After my little rendezvous with Mr Hunt, the rest of my day was obviously not going well. I was constantly thinking a way to get out of this madness but nothing seems to be a good enough reason to do so. At last, I made peace with it and decided to do what he said. What was the worse that could happen? I bet my life couldn't get any more complicated than now.

Between the contemplating and making appointments for Mr Hunt. Time flew away and it was almost lunchtime. I remembered what happened yesterday, so I rushed out as soon as the clock struck 12. And then guess what Beep! My phone was blinking, indicating that I got a notification. I closed my eyes prayed to God like for a second 'Please don't be Mr Hunt '.But then it was all in vain when I saw my phone screen that said 'New message from Devil '. I laughed at the fact, even my phone thinks he is a Devil. Okay, I saved his name like that. But who cares?! Right? I opened the message reluctantly.

Devil: You can have your lunchtime for the day. -DH

My eyes widened in surprise, can this be true? Was he turning into a decent human being? Nah.. That can't be it! Maybe this was his way of saying thank you for agreeing to go to the club with him.

Me: You don't have to add your initials, I have your number!

I typed that and sent it.

Really? That's the text to send? I face palmed myself. After a few seconds again my phone beeped.

Devil: Just because I gave you 45 mins for your break that doesn't mean you should waste it, Ms. Paxton.

I rolled my eyes, reading that text. But wait a minute, no initials! Wow, he actually listened to another human being! That's like a half win right? I smiled to myself.

Me: Alright talk soon?

Devil: I don't intend to.

Me: Bye Mr Hunt

Devil: Alright.

I get it, texting is not his strong front!

I was smiling brightly as I reached the canteen. Mia was already waiting for me. The food there looked really delicious, I got a grilled chicken sandwich and brownies for dessert and walked towards Mia's table. I was blocked on the way by a tall blond, who was looking at me seriously. She had that arrogant look on her face that the bullies in schools used to have. She had a few pansies beside her. Okay, they sure didn't look friendly. That brought back memories, well not exactly good ones. I remember in school I wasn't one of the cool kids and there the Queen Bees treated me exactly like this. But that was years ago, this can't happen now. I am the executive assistant secretary of Mr Derrick Hunt. I didn't stand up to my self back in school and I regretted it for years but this vicious circle of bullies has to end so I decided to stand up to myself.

"Can you move out of my way?" I asked moving away.

"No can do!" She said with an arrogant smirk on her face.

"Fine.. I will move away then!" I said and turned away from her.

"You can't leave until we say so!" One of her minions decided to speak now.

"What do guys want?" I asked with a fake chuckle.

"Straight to the point huh?" She gave the sting eye now.

" Fiesty!" The tall blond spoke now.

I was looking at her impatiently since I was starving and she was wasting my time.

"I am Olivia and these are my friends!" She said with the same arrogant smirk.

"I am June!" I replied.

"I know.. You are the new secretary!" She said stressing the word 'Secretary'.

"Yeah, that I am!" I replied instantly.

"Don't you think I don't know what you are trying to do! Don't you dare try anything on Ricky again!" She asked in full on bitch mode.

What the hell was she saying? And who the hell is Ricky?

"What are you talking about?" I blinked.

"Don't play dumb with me!" She said looking furious.

"Okay, I don't have time for this!" I said and started walking away.

"How dare you!" She exclaimed and caught my hand.

Hey..What's your problem? I snapped.

"You are! Following around Ricky everywhere like a lost puppy, stop it or you will regret taking the job here!" She said pointing out her index finger towards me.

She was getting on my nerves, I didn't have any clue what she was talking about?

"Listen. You!" I started with a glare.

"Why are you always craving for attention June?" I heard a slightly familiar voice from behind.

I swiftly turned to see Lisa in front of me.

"Lisa?" I gasped.

"What are you doing here?" I asked looking confused.

"I work here, I got the columnist position here three days ago !" She said with a smirk.

"That's great!" I exclaimed.

"Stop it. I not here for your fake congratulations!" She said suddenly.

"What? Why are you talking like this?" I asked looking shocked.

"You have always tried to overshadow me at work for the past five years, the only thing I was glad when the magazine was shutting down was I finally didn't have to see you and now you are here too. Why can't you just leave me alone?" She asked crossing her arms.

I gotta say I was really hurt after hearing that.

"I didn't know you thought about me like that! I didn't even know you work here!" I said trying to sound normal.

I was feeling really guilty that I made her feel like that. I never intended to make her feel like that.

"Well.. You did! And here you are to ruin my life again!" She said looking furious.

"I am really sorry!" I said holding her hands.

"I don't want any of your apologies!" She moved away.

"Now you are trying to steal someone's boyfriend too! I didn't know you were so low!" Lisa spoke with spite.

I noticed Olivia was enjoying us fighting, I am sure she ignited the fuel between us.

"What did you tell her?" I asked glaring at Olivia.

"She didn't have to tell me anything, we both saw you today with Mr Hunt in his office! " She said looking disgusted.

What the hell is wrong with them?

"And what exactly did you see?" I snapped again.

I was really done with the drama that they were making.

"The nerve you have talking to me in that tone do you who am I ?! " Olivia was giving me stink eye now.

"No, I don't! " I said looking disinterested.

"I am not some employee like you! I am the only daughter of Charles Marin, one of the board of directors Stark industries. And the person you follow around calling Mr Hunt is my boyfriend! " She said shooting me death glares.

So Ricky means Derrick? Mr Hunt had a girlfriend? Woah! This is huge!

When someone has heard something very surprising and shocking, so much that I was like a tree fixed on place, not able to move the cause of the surprise and shock. I was surprised because I never thought the devil was capable of any feelings except anger. But why was I shocked? Maybe I was shocked because he had a girlfriend. Some unpleasant feeling started creeping in when I thought more about it. Suddenly I noticed I was standing there for more than a minute without saying a word. So I started talking.

"Well.. Then you should learn to trust Mr Hunt!" I said after a long pause.

"I don't have to get a lecture about relationships from someone like you! " She said looking disgusted.

"Nothing was going on! You are having a misunderstanding! " I said trying to keep my calm.

"Stop lying!" She pushed me.

I jerked off and lost my balance and my face hit on someone. I felt a strong pair of arms holding me. I lifted my face to see who was it and He had strong arched brows and eyelashes so thick and then his eyes- they were deep and catastrophic, a vivid baby blue as a great body of water that softly melted into a milky green. This close, I could see the flecks of silver in his eyes. It was the devilishly handsome devil himself. Mr Hunt 's eyes bored into mine for a few seconds and I almost forgot I was engaged in a really heated conversation with his girlfriend just a minute ago. Then slowly his eyes shifted it's the view from me to Olivia. I stood up again on my own foot, For a second there I thought his eyes were looking at me with full of concern but it vanished really soon. Suddenly Mia came running towards me.

"June are you okay?" She asked looking worried.

"I-I am fine!" I shuttered looking at him.

He gave a curt nod at me, ignoring my gaze on him.

"What's going on here?" He asked with his familiar coldness.

"Why don't you ask her?! " Olivia snapped.

"Ms Paxton care to explain?" He asked eyeing me.

I was blinking for a second not knowing what to tell him?

"I slipped!" I said eyeing Olivia

Everyone was looking at me with surprise but Mr Hunt expression remained the same.

"Really?" He asked again looking at me.

"Yes! " I replied instantly.

"Did you slip after Olivia pushed you? Or before that?" He asked looking cool as a cucumber.

"I - I.. Umm.. " I shuttered.

"Everyone go back and have your lunch. You have already wasted your ten minutes engaging in this ridiculous chick - flick!" He said looking at me.

I didn't dare to look at him but I noticed Lisa was shooting daggers at me as she was retreating back to her table.

"Olivia? A word? " He asked looking at her.

"I am not one of your employees... You can't command me! " She snapped.

"Technically you are getting your training as an intern here so yes, you are my employee! " He said as his voice was smooth as butter that was rolled over a hot pan.

My eyes widened with surprise.

"Are you here to insult me?" She snapped again.

"Don't create a scene, love!" He said walking closer to her.

"I don't want to her in this building... Get rid of her!" She spoke with gritted teeth.

"She is not yours to remove! " He said looking firm.

"Rick..you either do it or. " She started.

"Or what? " He asked looking without blinking his eyes.

And that was followed by an awkward silence between them for more than a minute. Olivia was literally shooting death glares at me. It was like she was trying to shoot lasers with her eyes. I was standing near the loving couple awkwardly. Okay, that was sarcasm but what was I supposed to do? Lunch was officially ruined for me. Well, others had their dose of drama for the day but I was an overdose. Suddenly Mr Hunt started speaking again.

"Ms Paxton you will not dine here from tomorrow !" He said sternly.

I didn't argue with him since I didn't want to create more scene so I just nodded

"You may go now.. You still have 25 minutes to get back to my office!" He said firmly.

"Alright, Sir!" I replied and went away.

I don't know how he convinced her to go with him but after five minutes, suddenly Olivia was all lovey-dovey with Mr Hunt. Not that I cared about it. But still, I was curious how he managed to do that. I mean if the man can maintain that nut case for a girlfriend then running this whole empire is just a piece of cake for him I am sure. I was eyeing them closely as they both were holding hands and retreating towards the exit. I was trying hard to concentrate on my grilled chicken sandwich trying to get them both out of my head but it was just impossible for me. My heart was all like How can he have a girlfriend? I asked why can't he? and there was a pause and it never replied to my question. To summarize it, I had another crappy day in this hell hole. Suddenly Mr. Hunt turned to catch a glance of me before leaving that place. Again a strange kind of Deja Vu hit me when he did that, and all I could think was about Andrew when he was leaving with Kate once upon a time. Mr Hunt was toxic, all he do was stir up memories that leave my eyes with moisture.

"June.. Are you alright! " Mia asked as her eyes were full of concern for me.

"Yeah.. Why do you ask?" I asked instantly looking away.

"Um..your eyes, they were turning red! " She said looking at me.

"Uh..Yeah, it's the contacts! " I said wiping off my tears swiftly.

"Oh..okay!" She said giving a small squeeze on my hand.

"I thought you were upset about the whole situation with Olivia! " She said slowly.

"Why..would I be?" I asked swiftly.

"I know.. Mr Hunt is really nice guy he would never hurt Olivia like that, after all, they are together for more than a year now! " She said with a small smile.

I know she was trying to make me feel better but I felt she was firing bullets right through my heart. I was feeling frustrated with me for feeling like that. Everything was because of that devil. I cursed him in my mind. He always reminds me of Andrew. I immediately tried to change the subject.

"Is she always like this?" I asked her swiftly.

"Um..Yeah, she is kinda like the Queen Bee out here!" Mia said making a straight face.

"You don't say!" I rolled my eyes.

"Yeah, she joined the editorial department as an intern a year ago. She is here for training to run her own empire someday! " Mia filled me in with the gory details.

"I see.." I said looking slightly annoyed.

"So how did they get together!" I asked feeling slightly hesitant.

"Oh... They didn't! Their family made them meet years ago, kinda like a arrange mirage.. You know like in old-time princes marry princesses for their empire explanation? It's like that! " She said with excitement in her eyes.

Seriously?! People do that still?!

"Oh! " I exclaimed.

"Yeah, I wonder how that feels? " She asked me.

"I don't know.. Knowing that whole relationship was built on a business deal, that's kinda harsh! " I replied slowly.

"Why are you ruining my fantasy? It will be fun and mysterious kinda love! See..Mr. Hunt and Olivia are kind of an ideal couple, right? " She asked me suddenly.

"They are! Aren't they?" I smiled sheepishly and took a sip of my water.

"Yes and get this you don't have to search for the 'One' in case of Arranged marriages!" She said making air quotes.

"Oh..comeon you will find someone! " I chuckled.

"Yeah.. Right! Maybe after a million years! " She rolled her eyes.

"Don't so hard on yourself! " I said patting on her shoulder.

We were talking for another ten minutes to fifteen minutes and then my break was officially over. I left out a sigh and went into my office. The table was filled with paperwork well at least I didn't have to see him right now. I completed all my work for the day. But I didn't see Mr. Hunt for the rest of the day. Suddenly the phone that was on my table started ringing, I knew it was the Intercom. The caller ID said, Boss. I rolled my eyes in annoyance after seeing that.

I picked up the call swiftly.

"Hello?" I asked.

But there was no response from the other end.

"Hello?" I asked again.

"Why are still here?" He finally spoke.

"Excuse me?! " I snapped.

"It's 6'o clock, Ms. Paxton!" He said sternly.

"Yeah.. So?" I snapped again.

God.. Why am I constantly snapping at him? Was I angry with him? What was wrong with me?

"You need to be ready at 8 'o clock, we made plans do you remember?!" He said still remaining calm.

"I thought that plan was off Sir!" I replied instantly.

"Now why would you think that?" He asked slowly.

That was the first time I got a reaction that was alien to him.

"Well.. For starters, I don't think Ms. Marin will be happy about it! " I said firmly.

"Ms Paxton you work for me! You shouldn't worry about anyone else!" He spoke coldly.

There! The dragon was back on track.

"I don't think it's a good idea. Maybe you should take her!" I suggested.

"I didn't ask for your suggestion, Ms. Paxton! " He snapped this time.

"Mr Hunt.." I started.

"Don't you remember what I said when you signed that contract?" He asked.

"I must do whatever you ask me to do!" I sighed.

"Good! Now go home!" He commanded.

I mouthed D-E-V-I-L

"Ms Paxton, you do know there is a CCTV camera in your office right? " He asked, I bet He was smirking arrogantly right now.

"Right. You can pick me up at 8! Um..My address is.." I started in a rush.

"I know where you live!" He said.

Okay. Like that's not creepy at all!

"Okay then. I will leave now!" I said and hung up the phone.

I left out a long sigh and grabbed my things and went out of the office.
