it's not a complete lie. She has liked him since their childhood. He was the only one who had been always with her. She was a feisty and cute little rowdy girl like a storm, while he was a calm disposed nature boy like a cool breeze. They're quite opposed to each other, but they were commonly connected to one thing; their innocence. She was like a fire, and he was like a lamp, but they're producing one thing but in different ways. But their love story wasn't a typical one. They've been friends since their childhood, and they're still friends and would always be. They hadn't even had a romantic moment together. And not even shared an 'I love you'. They thought they were perfect for each other; honestly they're. So they decided to give a chance to their relationship and accepted as boyfriend and girlfriend to each other. But yet, something was missing between them, maybe a spark of true love. Although she liked everything about him, the way he solved each trouble was made by her. And the way he tried to convince her and help her to choose right and wrong, everything she liked about him. He had been with her when she needed him. But then, she was not sure about whether it's her true love or not. Nevertheless, she believed he was the one for her. What she could ask more than him. He was a true gem.

“Now tell me, Anu. Who am I?” Ishaan wrapped his arms around her while her hands on his chest. “Just a friend or boyfriend?” He was waiting for her reply.

Anuradha thought for a second and smiled, “You're my friend and boyfriend as well, but...you didn't propose to me yet.” She pouted like a child.

“Propose? That's too dramatic, Anu.” Ishaan warmly touched her chin,

“I don't think a proposal would make any changes in our life.” She pushed his hands away and turned around, he is always like this. “But... I try this for my stubborn love,” she instantly turned around and looked down to Ishaan who was kneeling down in front of her.

Anuradha cupped her cheeks herself in surprise as Ishaan held out a ring in his hand and pointed towards her.

“Ishaan! You---” he signaled her to stop.

Just as about to begin his well-prepared speech, a whistle uninvitedly came between them. Completely ruined their romantic moments.

“ANURADHA KHANNA AND ISHAAN MEHRA!” Their eyes involuntarily searched the intrusive voice.

There were five men aiming over to them who were the seniors of their college. When they got a glimpse of the manly figures Anuradha held his hand tightly.

“Ishaan, what are they doing here?” Anuradha blurted out.

“I don't know, Anu. Maybe something...” Ishaan looked at her,

“Ok let's go.

Before Ishaan and Anu could pass them, one of the guys stopped them.

“Where do you think you are going? We're coming for you.

Anuradha took a glance at them, the five men were the infamous bad boys of their college. She was aware about each of them, especially the one who was looking over to her with raging eyes. She knew exactly what's the reason behind it.

“Well, you guys are enjoying here...alone.

Another one looked around and asked, “This is your love nest, no?

“Ok then, we must go.” Ishaan excused.

“No, no, no. We haven't finished yet.” Another one cracked a sinister smile.

“Ishaan...let's go,” Anuradha could feel the situation was getting worse. Though she was a strong girl, she could feel the fear rising inside her. She and her boyfriend were left alone with five men in the night and not to mention that they were the most dangerous men.

Ishaan wrapped a hand over her shoulder and began to move.

“Hey, that's not fair.” Someone caught her hand and pulled her away from Ishaan's protection. “We are here to celebrate,” he threw Anuradha into his friends. She was suddenly caught by two men.

“Leave her! What are you doing?” Ishaan protested, but it suddenly ended with a hard punch to his jaw.

“No!” Anuradha tried to run towards him, but she was held back by two strong men. “No...please don't...” She shouted.

The three men started to beat him like an animal. Ishaan couldn't fight back himself as he was getting beaten up by them.

“Leave him...please,” she cried. Just as her tears drenching her eyelashes, rain came again and began soaking the all creatures there.

As the rain got heavier the boys decided to leave them, they looked at each other and stopped their beating. “I think it's enough.” One of them said.

Ishaan was trying his hardest to get breath properly. He was an asthma patient. He couldn't take situations like this. His hands unconsciously wandered for his inhaler; but unfortunately he had forgotten to bring it.

Anuradha was looking down at him as he was crawling on the soil just trying to get up. She knew that he was an asthma patient, she could see he was trying his hardest to keep up with his life.

Just as she couldn't take this anymore, she kicked one of the men's legs and bit the other one hand. Abruptly they released her, she ran over to Ishaan. Before she could bring herself to him, she was grabbed by someone.

“Let me go! He needs me,” she cried. Ishaan's condition is getting worse.

The man who was holding her caught her hand tightly and turned to his friends, “I will be back after finishing this.” He was looking at her, she was fighting with her other hand. Her small fist didn't make any effects on him. “I am going to give her a lifelong reward.

The man's friends looked at each other and nodded to him, “Have fun.

The four men left the place as they're told by their friend.

The night was supposed to be the best moment of their life but it turned out to be the worst night ever they had. Ishaan couldn't keep himself awake as he could feel all his organs going to be shut down. He had seen her at last time before he was going to fall into the deepest sleep.

Anuradha was dragged by the man near to a car. He pushed her inside the back seat along with him and closed the door behind them. There Ishaan was fighting with his life while Anuradha was fighting with a beast who was wearing a human's skin. It's raining heavily outside. Her cries were swallowed by the rain that was falling like a disaster. Indeed, it's a disaster, everything is going to end in the rain as her smile, life and love and every single thing. Nothing was going to be like before.
