Chapter 4: Her Regular Life

"Momma, are you going to work tonight?" Avery came in my room the next morning while I was picking out something to wear for tonight. I just finished taking a bath so I'm still wearing my bathrobe. But I am already wearing my underwear.

She was still in her long pajamas while holding her favorite teddy bear in one hand.

I crouched down to her level and pulled her near "Yes, momma has to work tonight. Is something wrong?"

She shook her head and she suddenly wraps her hand around my neck, hugging me tight. "Take care, Momma."

I did not expect my daughter's sudden confession. She is always like this, being sweet everytime she asks if I'm going to work. A huge smile spread on my lips and just let my daughter hugged me and I hugged her back too. "Is something wrong, honey?"

She shook her head, making her long wavy hair to bounce. "I learned from school yesterday that we should always tell our parents to take care when they go to work."

God, I really love my daughter. A small laugh escaped from me caressed her pink cheeks "Momma will always be safe, okay? Now, go and take a bath now. You don't want to be late, right?"

Avery nods her head and run off my room. She is such a sweetheart.

I continued searching for clothes but I can't think straight. I don't know why but I can't forget what my boss looks like and the feelings I had last night is still in me. Zephyrus... that is not a name that will just hear from anyone. And his face as well.

I never met anyone as handsome as he is though. His eyes and that amazing structure of his face just kept my mind running the whole night.

He saved me the other night though.

So, maybe he got a good side too.

And what his friend's name again? The one who entertained me while he was gone?

I think his name was Rune and that man is so damn handsome as well.

Well, back to reality, Elaina. There is no way they could notice me again especially starting today that I will only be a waitress in the club. Just some normal girl they will see. Nothing special.

I closed my closet door and left my room to get breakfast ready. I grab the cereal box on my top counter, the milk inside the fridge and some bowls. If this is Avery's breakfast then it will also be mine.

I checked my phone to check out the time and it's still early so I opened the TV and watched some news while waiting for Avery to finish.

When she was done, I helped her change into her uniform and we ate breakfast together. I always admire her when she's eating especially if she is eating a lot and happily. She is just really cute to watch.

"Momma, I'm done!" She cheerfully reminded me.

"Okay, go brush your teeth now." I told her and she swiftly went to the bathroom as I washed the dishes.

After that, I went to my room and changed into a waitress uniform. My morning job. I grabbed my things, cellphone and my little makeup kit and put it in my shoulder bag.

Avery finally finished brushing her teeth so I arranged her hair then grabbed her bag. "Are you ready?" I asked her.

She nodded her head and smiled "Let's go, Momma!" She stated enthusiastically.

We head to the front door as I locked it when I got out. Avery started sharing some of her corny jokes while we walk down the sidewalks. This is our bonding time, actually. When we started talking while I walk to her school. This is the time where she is very talkative. I held her hand tightly when I noticed the streets is being crowded by many busy people and pulled her close when we started crossing the road. She had little legs so I had to be careful when I'm pulling her hand.

"Hey Eleina!" Someone called from behind.

"Martha, hey " I smiled and waited for her to catch up.

"Good morning, aunt Martha! Hi, Lindsay!" Avery greeted cheerfully again. She let my hand go and ran to her best friend while Martha walked to me.

She playfully slapped my arm while her one hand is placed on her a flat tummy. "So, how did your job go?"

"Good. I'll be working in Midnight Phantom Club starting tonight." I told her. Our daughters started walking ahead but still at a distance where we can still see them. I heard that they we are talking about the new baby show in tv.

"Midnight Phantom? You got in that club? Damn, girl. How did you get accepted?" She sounded so shock.

I laughed "Don't make it such a big deal. I will just work as a waitress there."

" I don't care. Thats a big deal, you dummy. You will finally have the chance to join the rich people." She clapped her hands. "...oh and maybe this is your chance to find yourself a rich old man then kill him once he married you." She wiggled her eyebrows.

I glared at her. "Haha, nice one, Martha. You're making my stomach hurt. I am gonna work there for my daughter...not to flirt." I laughed sarcastically.

"C'mon, Eleina. Get yourself a man...or maybe just sleep with a man to get your life on the flow." she suggested.

I just slapped the back of her head "Lower your voice, Martha! The girls might hear your perverted mouth."

Martha just laughed out loud. " You never know, Elaine. I can sense it. You will have find the man for you in that club. I will bet on that."

"Shut up." I hissed until we finally noticed that we are already outside her school.

"Good bye, Momma! See you later!" Avery ran to me and gave me know huge hug.

I smiled and hugged her back. "Take care, baby."

"I love you, Momma!" She kissed me on the cheek before running inside the school with Lindsay."

There she goes again. I let out a sigh and turned my way towards the direction of my workplace. Martha and I finally said our goodbyes and then finally head out. We split ways as I go to the direction of the restaurant.

When I arrived at the restaurant, it was already full of customers. Actually this restaurant is styled as diner and a little Retro so the chairs and tables are very stylish. I quickly saw one of my coworkers, Abby. The punk waitress.

She had these massive earrings, crazy cut purple hair, dark and full eyeliners, a nose pierce and not the most talkative one in the area.

"You're late." She mumbled, with a slow tone like she was so bored all the time.

I just chuckled and walked at the back of the restaurant to put my bag in my locker. This is our rest area and where we take our lunches. I arranged myself again before I go and start my work. But when I was about to go out...Jeng, one of my coworkers too like Abby but she's smaller than me and younger with this slightly brown skin tone, nice figure and had rounded eyes.

"Hey Eleina, Ivan was looking for you a few minutes ago." She informed me, as she opened her locker and took her bag out.

"Ivan? Why?" Tsk, probably the same reason he always do. To ask if I already had breakfast or probably ask me out to eat breakfast.

Jeng shrugged her slender shoulders "He is surely just going to ask you out again...you know his pervert acts."

A laugh escaped from me. I started helping them out in the restaurant. Our cashier guy, Brian signalled me to come to him so I did. "What's up?"

"You're late." He told me, but his voice is humorous.

"Sorry about that." I replied, grinning.

"Finally, Ivan's nasty attitude will gone. He's such a bad person when you're not around." He wrinkled his nose. "He will surely smile once he sees you here."

I rolled my eyes and groaned. "Can you stop saying that man's name already. I'm so sick of it."

"A pleasure, Elaina. Now, serve this meal." He ordered. I quickly took the tray with one hand and went to served it. It says here that it's number 5 so I searched the area.

Number 5...

Oh there is is! Its at the corner of the room. "Here's your order, Sir." I announced.

"Hey, you're the girl from last night." A heard a familiar voice. I turn my eyes to the man.

The table is actually occupied by two man, on was wearing black shades, he was staring at the window while the other man is just dress. I started to recognize the face of the man.

"Oh, Rune? Right?" I asked, my voice a little louder because of my sudden surprise to see him here. I know I should maintain my poise here in the restaurant because I'm only a waitress.

"Took you so long to recognize me, Eleina." He smiled kindly " You work here?"

I nod my head. "Yeah. This is my morning job."

"So, did you got the job?" He questioned, as I started to serve them their meals.

"Yeah, I was actually shocked and couldn't believe it." I stated, "Um... which one of you ordered this breakfast platter?"

Rune pointed out the guy he's with. I placed the breakfast platter, that consist of pancakes, eggs, bacon and some apple and peach slices, in front of the guy giving me the chance to see who he is.

He is handsome, honestly. That amazing bone structure and perfect features...wait, I think I know this man. I've seen him once in tv. But I don't really know if it was in a commercial.

"Are you fan?" He rudely asked, glaring at me.

I quickly shook my head and gave the over meal, a cheeseburger with double pattie, on Rune's side. "Sorry about that." I muttered.

Rune just chuckled. "Please, forgive my friend. He is in a really bad mood since this morning." He patted his shoulder "Anyway, this is Lucas. Dude, meet Eleina, she is now working in Midnight Phantom."

Lucas turn his attention back to me then back to his meal, where he started slicing the pancake. "Just don't stare at me again."

I nodded "I'm sorry."

"No need to apologize, Eleina. A woman should not apologize to a man at a simple thing like that. My friend is just recovering from a heartbreak."

With that, Lucas flashed a deadly glare at him which he just laughed it off.

"No, it's okay."

"What job did you get? I hope you got the singer because that club terribly needs one." Rune leaned both of his arms on the table.

"No. I just got the waitress job. I can't do anything more than that." I told him but I did know how to sing. I'm a member of a glee club when I was in high school. "

His nose wrinkled "Too bad."

"Oh please, excuse me . I got carried away. Please enjoy your meal. I actually arrived late." I told them in a light voice and Ivan might get angry if he sees me chatting with customers while working hours.

"Oh, sorry for bothering you. Please, go back to your work. Thank you for the meal." He winked at me before I turn away from them, holding the tray to my chest and went back to the cashier table.

"You know those people?" Brian asked me as I took another tray of food.

I shook my head "Not a clue." Its better to just keep it because he will surely just ask more questions.

Watching the two at the corner of my eyes, I noticed that they are attracting so many attentions. I guess because of how gorgeous they are and they look too rich to be in a diner like this. They're billionaires for sure to be able to get in Midnight Phantom.

I can also see other customers staring at their side.

Two girls on one table seems to be gossiping about them. Well who wouldn't? Even my co workers are staring at them.

"Hey, you know those men?" Jeng grabbed me and asked.

I shook my head and refused to tell more. Other waitresses tried to ask me again but I heard the bell rings, signalling that a food is waiting to be served so that was my chance to get away from the questions. I hate it when people keeps on asking me that doesn't even concerns them.

I continued my work and did the best I can.
