The day before the Beginning (Part 1)

The Very Beginning Of The Story.

MADISON POV:

"Maddy!" My mother called to me.

"Yess mooom!" I sleepily called back.

"Wake up honey! It's time for you to start packing for your trip to California. We were supposed to pack days ago, but you always said later.

"Yea later, i'm tireeed!"

"I don't care Maddy, you have to wake up and pack for California tomorrow! You know your first day of college is right around the corner. You only have 3 days until you start. You have to be there to get yourself settled. Sleep all you want once you are done. Sleep on the plane, but get up Madison!"

Why can't I get a break? I might be a good daughter, but I am not a morning person. Never have been and there's a huge chance I never will be. I hate waking up this early. I need my rest, I can't function without it!

"Madison Zahara Hill! Wake up please!" My mother yelled again.

I know how she gets when she has to talk to me too many times, and I don't have the energy to be in her bad mood today.

I groaned and finally got up, yawning and rubbing my sleepy eyes.

The moment I opened my eyes, the sunlight beaming from outside, directly hit my face and landed on my eyes, causing them to burn.

I groaned again and closed them, to try to ease the pain the sun caused.

After the burning sensation left my eyes, I opened them and got out of my comfortable bed.

I made my bed up, and went to the bathroom to take my shower.

The moment I felt the hot water, it immediately eased all the tension in my body.

Once I got out of the shower, I brushed my teeth and dried my long dark blonde soaking wet hair.

"Madison! Are you ready Hun?" My mom asked.

"Almost mom, I'll be downstairs in 10!" I yelled back to her.

"Okay, just hurry up. We have to be there before 3 PM!"

"Yea mom, I know!"

I didn't know what to do with my hair, it was the last thing on my mind. Instead of going all out today, I just decided to put my hair into a back bun with a few loose strands to the front.

After finishing my hair, I walked out of the bathroom to find a decent outfit to wear today.

Not over the top, nor boring. Just casual, decent, and of course, comfortable.

It has been over 5 minutes looking for the perfect outfit to wear, and I finally found it!

Today, I will wear a black cross string long sleeve crop top, with white jeans and a comfy sweatshirt.

Perfect fit for today!

"It's been over 10 minutes Maddy!" My mom yelled again the moment I finished getting ready.

"Coming Mother!"

I literally ran down the stairs to the kitchen where I knew my family was waiting for me. And just like I assumed, my parents and Michael were at the kitchen table.

"Good morning guys, Where's Tyler?" I asked looking for my other brother.

"Right here" Tyler responded from somewhere.

"Where?" I turned around and finally noticed my brother coming down the stairs.

"Oh never mind" I quickly told them.

"So how do you feel? You will be a college student in less than 3 days Maddy!" Michael beamed.

"Yes dear, how are you feeling about going to college?" My father also asked

"I am so excited, but I will miss waking up and seeing all of your lovely faces, including the warmth of our home." I told them.

"It's okay, you can talk to us everyday. We will even come visit you every few months. Things will be different after you start college, but you will always have us." My mother said.

"I know, I love you guys so much, and I wouldn't change it for a thing! You guys know just the right thing to say to make me ease when i'm insecure. Thank you!"

"Your welcome, and we love you too Sister!"

Once we finished breakfast and finished our family conversations, we all got up and helped me with my packing for college.

We packed my clothes, and toiletry bag, even though I know I won't be needing it. By the time I get to California, they all will be replaced, just for caution.

We packed some other stuff I really wanted to bring with me, including my camera to record memories of College.

"Okay, I think we are done!" I told them.

"Looks like it" Michael replied.

"Well we have been packing for hours, mostly because of your brothers slacking much, but it's almost 3, and you know you have to be there to catch your flight." My mom reminded me.

"We were not!" My brothers both said at the same time. Their reaction was so funny, I ended up laughing, which made them glare at me.

"Yea we should head out. We don't want you to miss your flight young lady." My father told me.

Eventually, my family left out of my room to get ready to drop me off at the airport. I really wish they could come with me, but I know they all have hectic schedules.

Almost 30 minutes later, we finally arrived at the airport, and It was time for me to say goodbye to my family. I will miss them so much, but I know that they will still be with me, just some hours away.

"We will miss you kiddo" Tyler told me ambivalently.

"I will miss you guys too! More than you ever will." I told him

"We love you" My family told me

Before I got on the plane, I gave my love and goodbyes.

Walking away, I headed towards the plane.

This hasn't been my first time flying in the air.

I remember when I younger, I used to go and visit my grandparents in Italy.

My father and his parents were from Catania Italy. That's also were they lived.

Me, my parents, and my brothers always used to get on a plane to go visit them.

Almost every month to be exact.

Me and my brothers were born and raised in the United States, we were American, but we also held Italian and french ethnicity.

I loved visiting my Nonna and Nonno, and I missed them very much.

They were so kind-hearted and they showed us so more amore when we visited them.

Their welcoming warmth always made me content.

My Nonno and Papa always told me I looked like like a mixed mini version of my Mamma and Nonna.

They always told me and my brothers old stories, and taught us about our Italian heritage.

Every time my mother and father told me we were going to visit them, I always rejoiced.

I also loved to watch the view from the sky. It was so beautiful and a sight to see. Unique, and special.

Looking back at all my childhood memories, I smiled and sat down in the seat that was reserved for me on the plane.

As the plane started to lift off the ground into the air, I looked out of the window and saw the beautiful blue sky decorated with big white puffy clouds.

The first few times I was on a plane, I was anxious and nauseated, full of worry and fear that something might go wrong.

Now, being in a plane eases my worries, and I enjoy every second of my flight.

Even though I would love to stay up and watch the beautiful view, I am tired so I decide to take a nap.

*Some Hours Later*

Waking up from my nap, I look out the window and see that we are almost out of the sky.

The plane is getting close to ground, which lets me know that we have arrived at the San Francisco airport.

I have not been to San Francisco before, but the surroundings are pretty amazing.

The plane has now finally landed on the ground, and a few minutes later, we start to leave the plane.

Getting out, the view is even more pretty, bright green well taken care of grass, and the runway is clean and taken care of as well.

When we were landing, it wasn't bumpy, it was smooth.

Before I left Oklahoma, me and my family already planned the flight and what to do after I land.

Following my plan, I head towards the waiting bus that is to drive us to Stanford. I think it takes an hour or 2.

*Hour and a Half Later...*

After almost 2 hours, the bus finally landed in Stanford California.

Looking at my phone, it is almost 9 at night, and the sky is already dark.

For now, my plan is to spend 3 nights at a hotel until I find a place to stay after I start college.

I decide to spend my few nights at Sheraton Palo Alto Hotel, since it is the nearest hotel to Stanford University.

I have a remaining of almost $500, so I will use half on my living expenses.

I walked into the hotel, and paid for 3 nights. After paying, one of the staff showed me to a hotel room that I would be staying at tonight and for the next few days.

The hotel room is beautiful.

It is not too big or too small. It wasn't too plain, but it wasn't over the top either.

The room was very comfortable, and perfect for me.

I went and took a shower, and once I was done, I dried my hair, got dressed, and went to bed.

My day was long, and I miss my family already.

I miss the warmth and soft noises around me.

I would have called tonight, but I am very tired, and a tomorrow is another big day for me.

College is only almost 1 day away, and I can't wait.
