Chapter Two

Logan went into her bedroom that night with happy thoughts about her and Charlie. She started reminiscing about the night of the prom. That night was magical and always made her smile. Happy thoughts filled her head. She no longer thought about the threats from Jennifer. She went to school the next day. Jennifer was not at school. Logan knew she would have a day without Jennifer threatening her in the restroom. When she arrived home from school. Sandy, Logan’s mother, was sitting at the dining room table. Sandy called her to come into the dining room. She had received a package in the mail.

When Logan opened the package, she was in shock to see the contents. Inside of the package was a silk black rose, with a card attached. The card read: This is just the beginning. Leave him alone. I will not tell you again. I will not be so nice about it next time. Take this as a friendly suggestion. He is mine and will never be with you. Your friend for now. She trembled in disbelief that this was happening to her. She was new at school and already being stalked by relentless evil. This was the first time she had been in this situation. Did she just need to leave Charlie alone? She was torn between her fear and her feelings. This was unfair. She has always been a good person. She has crossed paths with an evil person.

Evil lives in the most unhappy and controlling people in the world. Was Jennifer demonic or just evil? As Logan sit on her bed and prayed, the lights in her room started flickering. I felt cold chills over her body. Tears fell down her cheek. She had never been so scared before. She did not know how to fight a demon. The loud sound of thunder and lightning echoed in her room. She looked outside the window and there was no storm insight. She knew it had to be Jennifer.

Logan always enjoyed taking Ginger to the park. Her little eyes were sparkling with joy as she played on the rocking horse. It was her favorite toy at the park. After the rocking horse, Logan took her to the swing. Ginger would always swing her legs because she always wants to go higher. Logan was afraid to swing her high. She did not want her to get hurt. Suddenly, she looks across the park and sees Jennifer. Jennifer is sitting on the park bench, watching Ginger. Ginger wanted off the swing. Logan stopped the swing and helped her off. The next stop was the slide. The slide was just the right size. They made it for a toddler. Ginger climbed to the top and slid fast down the slide. She was scared and started holding onto the side rail. She had never been that fast before. Ginger fell on a rock as she hit the ground at the end of the slide. She had a scratch on her little leg and started crying. Jennifer started laughing as Ginger cried. Jennifer wanted to have Charlie, even if it meant hurting someone. It is frightening that Jennifer will do anything to get what she wants. Logan wondered if she was just evil or mean. The scratch started bleeding. Logan picked her up in her arms and hugged her. She gently kissed her little leg and told her that made it all better. Logan took Ginger to the store and bought her an ice-cream on the way home.

Logan went up to her bedroom. It was a school night, and she had to be in bed early. While looking into the mirror brushing her hair. An image appeared in the reflection. A silk black rose with one drop of blood on the petal. She at once thought of Jennifer. Jennifer had sent her a silk black rose. It hurt ginger at the park and shed a little drop of blood. Was Jennifer attacking her family? Logan became filled with anger. It is one thing to mess with me, but leave my family out of it. Ginger is only a sweet, innocent toddler filled with love. Logan confronted Jennifer when she sees her at school the next day.

Logan walked into the restroom hoping that Jennifer would follow her like she did times before. She walked up to the sink and washed her hand when the reflection of Jennifer appeared in the mirror. She turned around and Jennifer asked, “Have you learned your lesson yet? Shall this continue? I know you love that precious little girl and do not want to hurt her.” Logan became angry and slapped Jennifer in the face. She informed her to leave Ginger alone. She had nothing to do with this. It is between you and me. If you hurt Ginger, I will kill you. Jennifer smirked and laughed, while saying you have seen nothing yet. You will pay. I just hope that slap was worth the price. Never put your hand on me again. You have just declared war between us. Charlie cannot help you. No one can.

Logan walked into her bedroom and started crying. She had met the evilest person in the world. She could not believe that all this was happening because she wants to date Charlie. Jennifer had done these things to her. What has she done to Charlie? She called Charlie on the telephone. She began telling Charlie about all the events that had taken place. Charlie did not know what to say. He had heard other people talking about Jennifer being a witch. Jennifer had done nothing bad to him. She always showed him affection. Charlie explained Jennifer fell in love with him when they dated. He did not have those types of feeling for her. He only thought of her as a friend.

Jennifer never understood why he did not love her. She always thought that she could make him love her. She always dressed like a supermodel every time they went on a date. It did not matter where they went, she always looked her best. She believed that looking good would pull him towards her and smelling good would excite him. She always wore expensive perfume. Only the best was good enough for her. They always went to the places he wanted to go on their date. He asked her to choose the place to go. She always said anywhere is fine if I am with you. Every time she saw him, she smiles at him with lust in her eyes. Every time they went on a date, Jennifer always told him she had a wonderful time and wanted to see him again. When he opened the door for her, she always said thank you. Showing Charlie love would make him love her. She was desperate to be loved. She grew up in a wealthy home. Her parents never showed her love and affection. She felt inclined to rush the relationship. Charlie felt she was moving too fast. After the first date, she started texting him all the time. If he did not respond to her text at once, she would text him at least every thirty minutes. Sometimes she would call him and leave messages on his phone. She did not want him to be with other girls. Sometimes he would call her at the last minute and ask her to go out with him. She was available. If she had other plans, she would always change them to be with Charlie.

Logan realized Jennifer was a witch. She was a victim of witchcraft. How do you fight Witchcraft? This is a subject that most people do not have knowledge about. She began praying for the Lord to help her fight off the Witchcraft. She suddenly started having a headache and nausea. She continued to pray. The more she prayed, the sicker she became. She laid on the bed and slept. She started dreaming. Ginger was in the hospital with a high fever. The doctors did not know what was wrong with her. Logan suddenly woke up and ran to the baby room to make sure that Ginger was all right. It was only a dream.

Jennifer approached Logan in the hallway at school and said that dream you had last night could be real. Stay away from Charlie and ask forgiveness for slapping me. Jennifer knew she had messed with Logan’s emotional state. She had only guessed that she had a dream the night before. She knew it was true by her reaction. Logan had the dream because she was worried about Ginger and was struggling with Jennifer. Logan had experienced anxiety every time she saw Jennifer. She was afraid of what would happen next. The dreaming of Ginger being sick made her worry that she would get sick because of Jennifer. Logan had to seek help. She did not know how to make Jennifer stop. Asking forgiveness would not make her stop. She enjoyed seeing the effect it was having on Logan. Why should she just let Charlie go? Charlie did not want Jennifer, anyway. It would not be effective if she broke up with Charlie.

Logan went to see a Madam Neville, Psychic, for a reading. Maybe see can help and recommend something that can help her with Jennifer. She was afraid to get a cold reading. Madam Neville gave her a reading. Someone is taunting you. You need to be careful. She is dangerous. Stay your distance from her. She goes to school with you. Protect the toddler. You took someone the person loved and now she wants to take someone you love. Chills covered Logan’s body; she knew the reading was true. Logan then asked Madam Neville, can you help me stop her? Madam Neville replied, “Bring me something personal that belongs to her, and I can tell you what to do.”

Logan cut a picture of Jennifer out of the school newspaper to take to Madam Neville. Jennifer was always on the front page of the paper. She was a basketball player at the school. She is the star of the basketball team. Everyone depends on her to win the game. She is always friendly and optimistic. She is always willing to help others on the basketball team. The players were friends with her. When the school band was at the game, she always made a point of talking to them. She wanted everyone to know her. She wanted to be popular at school. Every time she met someone passing in the hallway, she would smile at them and say hi. She wanted to be the center of everything. Logan took the picture to Madam Neville. Madam Neville held the picture in her hands, closed her eyes, and started humming. Madam Neville opened her eyes saying this is the girl that is taunting you. Stay away from her. You have bad dreams at night because of her. The thunder and lightning came from her. She caused the toddler to fall in the park and get hurt. She will do whatever it takes to get what she wants.

Logan asked Madam Neville how I can stop her. Madam Neville took her by the hand, saying, do not let her know you are afraid. She feeds on your fear. This gives her control over you. Logan explained to Madam Neville, she is afraid for her sister Ginger. Jennifer is attacking her instead of me. I would not care if she attacked me if she left Ginger alone. Madam Neville replied to Logan, the best way to hurt someone. Hurt the person they love. It hurts more to watch someone you love in pain, knowing there is nothing you can do to stop the pain. It hurts for you to see Ginger in pain. The guilt you feel is also part of it. You believe it is your fault. You must be strong.

While saying her nightly prayers, Logan asked for strength. Strength to endure what must come. Strength to protect Ginger and save her from the evil. She felt weak all over her body. The muscles in her body hurt. There was a severe headache. She lay in the bed and went to sleep. She started having a dream. It was thundering and lightening. She is in the front yard, cold, wet, shivering, and crying. Ginger was in the yard, running away from her near the street. She began screaming for Ginger to come back as a car was approaching the driveway. She sits straight up in bed. Then she realized it was only a dream. She walked to the baby room and Ginger was asleep in her bed.

Logan dreamed Ginger was running from her because she was afraid of Jennifer and will not face her fear. She needs to solve the problem with Jennifer. She dreamed of being cold because Jennifer is rich, and she is poor. Jennifer is popular at school. She is referred to as trailer park trash and has no friends except Lisa. She dreamed of being cold outside because she is being treated coldly by the girls at school. She feels as they leave her out and will never fit in. Her subconscious mind is causing her to dream. When she is asleep, the conscious mind is asleep. When she is sleeping, her subconscious mind is controlling her body, her breathing, her organ functions, and everything about her. It connected her dreams to her experiences, feelings, and events in her daily life. She is trying to solve her problem with Jennifer. Jennifer is using her dreams against her. Jennifer makes her believe she is in control of her dreams.

Logan worried Ginger was sick all the time. She would wake during the night to make sure Ginger was all right. She would place her hand on her chest to feel her breathing. She was afraid that Ginger was going to die. Sometimes she wakes Ginger up during the night. Logan knew if anything happened to Ginger, it was her fault. If she would not have ever met Charlie, this would not be happening. She constantly worried about what was going to happen next.

Logan walked into the baby room, and Ginger was not in her bed. She started crying. She knew that Jennifer had done something to her. She had a panic attack, thinking someone had kidnapped her. If this was the case, it was all her fault. No one would ever want to hurt Ginger. It had to be because of her relationship with Jennifer. Jennifer had to be the one that did it. Sandy walked into the baby room, holding Ginger in her arms. Logan sighed with relief. Thank God she is all right. Sandy asked Logan why she reacted that way, seeing Ginger. She replied she had been having bad dreams and was afraid that Ginger was sick. Sandy reassured Logan that Ginger was fine and not sick.

Logan returns to her bedroom. When she walked into the room, she saw a dining table with two people sitting at it. The dining table had a white cloth covering the table. They placed lace over the white covering. The cloth napkins were folded to create elegant fans. The plates were white with red roses on the border. The crystal drink ware was sparkling. The fresh flower centerpiece added beauty and sophistication to the dinner table. The candles in the centerpiece add visual elegance and created a romantic atmosphere. There were only two place settings at the table. As she walked closer to the table to see the couple, the image vanished. She knew it was not real. There was a person in the bedroom. She stands in her room in a state of confusion. She did not understand what had just happened.

Logan feels sick with a headache. She kneels beside her bed and starts praying. God, I do not know what is wrong with me. I need your help. I need you to be with me every step I take. My world is changing, and I do not understand why. Please be with Ginger, protect her and keep her safe. Logan passes out on the floor. When she wakes up, she remembers nothing that happened that night. All she remembers is getting into her bed and going to sleep. She does not know how she ended up on the floor unless she fell out of bed.

Logan was feeling sick with a headache and nausea did not want to go to school. Sandy walked into her bedroom to check on her. Logan was lying in her bed, crying. The tears were falling down her cheek. She was holding her head. Sandy turned on the light and Logan started yelling, turn off light it hurts my head. While lying in bed, she felt a pulsation on the right side of her head. The more pain she experienced, her crying increased. Sandy took Logan to the doctor. She called Dr. Collier, her family doctor, and scheduled an appointment for the evening.

Logan arrived at Colliers’ office. She explained to Collier she had an extremely painful headache and nausea. Doctor Collier asked if she had any problems sleeping. She replied, I have been having dreams and waking up during the night to check on Ginger. I keep dreaming she is sick. Then Collier asked, have you been under stress? How are you doing at school? She replied I have been having problems with a girl at school. Collier then acknowledged Logan was experiencing migraine headaches. Collier subscribed Logan a tablet to take. The tablet would relieve the pain. If the pain persisted, she would need to come back to the doctor.

Logan was in the restroom at school when Jennifer walked in the door. She got an extremely painful headache and started holding her head. Jennifer walked over to her saying, I told you. You have seen nothing yet. Leave Charlie alone. She then started laughing at Logan. Logan became nauseated and starting projectile vomiting and vomited on Jennifer. It covered Jennifer with vomit and ran out of the bathroom. It wasn't intentional, but it was unavoidable. Logan felt pleasure for a moment. Jennifer deserves to be humiliated in front of her friends. Logan went to the school nurse and was sent home.

Logan walks into her bedroom to lie down and sees an image of a beach. The sand on the beach looked like white sugar. They filled the beach with sand sculptures. A little girl playing on the beach made A mermaid sculpture. The sun was setting on the horizon. The sky was filled with orange, yellow, and red. The view was breath taken. She had seen nothing so beautiful. Waves crashed quietly against the shore. A cool breeze blew on her face. She continued to walk along the beach. There was a woman in front of a window. She turned around to look back at the beach and the image disappeared. Logan falls to the floor. She had fainted. Sandy heard a loud sound from Logan’s room. When she walked in, Logan woke up. Sandy asked what happened. Logan remembered nothing. She felt exhausted and wanted to go the sleep. Sandy helped her to the bed. She gently stroked her hair and kissed her on the cheek. She sang a lullaby to her. Suddenly, Logan was fast asleep. When she looks at her face. She was at peace.

Sandy remembered how she would sing Logan a lullaby every night when she tucked her into bed. Time has passed so quickly. It seems like only yesterday she was a baby. Now she is a young woman. Sometimes she wishes Logan were still that small baby without a worry in the world. She could hug her and make everything better. Now she feels helpless. Logan was experiencing emotional, mental, and physical pain. Sandy placed her hand on Logan’s head and began saying a healing prayer. The only thing she could do was pray for her. She could not take the headaches away. She recited the prayer. Loving God. I pray you will comfort Logan in her suffering, the skill of the hands of her healers, and bless the means used for a cure. Give her the confident in the power of your grace, that even when she is afraid, she will know that you are with her. She will know that you will never forsake her. Jesus, by your stripes, we are healed. Please heal her mind, body, and spirit. Amen.

Logan awakened with no headache. It was the first time in a long time she did not have a headache. She turned to the side of her bed. She placed her feet on the floor. The floor was carpet. She remembered walking on the beach because of the warmth on her feet. The sugar white sand was warm on her feet and between her toes. She had never been to a beach before. She did not understand how she remembered being there. She remembers the sun on her face and a gentle breeze supplied relief from the heat. The waves were crashing against the shore. What is happening to her? She could not understand why she felt this way. How could she remember something that never happened?

The doorbell rings. She walks downstairs to answer the door. When she opens the door, Charlie is standing there. They had planned a date, and she does not remember. She explained to Charlie that she had just awakened from a nap. She invites him in to sit in the living room while she dresses for the date. A woman walks into her bedroom and puts on clothes. It surprised Charlie to see her dressed casually. He had planned to take her to dinner at Eddie’s Steak and Seafood Restaurant. Eddie’s is a five-star dining restaurant. Charlie explained to Logan that the restaurant was formal and asked if she would change into something more proper.

Logan goes to her bedroom closet and opens the door. The only dress she could find to wear is the one she wore to the prom. She was poor and did not have any elegant clothes to wear. When she walked down the stairs with the dress on. Charlie remembered the night at the prom. It was magical. He knew that dinner tonight would be magical, as well. When she walked into the restaurant, she felt like she had been there before. They covered the tables with white and lace tablecloths. The centerpiece was flowers with a candle. She could not understand because she had never been to a restaurant like that before. She could have never afforded the cost.

The server escorted them to a corner table. The candles supplied a romantic ambiance. Logan felt special. She had never been to an elegant restaurant before. She knew the night would be special. They began the meal with a Shrimp Remoulade. Chilled jumbo shrimp with a creole remoulade sauce. For the main course, they had Tomahawk Ribeye, USDA Prime, bone-in 40oz ribeye, well-marbled for peak flavor. Lobster Mac and cheese, accented with tender, succulent lobster meat. Roasted Brussels sprout with bacon and honey butter. For dessert, they enjoyed a Cream Brulé, classic creole vanilla custard topped with fresh strawberry and blueberry. Charlie had chosen Logan to celebrate this 18th birthday.

Jennifer walks into the restaurant with her family. She made a way to walk past the table of Charlie and Logan. She stared at Logan and made no comment. Logan went to the restroom to wash up before leaving the restaurant. Jennifer followed her into the bathroom. She threatened Logan. This is just a battle; you have not won the war. Enjoy tonight, it will be your last one with Charlie. Logan informed Jennifer that Charlie wanted to be with her and there was nothing she could do about it. Charlie is with me now and no longer wants you. Get a life. Find you a boyfriend and leave me and mine alone. Logan walked out of the bathroom and returned to the table. She knew Jennifer was standing at the bathroom door, watching her. Logan gently kissed Charlie on the cheek and looked back at Jennifer, and smiled. Logan knew she had the upper hand. It was the first time she felt power over Jennifer.

Logan returned home after a wonderful romantic evening with the love of her life. It was an experience she had never had before. It was the first time she had eaten in a fine dining restaurant. The food was amazing. Every time they were together, she felt the magic. The magic of new love. She knew they had not dated long enough for her to have such powerful feelings for Charlie. They had only been dating for three months. Just being with him filled her world with happiness that would never end. When she is with him, she feels safe and no one, especially Jennifer, can hurt her. She feels like her life, emotions, and dreams are entwined with him. It connected them at the soul. He is her soulmate. Every time she thinks of Jennifer hurting him, she becomes upset and wishes to protect him.

Logan takes a shower. While in the shower, the water turns to blood. They covered her with blood all over her body. She screams. Sandy tried to go into the bathroom. The door is locked, and she cannot get in. She bangs on the door for Logan to open the door and let her come in. Logan quickly jumps out of the shower and puts on a towel. She opens the door and asked Sandy what was wrong. Sandy informed her she was screaming. Logan could remember nothing about the incident. She suddenly gets a headache. Sandy helps her from the bathroom to her bed. She lays in the bed and starts getting nausea. Sandy brings her a bowl to vomit in. Logan started vomiting and sweating. Sandy places a wet rag on her head. Then she calls Doctor Collier. They informed her to take Logan to the emergency room.

Logan gets up out of bed and faints. Sandy cannot get her to the Emergency Room. She calls for the ambulance to come and aid with Logan. The ambulance arrives and Logan is still passing out on the floor. Sandy explained that she had a severe headache, sweating, and fainted. The Emergency Medical Technician assessed Logan. Her blood pressure was normal. Her heart rate and temperature were elevated. They started an IV and fluids. She was given medicine for the headache and was admitted into the hospital for test.

They gave Logan a blood test. CT scans of the chest, sinuses, and head. She was on blood pressure and heart monitoring. A bacterial infection of the lining of the brain and spinal cord causes the test results to show that she has a rare condition, Meningitis. Meningitis B can affect otherwise healthy people without warning. It can progress quickly and potentially fatally. The long-term consequences include brain damage, hearing loss and loss of limbs. The bacteria that cause Meningitis B lives in the nose and throat. They can spread it through close contact, such as coughing, kissing, or sneezing. People can have the bacteria and experience no symptoms. Logan was treated with intravenous antibiotics, corticosteroids, and pain medicine. They gave the corticosteroids to prevent brain swelling. Doctor Collier explained to Sandy and Logan the results of the test. Doctor Collier explained to them it was contagious. If not treated, it could be fatal. They would have to wait until they completed the treatment to figure out if she would have long-lasting effects.
