Chapter 41

One month had passed, each and every day seemed to be easier than before. James and Olivia’s relationship was also working out just fine.

James moved back to Knight’s place. Both had been catching up with each other’s lives, and there had been many moments where both of them broke down, but being together only made them strong and their bond stronger.

James finally met his little brother, Cameron, who is a miniature version of him. Although at present, not only Olivia, but even James, is against the idea of telling their brother the truth. With time, yes. But not now. Now is not the right time.

Steadily and gradually, Olivia was getting back to her normal self. Maybe not completely, but something is better than nothing, right?

Olivia was sitting in Caleb’s room along with Mason and Sia when Caleb came in with the movie DVDs. “So, which movie do you guys want to watch?” he asked them while placing the DVDs on the bed.

“Umm, how about the Avengers?” Mason suggested.

“Cool,” Caleb said, and Olivia shrugged in response.

“No comments, Sia? Aren’t you going to suggest some silly chick flick?” Mason smirked.

“Nope, because I am not joining you guys for the movie.” She told them excitedly.

“Why got a hot date?” He joked.

“Actually, yes. That to within 2 hours. And, Olivia, you are helping me to get ready. Let's go.” With that, Sia left.

Her words did nothing but cause Mason's jaw to drop down. He expected anything but this.

“What? With whom?” He asked in astonishment.

“Sia had been crushing on Xander for a while now, and yesterday he finally asked her out on a date,” Olivia replied to Mason.

“Is he in ...” Mason paused, but Caleb completed his incomplete statement.

“Yes, Mason. He is the same guy who had been working with Sia on the English project in which you ditched her.

“I never wanted to.” He murmured to himself.

Olivia was about to say something but was called by impatient Sia, so she went to her room to help her friend in getting ready.

“How Do I Look?” She asked when she was completely ready. She wore a white spaghetti top and a black knee-length skirt. She kept her naturally straight hair open, which flowed past her shoulders. She paired her dress with a brown booth.

“Beautiful, he is going to regret for not asking you out on a date.” Olivia smiled at her.

“I don't know what you are talking about,” Sia replied uneasily.

“You can fool me, but not yourself.

“Olivia, it doesn't matter. He doesn't like me in that way. It's time that I finally move on, and Xander seems like a nice guy.” Sia gave a sad smile to her.

“Okay, as you wish. But remember, whatever happens, I am going to be there for you.

Sia was on her way to moving on with her life, but Mason was not happy with her dating Xander or any other guy.

“Why do girls take so much time to get ready?” Mason asked him in antsy.

“Umm, to look nice,” Caleb answered him vaguely.

Both he and Mason had been waiting for two hours in the living room for Sia to come out.

“Come on! Two hours just for a date. We don't even take half an hour to get ready, but she is taking... Damn.” Mason's mouth hung open when he saw his best friend all dolled up.

“Well, I think I did a good job,” Olivia said from behind.

Mason was about to compliment Sia, but the doorbell rang.

“Well, that's my queue. Toodles, guys.” With that, Sia left for her date.

*11 pm*

Mason was pacing around in front of the TV, where Caleb and Olivia were trying to watch a movie. Apparently, except for Caleb, the Knight family was out at a function. So it was only Olivia, Caleb, and Mason.

“Dude, will you sit down? I am not able to watch anything on the television.” Caleb shouted in frustration.

“Sit down! How can I sit down? It’s already been already four hours since Sia went on a date. God knows where she is. Is she safe? Should I call her?

“I am sure Xander is taking good care of her. He is a nice guy.” Olivia stated.

“Like hell he is.” Mason greeted his teeth.

“Well, whose fault is that? Instead of making your way with other girls, if you had focused on Sia, it would have been you rather than Xander.” Olivia glared at him.

“Could you blame me? Best friends love stories work in reel life, not in real life. Plus, I have never been with any girls. I am as innocent as any 10-year-old could be.” Mason exasperated.

The sound of a car made him alerted.

“Mason, don’t you go there and spoiled her last moments of date,” Caleb warned him.

Five minutes passed, and still, Sia didn’t make her entry.

“Why is she taking so much time? That’s it. I am going out.” With that, Mason stormed out.

“God, this is not going to end well,” Caleb murmured to Olivia.

“She will have his head on a platter.” Olivia chuckled.

“What do you think is going to happen?” Caleb asked her.

“Don’t know, but she is definitely going to make him beg on his knees.” She laughed while trying to imagine Mason begging Sia on his knees.

Caleb was about to reply but was stopped by Sia, who entered his house in a rage.

“I can’t believe you, Mason. How could you do this to me?” She shouted at him.

“Instead of shouting at me, you should be thanking me. “I saved you from that dreadful kiss.” He said it cheerfully, pleased with himself.

“Saved me! Are you kidding me? You spoiled all my chances of having another date with him.” She pointed out.

“Don’t tell me that you actually enjoyed your time with him.” He asked her anxiously.

“Of course I did, you moron. You always have to ruin things for me, don’t you?” She was burning with rage. She was all red.

“Come on. It was just a date. It’s not a big deal.” He tried to calm her down.

“I am not like you, Mason.

“What do you mean?” He was in a pickle.

“I am not a cold-hearted person who likes to play with opposite gender feelings.” She glared at him.

“You think I don’t have a heart, and I play with girls?” He asked her in torment.

“Yes,”

“What about you Sia, have you not been playing with my feelings for the past so many years?” He came closer to her.

“What...” But he didn't let her finish.

“You have got time to feel for every other guy in the world except me. Have you ever thought about my feelings? How would I feel when listening to the girl I love talking about other guys with a dreamy look in her eyes?

He took a step forward again, which caused Sia to stumble back a little.

“Love? You don't love me, or else you wouldn't be sleeping around with other girls.” She said it with tears in her eyes.

Olivia wanted to interrupt, but Caleb grabbed her hand. It was something both their best friends needed to do without them interrupting.

“Goddammit, Sia. I am not sleeping around, and I am very much a virgin who has been in love with you since childhood.” He told her loudly.

“Bull shit! If you loved me, then I would have been your first kiss, not that Bianca.” She exclaimed.

“Sia, I am not sleeping around, and I am very much a virgin who has been in love with you since childhood.” He told her loudly.

“Don't lie. I don't remember kissing you.” She crossed her arms.

“Do you remember the time when Olivia left Rosewood, and exactly that time your parents had to leave to visit your sick grand mum, and they left you at my place?” He asked hesitantly.

“Ya,” She said, remembering that day.

“Well, I came to check on you while you were sleeping in the guest room and, well, let’s just say you were looking really peaceful and beautiful sleeping in your pyjamas and hugging your favourite soft toy, so I just couldn’t resist kissing you. I didn’t want anyone else to be your first kiss other than me, and I wanted you to be my first kiss.” He started off slowly, but hastily completed his last few words.

“You stole my first kiss.” Sia gawked in astonishment.

“Sia, I know you are angry. But I really do love you. And I swear I don’t sleep around. I was irritated because you didn’t return my feelings, and some girls were spreading rumours. So, I didn’t stop them in the hopes that it would make you jealous, but it obviously didn’t work...

“That doesn’t give you any right to steal my first kiss. You moron! You pig! You male chauvinist animal! I am going to kill you.

Sia charged towards him and kept hitting him until he grabbed her arm and kissed her.

“Holy cow! I was expecting anything but this.” Olivia was blinking her eyes because of the sight in front of her.

“Ditto,” Caleb replied.

Mason and Sia were having a full-on make-out session.

“You kissed me again.” Sia gasped.

“I won’t hesitate to do it again until you return my feelings.” He said to her stubbornly.

“Well, then get down on your knees and ask for my forgiveness and propose to me properly,” Sia smirked.

“I told you, she is going to make him beg on his knees.” Olivia nudged Caleb, and he shook his head playfully.

“What! I’m not doing that, Sia.” Mason said, rolling his eyes.

“Fine, then forget about me.” Sia was about to turn around, but Mason grabbed her hand and fell down on one of his knees.

“I know I shouldn’t have waited this long and should have confessed to you a long time back. So, I am going to do it now. I have loved you for a long time, but I never thought that you going on a date with someone else would make me realize the chances of losing you. I am deeply sorry for keeping you waiting this long, so please accept my apologies and make me the luckiest guy alive by becoming my girlfriend.

“Wow, I never thought that I would see a day where I would be successful in making you do a cliché type of scene from chick flicks.” Sia teased.

“You know what, let it be. It’s clear that you don’t like me.” Mason got up and was about to leave when Sia stopped him by kissing him.

“Of course I will be your girlfriend, you dumb idiot.
