Chapter 4 This Guy Beat Zihao up Yesterday

For the past four years, although Scott never had sex with me, we had been sleeping on one bed.

I enjoyed this kind of marriage because as long as I could see him, I felt satisfied.

But after so many things happened today, I didn't want to see Scott at all. It was late and grandpa hadn't come back yet, I thought that grandpa would not come back today.

I went back to the bedroom and locked the door.

For the whole night, I didn't sleep well and had nightmares all the time.

In the nightmare, Marilyn kept taking pictures of my naked body, Scott was crazy to force me into sleeping with him, and Chloe was strangling me, keeping asking me to give her legs back...

"Don't take the photo!"

"Scott, don't do this. Please don't do this to me!"

"Chloe, I didn't mean it..."

I cried and begged in pain, but I was wrapped in the nightmare and couldn't wake up.

The next day, the weather was good. The sunlight shone through the french window, making the whole bedroom bright.

When I woke up, there were tears at the corners of my eyes because of the nightmare. I laughed at myself.

Even if I was in the sunny bedroom, I couldn't feel warm.

I had thought that marrying Scott would bring me a happy life. However, it was just a nightmare.

It was breakfast time, so grandpa should be downstairs.

I quickly washed up, put on a home dress, opened the door, and ran downstairs, afraid that Scott would suddenly appear.

Maybe it was because I walked too fast that my ankle sprained suddenly, and I was falling down at the stair landing on the third floor.

"Ah!" My eyes widened in horror. Just as I thought I would fall down the stairs, an arm suddenly wrapped around my waist and pulled me back.

I fell into strong masculine arms, which were as warm as the sun, with a faint smell of tobacco.

I rarely met men, especially those who smoked, but the smell of tobacco was familiar.

In a daze, I grabbed the man's clothes and sniffed hard. Just as I was thinking about where I had smelled it, a laugh in a deep voice sounded above my head.

I suddenly raised up and saw the adam's apple, the strong chin, the straight nose, thin lips like Scott's, and finally I saw those dark eyes!

It was Terence!

My heart thumped with surprise. I pushed him away in a panic and said awkwardly in a low voice, "Ter...Terence..."

However, I moved too much that I was about to fall again.

Terence hold me and did not pull me into his arms again, keeping a distance from me.

Perhaps he thought my stupid behavior was funny that he said with a pleasant smile, "You're an adult now but still don't know how to take care of yourself."

His words reminded me of my childhood, so I didn't want to be so serious with him.

I held his hand to steady myself and smiled, "Maybe I've been spoiled by you when I was a child."

When I was young, besides Scott, Terence doted on me most. To be exact, he treated me better than Scott.

At that time, when I had been bored, I would go to the garden to catch earthworms.

Scott thought the earthworm was sticky and disgusting. When he saw me digging for earthworms, he would say that I was a freak and then ran away immediately.

Terence, instead, never despised my little hobbies. He would not only catch earthworms with me but also climb over the walls to buy me a lot of delicious snacks.

Scott always said that snacks were junk food. He often snatched the snacks in my mouth and threw them away, making me cry in anger.

And when Terence saw me crying, he would punch Scott...

When I thought of these things, I really felt I had a happy childhood. However, we had all grown up.

A lot of things changed when people grew up. They would drift apart, just like Scott and I.

Terence put one hand in his trouser pocket and leaned against the banister casually. He looked at me with his eyes shining, "So, do you want me to continue doting on you?"

It suddenly became a little embarrassing. I took a breath and looked at him, feeling a little flustered for some reason.

What did he mean?

Maybe I was just thinking too much. I poked him in his chest with a delighted smile, as if I had been a child, "Terence, I've grown up and even married. You should dote on someone you love."

Terence became serious and looked at me with his deep eyes. There was a hint of loneliness in his voice, "Chelsea, I've always been alone."

I didn't know how to reply for a moment. His words sounded strange, but I didn't want to imagine anything. So I just said I was going for breakfast and then went downstairs.

When I went downstairs, grandpa had already sat at the table, looked seriously.

Chloe sat on grandpa's right side in a gentle manner. Marilyn also sat decently, showing no trace of what she looked like yesterday.

Grandpa didn't look well, so I asked with the concern when I sat down, "Grandpa, you look pale. Are you worried about Senior Mr. Fain?"

The Fain family was also a rich and influential family in Capital City. Senior Mr. Fain and grandpa had been good friends for a long. Senior Mr. Fain had intended to marry his granddaughter to Scott, but grandpa declined him for me.

Thinking of what Marilyn had done to me in the hotel in order to have some relationship with the Fain family, my heart stung sharply.

Hearing this, grandpa looked at me lovingly, waved his hand, and sighed, "He's probably at the end of his life."

"Father." At this moment, an indifferent and deep voice sounded.

I looked up and saw Terence's deep and bright eyes.

He also looked at me with a half-smile.

I quickly looked away so as not to be disturbed by him again.

Chloe rested her chin on one hand and sat comfortably. She looked back and forth between Terence and me, thoughtfully.

Being watched by her, I felt uncomfortable. Grandpa patted the seat next to him and said, "Terence, come on, sit here."

The seat next to grandpa was usually for the eldest grandson, which also represented the high status in the family. Scott always sat there.

Now that grandpa asked Terence to sit there. And He even said it naturally and proudly.

Indeed, Terence was impressive outside and inside, making grandpa proud.

Terence didn't refuse. He raised up and glanced at grandpa calmly. And then he drew out the chair and sat down gracefully, being calm.

My seat was next to Terence's. Consciously or unconsciously, when he sat down, his shoulder touched mine. The faint smell of tobacco floated in the air, going into my nose.

I took a sip of the milk on the table. When I wanted to move aside quietly, Marilyn jumped up and couldn't suppress her anger, "Terence beat Scott up yesterday, but you let him sit in Scott's seat. Are you going to turn a blind eye to whatever this bastard did?"
