Chapter 11 What Did He Do to You?

Scott left angrily with a sneer. When he ran away from the door, he struck Terence's arm.

"Scott, where are you going? Come back..." Marilyn chased after him.

She glared at me fiercely when she left, as if she wanted to kill me with her eyes.

As soon as they left, grandpa leaned on the sofa tiredly.

He was merciless when he beat and scolded Scott, but he loved this grandson indeed. As soon as they left, he began to persuade me, "Chelsea, you are the hostess of the Laris family. You have to take it easy and live a good life with Scott. I've already taught him a lesson about the things happened last night. Don't be estranged by it. It's normal for men to have an affair, which is just for fun..."

"It's normal for a man to cheat. Interesting!" A deep voice full of sarcasm suddenly came.

I looked up in astonishment and saw that Terence was slightly curling the corner of his mouth. He was leaning against the door of the hall with one hand in his pocket. He looked sullen.

He was clearly talking to grandpa, but his dark eyes were staring at me.

I was confused. Then I looked at Grandpa and said, "Grandpa, I have to go to work."

Grandpa might be a little unhappy to be interrupted by Terence. He was looking at Terence with a gloomy expression. It's hard to tell the emotions from his muddy eyes.

Hearing what I said, he sighed and waved his hand to let me go to work quickly.

"Grandpa, since you have asked uncle Terence to be the new president of the Laris Group, why not let Chelsea take him to the company. After all, she is very familiar with the company's business and can help him a lot." Chloe suddenly came out of the elevator that went straight to the third floor.

She must have been waiting in the elevator for a long time.

She seemed to be considerate. But there were clearly bad intention in her big bright eyes.

I picked up my briefcase and just as I was about to refuse, Terence said in a clear voice, "That's a good idea!"

Then he turned around and headed for the door with steady steps. As he walked, he signaled me follow him.

"If you want to know who that man is and where he is now, just ask your dear Terence."

Thinking of what Chloe said yesterday, I really wanted to ask Terence.

Seeing that grandpa had no intention of objecting, I quickly chased after him.

On the way to the company, Terence drove his Land Rover range rover and I sat in the passenger seat. Sometimes he spoke German, sometimes french, with Bluetooth headset in his ears. He kept talking to the people over the phone, as if he was really busy, or he just didn't want to talk to me.

Perhaps it was an illusion. I always felt that the smell of smoke on him was much heavier than that when he came back. It made me feel uncomfortable. So I quietly rolled down half of the car window to get some fresh air.

When the autumn wind ruffled the hair on my forehead and cooled the temperature on my cheeks, I calmed down. Suddenly, I didn't want to ask anything.

'So what can I do if I know who that person is? It doesn't make up for the damage I've suffered. He can only tear those ugly scars again to prove my filth and shame.'

'If I ask and Terence admit that he knew about it and he settled it privately for fear that I would feel sad.'

'Then I will not grateful to him but feel ashamed of myself.'

When I was wandering, the car stopped in front of the company.

Terence put one hand on the steering wheel and turned to me. His eyes were sharp and he looked at me inquiringly, "Do you have something to ask?"

The car was already cramped. As soon as he turned, we were shoulder to shoulder and thigh to thigh. His breath sprayed on my side face which was soon get warm.

I was at a loss. Then I moved to the side a little bit and casually asked, "Last night..."

"I was drunk last night." He interrupted carelessly with a slight frown, as if I was bothering him with something trivial.

'This guy is really...'

'I took care of him last night, and he even vomited all over me. Now he just answers with perfunctory words. How heartless!'

I didn't know what I was angry about, but I felt suffocated and a little aggrieved, "Well, you're drunk."

I grabbed my briefcase from the back seat and got out of the car gloomily. I didn't wait Terence and proceeded to the company gate alone.

After only a few steps, a burst of laughter came behind me. It was magnetic, dulcet, and a little proud.

I stopped and found that I had been teased. I was annoyed that I didn't calm down just now. I bit my lip and scooted to the company.

Well, he used to tease me when I was a child, and he still had a fondness for that now.

Grandpa was really a resolute person. He had informed the whole company of appointing Terence as the president.

As soon as I entered the company, everyone talked about that and wondered who the new president would be and what he would look like...

When I arrived at the personnel department office, the staff came to comfort me. Some flattered me; some were concerned with me.

Because everyone knew that Scott was my husband and now he was transferred. Maybe they thought I would be upset.

Just as I was wondering about that, my assistant ran over with ambiguous smile and whispered, "Ms. Larney, your husband is in the office. He's been waiting for you for a long time!"

'Why did he come here?'

I had a feeling of unease, but I still calmly nodded and headed for my office.

As soon as I reached the door, a long arm stretched out and rudely dragged me in.

The door slammed and I was pushed against the door. The hand was so powerful that my chest was deformed.

Scott pinched my face and smiled evilly. He said, "Well, you two come to the company together. How crazy you are."

I trembled with shame and anger. But thinking that he was in a bad mood for being transferred, I explained with patience, "Uncle Terence just took office and doesn't know much about the company, so grandpa asked me to take him..."

"Stop arguing!" Scott yelled at me and pushed me to the ground.

I was not a coward. But looking at the way he widened his eyes, I was really frightened. My legs trembled and I had no strength to get up.

"No wonder you were so magnanimous when I went to find a woman last night. You're happier than me. Tell me what uncle Terence did to you and how he made you happy..."

"Scott Laris, you bastard, get out of here! Get out!" Hearing those dirty words, I roared angrily and got up abruptly to push him out.

However, he took the opportunity to hold me by the waist and carried me to the desk. He squeezed his waist between my legs and said, "Well, you two didn't do anything. You are innocent and I have wronged you. Go ahead. Shame on you!"
