Chapter 9 Go Ask Your Dear Uncle Six

Hearing that, I froze at the door, put down my hand, trying to listen to what was going on.

Marilyn mentioned the child earlier. At that time, I was not in the mood to ask for the detail but became curious now.

> I talked to myself.

We are finished.>

"What child, Chloe? What are you talking about?" Marilyn said.

"Stop it. I heard everything you told Chelsea. Do you still want to hide the truth from me?"

"Silly. I said that to deceive that woman into divorcing your brother. I can't believe that you've taken it seriously. "

Chloe's voice was firm. "You are my mom. Of course, I can tell if you're lying or not. Besides, four years ago, Scott..."

"Chelsea!" An excited kid ran over to hug me. He shouted my name happily, interrupting the conversation inside.

Lowering my head, I gazed at Randy, who was jumping around. I didn't know whether to laugh or cry, "Randy, you are early today. Are you skipping class again?"

"Damn you, Chelsea. How dare you eavesdrop on our conversation? I am going to give you a lesson!" Marilyn pulled open the door at this moment and rushed out, raising her hand to hit me. However, she withdrew her hand angrily, spotting Randy was present.

"I have something to ask Chloe," I explained neither humbly nor arrogantly. Ignoring Marilyn, I looked into the room and saw Chloe squinting at me. Her expression was full of mocking, sneering, and gloating.

"Grandma is a bad person. You are as bad as Uncle Scott." Randy bared his teeth at Marilyn and held my hand, trotting into the room.

"You little ingrate. I shouldn't have treated you well!" Marilyn stomped and left with a gloomy expression.

"Mommy, I received a lot of love letters and candies today!" Randy hopped up to Chloe and looked up at her for praise. Randy was so proud of himself.

Chloe caressed Randy's head indulgently and smiled gently at him. Then, she turned her head and stared at me coldly. There was a hint of impatience in Chole's tone, "What do you want to know?"

Randy was not old enough to understand the grownups' tense situation. He talked happily, saying that he didn't love those crybaby girls; he only took candies back but not the love letters. Then, he grabbed a handful of colorful candies for me, unwrapped a bar of chocolate, and handed it to Chloe's mouth.

I stared at the candies in my hands and had mixed feelings. I asked with a not pleasant feeling, "Who was the man that night?"

If Randy knew that I was responsible for his mom's car accident, causing his mother to become disabled, would he hate me like his mother and do something crazy?

Chloe's face darkened. She didn't want to carry on the conversation in front of Randy, so she took the chocolate and kept it in her mouth, gently said, "Randy, mommy wants to talk to Chelsea. Go and do your homework. Come out and play later."

Randy pouted and answered, "Ok." His big puppy-eyes looked at me pitifully, and he asked me to wait for him to fly kites together later. Randy rattled on before left reluctantly.

As soon as the door closed, Chloe suddenly turned hostile and became mean again, "Why are you looking for that man? Is he good in bed and making you horny now? Do you want to fuck him again?"

Chloe said it disdainfully and sarcastically.

After I married Scott, few in the Laris family had taken me seriously apart from his grandfather. All of these were because I was an orphan. No matter how hard I tried, they would never treat me like family.

Putting the candies on the table, I looked out the window, trying to calm myself down, "I'm not looking for him. I just want to know who he is. I feel I knew him a long time ago."

It seemed that I had known that man for a long time. Not only was his familiar smell, but also the feeling of being with him. He made me feel close, like family.

However, whether he was a friend or a family member, I couldn't forgive him for what he had done to me, especially when I thought that he might have ruined my innocence four years ago and now destroyed my marriage.

"Ha...you met him a long time ago?" Chloe seemed to have heard something exciting. She laughed wildly and came to me in an electric wheelchair.

Looking at her sarcastic behavior, I knew I couldn't get anything useful. I swiveled and was ready to leave, but Chloe grabbed my wrist tightly the next second.

Restraining me from leaving, Chloe raised her delicate eyebrows at me. There was a hint of perverted joy in her eyes, and her tone was full of mockery and contempt, "So, you've already had sex with that disgusting gigolo? Chelsea Larney, you're so dirty. Does Scott know?"

She gritted her teeth, enunciating each word. Her words were like a poisoned blade, fiercely cutting into my heart. I staggered and almost fell to the ground.

"Don't worry. Scott knows everything!" I angrily yanked her hand away. My body trembled uncontrollably, and I stood still motionlessly

It was only me kept in the dark like a fool.>

Seeing my embarrassment, Chloe narrowed her eyes contentedly, "If you want to know who that person is and where he is, go and ask Terence."

"What do you mean?" My heart skipped a beat, and I was shocked.

What is she talking about?>

Chole quirked up the corner of her mouth, smiling meaningfully. She drove her electric wheelchair to the window, rubbing the plant on the windowsill, and did not want to talk to me anymore.

Closing my eyes, I suppressed the confusion in my heart. I gazed at the lonely figure in front of the window and left frustrated.

Although I didn't mean to cause Chole's car accident, her life was ruin after that. I had nothing to complain about her resentment.

Scott didn't come back tonight. I could have slept soundly, but I kept tossing and turning. My heart was a mess.

After midnight, I got out of bed and went downstairs to have some red wine to help me sleep better. I didn't want to work out of spirits the next day.

I went downstairs in my pajamas and leaned against the bar on the first floor alone. When I drank the second glass of red wine, Terence pushed open the living room door.

Terence dressed in a long black windbreaker. He was tall, noble, and grim. He walked in, bringing in the cold air from outside.

When Terence saw me, he stopped short without saying a word. He pinched his charming thin lips and stared at me. I can't tell what he was thinking.

Putting down my goblet and greeted him awkwardly, "Hi Terence, you come back late tonight."

Terence turned his handsome face away and ignored me. He was as cold as ever, like I had done something offend him. He pinched his eyebrows, closed the door, and walked upstairs.

Seeing that he was wobbling, I quickly approached to support him. Terence smelled of alcohol; I assumed he had drunk a lot.

"Terence, let me take you back to your room." I was afraid that he would fall down the stairs as he walked back to his room on the third floor, so I supported him and suggested.

Terence looked down at me with his deep-set eyes and said in a low voice,"Fine." Then he leaned over and put his arm on my shoulder.

In an instant, Terence's manly smell mixed with the scent of alcohol blew against my face and lingered on the tip of my nose, causing me to feel inexplicably flustered. After calming myself down, I supported him and walked upstairs.

Since I was wearing slippers, Terence kept stepping on the back of my feet with his leather shoes. I bared my teeth and almost screamed because of the pain.

Terence kept one hand over his stomach, and his face was getting pale as if he was suffering.

When we reached the second floor, he seemed to realize that he had stepped on me repeatedly. He frowned and kicked off his leather shoes.

When I looked at his bare feet, my nose twitched, and I couldn't help but feel moved.

Once, when Scott was drunk, I supported him upstairs like this, and he kept stepping on me. Instead of showing his sympathy, he just yelled at me and complained that I was too slow.

After struggling to arrive on the third floor, I opened Terence's room door and assisted him to sit on the bed, "Terence, you sit here first. I'll go and get you some..."

"Retch."

Before I could finish, Terence's tall body leaned forward and vomited at me. Suddenly, there was a pile of vomit covering my chest.
