III

ARIANNE caught a man gasping for breath. He bowed slightly while his hands were on his knees. He looks tired of chasing. She thought she was the only one chasing the thief to get her bag back. She looked around to find her bag but it wasn’t there.

"Where is my bag?"

When the man looked at her, she was stunned. This guy is so handsome and looks sexy with his sweat all over his face. But what made him more interesting is how his quiff hairstyle remained unbothered after running.

She shakes her head to pull herself together. It not his appearance but her bag she should care about.

"The thief, where did he go?

The guy shook his head. "I-I didn't catch him.

"Why I have to be this unlucky today!" She looked at her wristwatch. "It's almost time and I lost my ticket.

"Ticket?"

"Ticket as in ticket. I can no longer go there. So annoying!" She stumped her foot.

"You mean I got tired running just for a ticket?" He asked while a little breathless.

"It's not just a ticket. It's a ticket for Eissej's Paintings Exhibit. It’s a once in a lifetime experience but now it's gone", she cried. Nothing really goes well with her life.

"Why do I have to get robbed today?” She doesn’t care anymore even if someone’s looking at her cry.

"Calm down. Let's just have coffee.

She looked at the guy. "I'm in trouble. I got robbed, didn't I? I can’t treat you for coffee."

The man laughed at what she said. “ Don’t worry, it’s my treat.

She had no intention of joining him because she doesn’t know this guy in the first place. But he looks kind. Aside from he’s handsome, it was just him who tried to chase the thief of her ticket so why would she even think of him badly?

As they waited for their order, he introduced himself.

"I'm Jessie,” he held out his hand.

Which she accepted. "Arianne.

"Why do you want to go to Eissej'sart exhibit? Are you his fan?"

"You know him? Yeah, I’m his fan. It was my only chance to see him in person but I blew it. It's really annoying! Maybe he’s there now.

"Of all artworks, why do you like Eissej's works? I think there are a lot of artists out there who are better than him.

"Well, Eissej is really good. His paintings are beautiful. But other than that, I also like his personality. Even though I don't really know him, I know he is kind. Because all the money that goes to him, he gives it to the poor and with diseases who don’t have money for medication, ” she leaned forward and whispers.“This is just our secret, okay? The truth is, I have a crush on him even though I have not seen him yet. Am I being weird?

Jessie smiled at her. “A little.

She’s not an outgoing person. She seldom talks with people she doesn’t know but at that moment, she was very excited when she talks about Eissejto Jessie. Maybe because he recognized his idol. He could be a fan too. But remembering that she no longer has a chance of meeting Eissej, she got sad again.

"I really hate this day,” she looked away not to show Jessie her tears.

"Don’t worry, someone texted me just now. A friend who went to the exhibit. It was announced that Eissej could not make it.

She looked back at Jessie. "Is it true?”She did not see her with his phone though.“Maybe you're just saying that because you're annoyed of me.

"I'm serious.

"Let me read the message if it’s true.

"I deleted it.

She pouted. It didn't seem like what he was saying was true. Maybe he just wanted to lighten her heart so she decided to just get along with what he said.

"I hope what your friend says is true,” but even if she wants to convince herself to believes in it, she can’t still help but get sad.

"Why are you still sad? Don’t you believe me?"

"The truth is, I would also like to see his last painting. I'm sure someone already bought it. Honestly, though I’m a fan, I haven’t bought any of his paintings. That’s why I’m already happy to at least see them in person. It would be nice if I was born rich. Even if I have a job, I still can afford it. I just got that ticket from a friend but lost it.

Saving for a painting worth 150,000 which is probably the lowest price is not that easy. She doesn’t even think she could save that huge amount even she works all her life.

"Who knows, Eissej might make one last painting for you.

She laughs with his joke. "That’s impossible. He doesn't know me."

"You still don’t know. Maybe there will be a miracle,” he looked at his wristwatch. “I’m sorry but I need to go.

"Oh, it’s okay. Thank you for the coffee. Thank you for helping me earlier too.

"I really didn't help and I feel guilty. I'll just drive you home."

"No need. Thank you.

“ Are you sure? That guy took your bag. Do you still have cash with you?

Right, she forgot. She got robbed and got nothing with her.

“Let me just drive you home. If you’re worried, you can send a picture of my I.D. to someone you know.

She gestured her hand that there’s no need to do that.“That’s not what I mean. I trust you. You were the only one who helped me to get my bag. That’s enough proof that you’re a good person.

“Shall we go then?

She smiles and nods. “Okay.

She gapes in awe seeing Jessie’s car. She’s not smart when it comes to cars but she’s sure it’s an expensive one.

The way he dresses, she already expected him to be in the middle class but she thinks he’s higher than. To think that someone like him made an effort to help her tells a lot. He must be a nice guy. Meeting a nice guy this handsome and rich is like a dream so she’d just take advantage of this moment because for sure that will never happen again.
