The day before the Beginning (Part 2)

Hello! Sorry for the long wait on part 2. I have so many things to do and have little time to complete, so I try my best to update as fast as I can. Also, Nicholas will have a short POV of when he started college, but he is originally a sophomore while Madison is a freshman. Please don't get bored just yet, I promise thing will get more exciting. I appreciate all of you and your support. Thanks!

Nicholas POV:

My first year of college had me feeling like I was lost.

My family were so far away from me, my friends went somewhere else for college, and starting off, the students here were to formal for me.

I didn't have issues with getting bullied, but I never had that many friends.

I only want friends that actually care and love me for myself, and have some of the same interests I do.

This was hard to accomplish, though.

Everyone at this college were either too smart, or too dumb.

Every once in a while, my family would call me to see how I was doing in college, not enough but when they did call, there was never any 'I love you's or support in the way I was looking for it.

They would ask how I am doing, and I would be honest with them but they use it as a reason for them to be right about me attending Stanford.

Whether I had friends or not here, I still came for a better opportunity in life.

After I get out of school, I would like to start my own business and do something big with my life.

My hometown was just a reminder of how messed up my life was back then.

A few months before my freshman year ended, I found my crew. It was me, Justin, Caleb, and Andrew.

We were known as the champs at college. We all were football players, Justin was the quarterback, while Andrew, Caleb and I were the tight ends.

During the end of college, I decided to join football where I met my crew.

We would hang out almost every night, and in the last months of freshman year, we all became good friends.

It was only the 4 of us.

Not only did I have 3 best friends, I also became very popular in college.

We went to parties almost every single night if we could.

Every girl I passed swooned over me and my crew, but they were always the same.

As long as you were popular, they wanted you. They are nothing but flies to me, except for Rebecca.

Rebecca Patterson was a freshman I met in college.

I was at the library studying for this upcoming test when I saw her reading a book about lawyers.

She was beautiful.

She had dark brown wavy mid back length hair and hazel eyes.

She was like an angel sent from heaven, and absolute delightful.

I would visit the library almost every day, just to see her.

Eventually we started talking, became friends, and soon became lovers.

Like I said, my first few months of college were lonely, but eventually, everything was perfect for me.

Today was the last day I would be a freshman in college. This year I would be a Sophomore at Stanford, and the first day starts tomorrow.

Walking out from my shower, I heard my phone start ringing. Heading towards my dresser where I placed my phone, I answered the phone. It was Andrew.

"Hey, what's up man?" I asked him.

"Hey dude, where are you?" He asked me.

"At home" I replied.

"Oh, well me and the boys are hanging out at Justin's place to celebrate tomorrow. Wanna Join?" He asked.

"Yea, I'll see you in a bit."

"Alright man, see ya!" He said before cutting the line.

Getting dressed in a white tee and denim ripped jeans, I left my apartment and headed towards Justin's house.

Madison POV:

Waking up early this morning with my alarm, I showered and got dressed.

Today was the day before the first day of college, and I still had to get fully prepared for tomorrow.

I put my hair in a side braid, and got dressed in a simple white sweater and jeans.

The weather was warm in the afternoon, but chilly in the morning.

My phone started ringing while I was tying my shoes.

Walking towards my phone, the incoming call had already ended.

I checked my phone and saw it was my mom, so I quickly called back.

She answered on the second ring.

"Hey Mom" I said.

"Hey baby, how was yesterday? I knew you were tired, so I decided I would just call you today." She replied.

"San Francisco was beautiful. I decided to stay at that hotel we viewed back in Oklahoma." I told her.

"Oh that's great! You will have to view the city and get used to it when you have the time."

"Yea I plan on it sometime. Today, I have to go to the campus and get everything settled for tomorrow's first day." I explained.

"I am so proud of you and your accomplishments. We all love you and the fam asked about you."

"Thank you Mom, you, dad, and my brothers taught me well. I love you guys too, and tell them I said hey."

"I sure will, and we will come to visit as soon as we can, you still have to settle first though."

"I'm working on it, but sounds great. I love you, and now I gotta go!" I told her in a hurry.

I have to leave now if I don't want to be late. I woke up almost an hour after my alarm went off.

"Ok sweetie,  love you too, take care" She told me.

Once disconnecting the phone call, I grabbed my purse and left the hotel I was staying at.

I headed to Stanford University, where I would be meeting with the Academic Personnel.

After arriving to the campus, I arranged tomorrow, all my courses, and a few other pieces of information for my first day of college.

Everything went smooth, and the day went by fast.

By the time I knew it, I was finished with everything regarding college.

Leaving campus, I remembered about the visit around the city I was planning on doing.

I always wanted to view this city. California is beautiful.

I decided to view the city, and look around the place, as well as doing some shopping.

Getting used to this place seemed likely.

Everything is new for me, but in a beautiful city like this, I think i'll manage.

It was almost 9 at night when I returned back to my hotel room.

Tomorrow was a day I wouldn't want to be late for, so I quickly washed up and got ready for bed.

Walking out of the bathroom, I found a comfortable outfit to put on.

It was a long t-shirt with a matching pair of fluffy grey sweats.

Almost an hour later, I was ready to go to sleep.

Getting into bed, I quickly got comfortable in my covers and found myself exhausted.

I never knew how tiring today was until I finally got to rest.

Hopefully, tomorrow is a good day for me.

But you never know. Guess i'll have to find out.

Resting my mind, I almost instantly fell into a deep slumber,

slowly sleeping away the hours and diving into tomorrow.

Hello Again!
Sorry for the normal chapter. The next chapter will be the first day of college for both Madison and Nicholas. Things will continue to be a bit formal until the encounter between Madison and Nicholas. Every chapter before then is just to explain everything in their life from the start of college. I was debating whether to start the chapters out with their present or past, but I figured that I should start from the very beginning. Please continue reading. I only ask for your support here. Things might seem boring at first, but eventually things will become exciting for this book. I cannot give an exact chapter on when everything will start to become interesting, but I promise you I won't let you wait too long. Thank you to all the wonderful people who supported me and read my book. I appreciate every single one of you, love you guys!
