18: CEO of Nothing

Nolan

I stood in my living room, speechless as I watched Olivia dart off down the hall. I didn't know she would get so emotional just because I was talking to a girl I mean, we're not even together! Besides, I'm horny as hell I can't deal with this no sex thing like she clearly can!

Fuck! I thought to myself. Why do I keep screwing up?

I sat on the couch beside me and buried my face in my hands. We're not even married for real and she is stressing me the hell out! Even though I must admit, maybe I have been sending some incredibly mixed signals. But it's not my fault! I told her I wanted her, she knows I'm attracted to her, she's the one who doesn't want to engage! What's a man supposed to do?

I was pulled out of my head by a sudden knock at the door, and I all but ran to open it. "Hi, baby!" Courtney grinned, her short blonde hair bouncing as she sashayed into my home.

Courtney and I had a mutual understanding. When I didn't feel like putting in the effort to pull a completely new girl, we hooked up from time to time. I guess you can say it was a friends with benefits sort of situation. Only, we weren't really friends.

"Hey." I said courtly. She didn't even ask questions, she just headed straight for my room.

"You coming?" She asked, looking over her shoulder.

"Yeah," I grumbled, following slowly behind her. I took one longing glance at Olivia's bedroom door, and immediately felt like complete shit. I followed Courtney into my bedroom, then shut the door behind us.

"I missed you, Noel." She pouted, sitting me down on the edge of the bed. "Did you miss me?" She asked, planting seldom kisses on my lips. I turned my head slightly, causing her to start kissing my neck. I suddenly not in the mood to play these games with her after all.

"No." I grumbled, and this only made her cradle my neck in her hands.

"What do you mean no?" She pouted, confusion dancing on her face. I rolled my eyes in response, and grabbed her hands, placing them on my lap.

"I just don't want to do this right now." I said simply.

She blinked at me, clearly shocked, and I braced myself to be yelled at yet again. "You wasted my time coming over, Nolan." Courtney groaned, folding her arms across my chest. "When have you not been in the mood for sex?" She asked, pursing her lips.

"Well I wasn't tired, now I am." I said, laying back on the bed.

"Whatever." She rolled her eyes, then squinted at me before grabbing her purse. "If you were my boyfriend, I'd be pissed. But since you're not..." she trailed off, flipping me off before storming out of the door.

"Bye!" I yelled after her, angry at the fact that I really just wanted a release and now I feel too guilty to get one.

"Fuck you!" I heard her say distantly.

After Courtney was gone, I lied there in the dark contemplating all my mistakes. It was so easy for me to push girls aside and do my own thing regardless of who I hurt, so why was it so hard for me to do that with Olivia?

My attachment to her was something strange; something I really couldn't understand. I never had sex with her, and even though we're bonded legally through a contract marriage, we had no other real bond. We only had one date, and I didn't even kiss her because it just didn't feel right. I mean, yes she is really cute, and sexy as hell even I have to admit that. But what is it about her, really?

I sighed heavily, turning over on my side. I drifted off to sleep thinking about Olivia, and her smile, and her everything. Maybe I can figure it out in my sleep. Maybe.

"Noel, are you listening to me?
" My father asked, and rubbed my tired eyes.

"Yeah, Dad. I'm listening to you, okay? It's just been a really long weekend." I complained to him, sitting on his desk half way.

"This is a really important meeting, don't fuck this up." He said to me, looking back down at his phone. I resisted the urge to roll my eyes at him, still thinking about Olivia and last night. "Also we're having a company party Friday and you better not miss it."

"Yeah, yeah." I mumbled, watching as Hazel walked into my fathers office.

Hazel was a long time rival of mine, and the only thing that was really standing in between me becoming CEO once my Dad decided to retire. She hated my fucking guts, and the feeling was more than mutual. Whenever he threatened to give the business to Jared instead of me, I knew he really meant her. Jared had no interest in this company; working, running or otherwise.

She made herself comfortable in the chair across from me, and I half smiled at her. She squinted at me through her deep brown eyes, her caramel brown skin glowing for no apparent reason. "Nice haircut," she said sarcastically, and I gave her a small once over. She always wore the most bright, hideous colors and it irritated my soul.

"Nice outfit." I said back, and my father sighed.

"Children, play nice." He groaned. "I asked you both here for a reason." He finally looked up from his device, and I immediately knew where this was going. "How about some healthy competition for once?" He asked. "We need to nail this deal by any means necessary. If all goes well, we're going to receive a huge payback from this client. How about winner gets recognized Friday?" I wiggled my eyebrows, and she nodded.

"Besides, your wife is going to be there, don't you want to look good for her?" Of course this question was directed at me.

This made Hazel scoff loudly, and laugh. "I'm sorry, wife?" She asked, raising a questioning brow.

"Yes. Nolan is a married man now!" He said proudly.

"I didn't realize you were seeing anyone," she said, squinting at me.

"Probably because it's none of your damn business." I said with a sly smile, and she gave me a suspecting look.

"Mhmm." She smiled, cocking her head to smile.

"I got to make a phone call," my Dad said suddenly, stepping out of the office.

"Wow," Hazel said suddenly, staring at me in complete disbelief. "You're a huge dirt bag." She said pointedly, and I laughed hysterically. "Who in their right mind would marry you, huh?" She asked, raising a brow.

"Just face it, Hazel. You are so not getting promoted over me." I laughed, and she gripped the chair tightly. "You lose, I win." I said simply, folding my arms across my chest.

"The hell I am. I bust my ass in this office every. Single. Day! While you hang around and flirt with hussies in tight skirts!" She spat, standing to her feet so that we were eye level. "I'll be dammed if I let your scheming ass get this promotion over me!" I didn't say anything in response, I only shook my head and laughed. "I know you're up to something, I don't know what it is, but I'm going to find out; and when I do? You're gonna be the CEO of nothing!"

"Really?" I asked her.

"Yeah. Cause that's exactly what you'll have when I expose you." She smiled.

Of course we didn't get to finish our episode, because my Father came bouncing back in. "You're both dismissed. You have a lot of work to do after all." I shrugged, standing up to leave, and Hazel gave me one last hateful look.

"I loatheeeee you," she growled lowly once we were outside of the office, and it took everything not to laugh my ass off right there.

If I would have known getting married would make her this mad, I would have done it a long time ago.

After work, I hate to admit it, but I dreaded going home. I didn't know exactly what I was going home to. I couldn't face Olivia after what I had done, and all I know is I had a fire in my pants that I have been trying to put out since I saw her in that bikini.

I slowly made my way out of the car, begrudgingly walking up to my place. I turned the key, and when I walked inside what I saw I almost could not comprehend. "Hi, honey!" Olivia grinned, meeting me at the door. She took my briefcase out of my hands immediately, then disappeared into my bedroom.

"Wha..." I trailed off, not trusting how nice she was being, or how completely... homely my place looked.

I looked to the right of me, and saw that dinner was being prepared on the stove. To my left was the living room, and it was not so simple and modern how I like it. My dark gray sectional now had furry pillows, and soft fur blanket tossed across it.

For some reason there were all sorts of plants everywhere, and the area that my huge stereo sat had been turned into some sort of... chill spot. There was a record player, a huge bean bag, and a bookshelf. Topped off with string lights to set the mood.

I blinked in shock, certainly looking like a gulping fish. Even the kitchen area was different! It had placemats and teapot sets sitting out. None of this was how I pictured my home when I left.

"What the hell is this?" I asked once Olivia was back. She only smiled on, shrugging slightly.

"Well," she said playfully. "I thought as your wife I should have the right to do a little redecorating." My eyes followed her into the kitchen, and I walked around the island to see what else she had done with the place.

The first thing I did was open up the refrigerator, and I must admit it was definitely fuller than it had ever been before. One thing I certainly did have a problem with, was the fact that my Budweiser had been replaced with Bud Light.

I slammed the refrigerator door shut, then turned around to glare at Olivia. "You switched out my beer?" I asked her, and she turned to stare at me innocently.

"You don't mind do you?" She said softly, placing a hand on her hip. "I didn't want you start picking up weight. Can't have a dad bod and you're not even a dad yet." She shrugged. "Now you should go shower, dinner will be ready soon." She smiled mischievously. "Baby." When she threw in that last word I knew immediately that she was referring to Courtney. She called me that when she walked through the door, but I had silently hoped she didn't hear her.

I closed my eyes tightly, realizing that I had just been ambushed. I rubbed my temple slowly, then threw my hands up in defeat. "I don't have time for this." I grumbled, making my way into my room.

I felt myself relax when I found that it was the one thing of mine that she didn't touch. I unbuttoned my shirt with a heavy sigh, then decided that a shower before dinner did sound nice.

I really don't know what I was expecting when I came home, but it definitely wasn't this. I really just wanted to scream because of everything that was going on; most of all my horniness. Someone help me to understand life, because I just can't right now.

I got undressed then wrapped a towel around my waist to walk to the bathroom. I didn't really care if Olivia seen or not, she had already been well introduced, plus she was probably occupied with cooking anyways.

I managed to slip in unnoticed, then turned the shower on. While I waited for the water to heat up, I noticed that my little friend refused to go away so I did something I haven't done since high school; masturbate.

I sat on the toilet and grabbed the lotion that I kept on the sink, then closed my eyes and decided to think about Olivia in her little bikini. God, the things I would do to her in that bikini if only she would have just let me.

Just when I started to think about her waist decorated in those belly beads, the bathroom door flew open. I opened my eyes as soon as I heard a sharp gasp, and looked up to find Olivia getting well acquainted with my fully hard member.

I blinked in shock, and she slowly closed the door behind her. "Doesn't anyone knock anymore?" I asked at no one in particular, and felt a little disappointed when it began to fall limp. "When, God?" I cried, just wanting a release.
