Chapter 9

Dylan walked over to the side and sat while Carl sat by his side.

She looked at him and smiled seeing a guy driving.

"He is this rich. He has a driver and still walks." She thought.

"Mam, are you set?" The person driving asked and she smiled.

 "Yes I am." She replied.

She turned to look at Dylan who wasn't looking at her.

Dylan smiled knowing she was about to meet the love of her life.

His friend who is driving needs a woman and he is ready to pair Carl with his friend.

He felt good that his friend is wealthy to a point to be able to afford a comfortable life for Carl. He could only hope that Carl gets to like his friend quickly.

Carl looked at him again as he wasn't looking at her.

"Dylan!" She called and he looked at her.

 "Yes Carl." He said.

She smiled noticing that he didn't put the respect he had always put in her name whenever he calls her.

"Why aren't you looking at me. Remember you asked me out on a date and not the other way." She said and Dylan smiled nodding his head.

"Yes I did and I am so sorry for leaving you alone." He said and she smiled.

 "Alright." She said.

Minutes later the car packed out of a building and Dylan got down from the car. He walked over to where Carl was and opened the door for her.

Carl got down the car smiling with the flower with her.

"Am I to drop it in?" She asked indicating should she drop the flower in the car.

"Your wish." Dylan said and she decided to take the flower in.

 Getting in, she looked around.

There could be seen guys with their ladies. Some of them were dancing, some discussing and some were enjoying their meal.

The person who drove them also entered minutes later and went to sit alone.

Carl smiled imaging that he was given his free will to sit there.

Dylan walked to her minutes later and offered her a bottle of champagne while he took a normal drink.

He knows the effect which Campagne can have on him.

After having some sip, Carl looked straight into Dylan's eyes.

"Why don't you have a sip of my Campagne?" She asked as she thought on how unusual he is acting.

Dylan couldn't say no but he needed a way out. He can't take champagne.

For a person who hasn't taken Campagne for sixteen years, how was he going to behave if he takes it.

He remembered when he took champagne before his mother left his father. He was 12 years of age then and his mother had told him that a strong man drinks it.

"This is what a strong man drinks. Your father can't drink this because he is weak." His mother said.

He remembered his mother forcing him to drink it and this almost led to him sleeping with her.

 Back to the present,

"Dylan!" Carl called again and he smiled.

 "Alright Carl." He said.

He knew what to do in order to stop her from giving him.

Carl brought a glass close to his mouth and the glass tripped but Dylan was quick to hold the glass cup.

"Oh my goodness. I am so sorry." Carl said covering her mouth as she stood up.

"No, do not worry. I will get someone to clean it up." Dylan said and Carl nodded sitting back.

Dylan winked to his friend who was watching them from afar then left.

He planned on disguising as the cleaner in order to give space for his friend to speak to Carl.

He walked away from Carl promising to return soon.

Carl felt really bad that she almost ruined the date.

"Hi." The driver said coming close to her and she could not help but frown.

"What do you want?" She asked the man.

"My name is Steven." The man said stretching out his hand to Carl but she refused giving him her hand.

When Steven saw that it was a waste of time waiting for her handshake, he walked to the side Dylan had gotten up from.

"Wow, I am sure the cleaner is going to clean up this place." He said looking at Carl.

"You are beautiful." He said looking at her.

"Aren't you meant to be by the car?" Carl asked and he smiled.

 "Why is that?" He asked.

"You are the driver." Carl said and Steven smiled knowing that she thinks he drives for his friend.

"It is mine so I drive it." He said.

Carl opened her mouth as she couldn't understand what he was saying.

"I am going to inform your boss." She said.

"In New York city." Steven said and Carl could only wonder who he is.

"What's your relationship with Dylan?" She asked.

"Dylan is my friend." He said. "I chose to drive him today so as to see a beauty like you." Steven said and began to drool over her.

Dylan who was watching from afar saw Carl move like she didn't want any discussion with Steven.

He walked to the table and started cleaning.

He is happy Carl does not recognize him.

After cleaning the table, he is about to walk away when Carl calls him.

"Have any clue where Dylan is?" She ask him.

He looks at Steven and walks away without saying a word to her.

"That is quiet rude." Carl says.

She brings out her phone and dials Dylan number but no answer.

"I know that you are rich and influential and it makes me happy. I only want to date.." Steven was saying when Carl stopped him.

"I don't want to date you. I want to date him." She said.

"Have any idea why he brought you here?" He asked getting Carl pissed off.

Seeing this, Dylan vowed to get a different girl for his friend and match make Carl with another person.

He walks to them and clears his throat.

"Can I talk to you, friend?" Dylan asked and Steven got up and followed Dylan.

"I promise to get you another girl. She is getting pissed off." Dylan says to Steven as they get away from Carl.

Steven looks at Dylan then at his friends who Dylan has matchmaked then nodded.

 "Alright." He said.

Dylan starts walking back to meet Carl but Steven calls him back.

"Why can't you make her yours guy?" Steven asked but Dylan smiles and walks away.

"Are you the car owner?" Carl ask when Dylan have his sit.

"No, I am not." Dylan answered randomly.

Carl bowed her face to the ground thinking of how she made herself fall in love with Dylan.

"I need to go." She said minutes later giving Dylan the flower.

"I need you to follow me home so my parents will think I had a good time with you." She said and Dylan smiled.

"Aren't you to have the flower?" Dylan asked and Carl collected the flower.

"Hold on." He said and walked to Steven who agreed to drive her back to her house.

"Let's go." Steven said walking to his car.

Carl looked at Dylan and asked if Steven wasn't angry with them.

"He isn't." Dylan answered and Carl nodded.

They both entered the back and Steven drove the car.

Getting to her house, she got down from the car smiling and waved the both guys.

"Am I still going to see you?" Dylan asked and Carl nodded.

"Yes, you are. We are still cool." Carl said and waved them as the car drove off.

She smiled as she walked inside. She felt assured that Dylan liked her and was going to propose to her soon.

"I don't need to be afraid. I love Dylan." She said as she walked into the house.

"Welcome home Carl." Her mother said stretching out her hands to her daughter who hugged her tight.

 "Thank you, Mom." Carl said

"How did the date go?" Mrs. Robin asked.

"It went well, Mom." Carl said.

"You are back so early." Her Mother said and Carl smiled.

"He was called by someone at home telling him that he needs to be home soon." She lied.

"Alright, you should go have some rest." Her mother said and she nodded going inside.

She picked up her phone as she taught of the next day.

The next day was going to be a day of worship but she wasn't ready to go to church.

"God, look on me and let Dylan be mine." She said then closed her eyes to take a nap.

She opens her eyes thirty minutes later.

She goes to freshen up after which she wears a light gown then walks out to meet her mom and dad.

 "Dad!" She greets.

"How was your date?" Her father asked and she nodded.

"It was great, Dad." She said.

"Your mom told me that he dropped you off early because he had an issue at home." Her father said and she nodded.

 "Yes Dad." She said.

"Now we know who your boyfriend is, we will allow you move to your house." Her mother said.
