VI

ARIANNE planned to stop sending money but her mom started bothering her friends and even threaten them that she’ll go there to embarrass them to all the neighbors. Not to cause trouble for her friends, she decided to give what her mom wants. That leaves her with a little money left to spend.

To release her stress, she decided to go straight to the mall. She’s walking around when she passed by an Art Gallery. She looked at the paintings and ventured there’sEissej’s that had strayed in there.

The paintings are beautiful but Eissej's paintings are really different. She did not know how but even though it was her first time seeing Eissej's work, she knew immediately that he was the creator of the painting.

She was looking at a painting of a man in a boat at sunset. The painting was beautiful to her eyes but not to her heart.

"Is it beautiful?"

She felt her heartbeat speed up. She immediately looked at the man behind her.

"Jessie?" Her eyes widened in surprise.

He laughs at her reaction. "You look so surprised.

"W-well, I just never thought we would meet again.

He just nodded and turned his gaze to the painting which she imitates. Not to make it awkward, she thought of something to ask.

"Ahm, do you also love paintings?"

"I also like to paint.

She looks back at him. "Really?!"

He laughs. "Why do you not seem to believe whatever I’m saying? Don’t I look like someone who paints?” he laughs again.

"I-It's not that I don't believe you.

She just couldn't really believe what was happening. Is this a prank? Did Nicole plan all this?

First, she met a man with a name opposite toEissej’s name. Second, he also seems to know how to paint. If this ain’t a prank, Nicole seems to be right, he is probably her soulmate, the Eissej of her life.

"By the way, remember the friend I told you who went to the exhibit?

She nod.

“She bought two yesterday and gave me one. Now if you want, I'll just give it to you.

Though she would love to have Eissej’s painting, if she was his friend, she’ll feel hurt if he’d give the painting to someone else.

"Your friend gave you that gift so just take care of it. Just give me your best paintings. Joke!" She laughs awkwardly.

"My works are ugly. I'm just a frustrated painter,” he laughs.

"Don't be like that. There are no ugly artworks as long as you make them from the heart,” she placed her hand on her chest.

"Would you really like them?"

"Of course! You know, I'm the kind of person who treasures all the things my friends give me.

"Friend? You mean, I'm now your friend too?"

“ Why, don’t you want to be my friend?

“Of course, I do.

He keeps on smiling at her but she doesn’t why she feels like it’s only his lips that’s smiling and not his eyes. Was it fake? Is he going through something?

"Have you eaten yet? I'm hungry. Let's eat, I'll treat you in exchange for your coffee last time. Go?"

"Sure, I will not say no to that,” he replied with a smile.

Though she only has enough money till her next payday, she wants to treat Jessie. She just hopes he won’t choose a costly restaurant.
