Chapter 9: PROPHECY 2

"Who's your mate?" I was about to sit on my throne next to my mother when the king of Berbantes interrupted. I raised an eyebrow right away. They appear to be eager.

"King Ozyrus, would you like to sit down first?
" mother asked calmly because he had just entered the big door and asked immediately.

Uncle and I exchanged glances when we realized our solution to the mortal's scent appeared to be working.
The visiting kings and queens of the world's kingdoms don't seem to notice anything. My previous nervousness has now been replaced by complacency.

But this is not something we should always do because what if my illness returns and he is hidden underground or he is not unconscious, and we forcibly return him there, I am sure he will be mad.

"Don't make us wait any longer, Zaliah, it's crucial that she introduce her mate to us, and if we decide he doesn't deserve her, here is my son!
" ", he insisted to my mother. He appears to be losing respect. If he doesn't remember, he's in our kingdom!

They are completely unaware of my condition.
All they knew was that I had a mate. Don't be surprised if they appear to be interfering because this is important to them because our prophecy states that the born royal vampire with the power to manipulate nature must match anyone who can give her offspring.

The offspring who is destined to rule and replace the Goddess on the moon.

That's why they want to pair their sons with me.
You have no idea how chaotic everyone was when I was born because so much time has passed and I am the only vampire capable of manipulating nature. If there is no replacement for the Moon Goddess. We're all going to die. The Goddess is the source of our existence. We are all marked by its light in order to live in this world.

They're not going to let me be with a mortal.
It's a major family secret that I find difficult to accept. How I am destined to bear a child for the continuation of our race, but also to be with a mortal. That always makes me miserable. The one who was supposed to explain everything to us died before he could even say why.

My grandfather died before he could tell my uncle, mother, and me everything.
So far, we don't have an answer. We only knew I couldn't live without that mortal by my side.

"It would be better for my son to marry the Zecillion princess, and for his descendants to inherit the power of the snow!
" the queen of the kingdom of Salizte stood up from her seat immediately after saying these words.

They will fight hard for their sons because it is an honor for them to have a bloodline of their own destined to replace the Goddess of the Moon.
It was an incentive for them.

"The kingdom of Calixtas will not concede!
" King Arthur also stood up after a loud protest.

And it was followed by five more queens and kings at the long table.
They're battling about who I should be married with. I can already feel the tension throughout the room. It didn't take long for sharp fangs to emerge.

Uncle was about to stand up to stop them when there was a loud thunderclap.
While we were on our throne, it began to rain on the long table. The sudden wetness immediately put an end to the fighting. Uncle's petty laugh erupted quickly as a result of what my mother had done, but she sat calmly between us.

Our guests wanted to snort, but they chosed to sit as the heavy rain continued to fall.
Even though their clothes were soaked, no one was howling. Meet the Queen of the Zecillions. She was the only designated champion of the Goddess of the Moon in the tournament a millennium ago, so she is greatly feared. My mother rose calmly from her throne, staring at the drenched visitors.

"You forgot you were royalties," she said, pausing for a moment.

"The way you argue appears to be like lowly creatures making a fuss about a wolf fight!
" she exclaimed in front of the guests, looking at them one by one.

We can say they are afraid of my queen mother and our family.
Still, we have many enemies, many are waiting for the opportunity to take us down whenever they can. When the truth is revealed, many of our enemies will take action. And, as the Goddess of the Moon's champion, it is her duty to keep the peace, so she cannot tell the truth and insist on accepting the mortal because there will undoubtedly be chaos.

We knew they didn't like us and that their hearts were filled with rage.
We are well aware that our kingdom has no allies. They only complied out of fear for my mother and the fact that I was destined to give birth to the goddess's successor.

"Didn't you realize my daughter already has a mate?
" mother's tone was calm but firm. The rain began to subside in their place . Signs that my mother has calmed down and is ready to talk again.

"We have the right to know who he is because, remember, we are all affected by this!
" declared the king of Les Padas emphatically. He quickly dried up because his power was blazing fire.

I saw how other guests looked at him with envy because they were still wet and cold.
When I saw the king of Berbantes suppressing his chills, I smiled lightly.

"Remember that it is preferable if her mate is a royalty because we do not want the child to be stained with the blood of slaves and common creatures!
" I narrowed my gaze at the queen who made such a statement. Their kingdom is the one we despise the most, and they don't even try to hide it.

"My daughter will love whoever she wants to love!
" mother exclaimed emphatically. What she said made me sad because I didn't have the freedom to love whomever I wanted because of my illness. I rely solely on that mortal. The queen's eyes immediately turned red, indicating her staunch resistance.

"Remember, there will be chaos!
You will not always be the strongest; all creatures have weaknesses!" she said emphatically as she locked her gaze on my mother. I saw my mother clench her fist behind her back. Mother refuses to show how pissed she is by the queen of Nordalez's statement.

"You'll get tired of waiting for that day, Marayca!
" mother exclaimed emphatically. The queen of Nordalez was immediately shaken, but she clearly wanted to explode. I became even more concerned about their reactions. It's terrifying what could happen if they discover our secret.

Our race is so angry with mortals that they won't like to know how many times we've crossed over there.
They will hate even more the idea that there is mortal just beneath this kingdom's ground.

I couldn't help but feel terrified.
I can't help but feel enraged at the prospect of being the one cursed by this prophecy. There are watchful eyes on me. Why me, out of all the vampires on this world?

"My daughter's mate is a prince!
" mother exclaimed quickly, and I looked at her. No way, mother! Don't say anything like that! I felt like I wanted to pull my mother away from what she was saying. I knew she was lying, so there would be no further discussion.

"Do you think we'll reveal his identity?
I know you'll do something to make him disappear and be replaced!" mother stated in front of them, and even though I couldn't see her, I could tell she was grinning.

I immediately looked at uncle, who smiled as if he agreed with my mother.
Our visitors appeared to be staring more intently because mother seemed to be aware about what they were thinking. My queen mother, you will never lose my praise.

"My child will give birth without you knowing who her mate is!
" mother exclaimed emphatically.

"ENTRANTE!
THAT'S NOT POSSIBLE! IT'S AS IF YOU DON'T EVEN RESPECT OUR PRESENCE IN THIS WORLD!" screamed King Zakarias. Resistance and rage from other guests is also noticeable, and the atmosphere in this large room becomes even heavier. One of them was about to attack but was immediately halted.

"That's enough!
Just let them!" queen Marayca exclaimed, looking at me with a threatening grin. My brow furrowed immediately. What are you trying to insinuate?

"They treat us like this now because of their position, but the day will come when we will discover!
" a contemptuous smile flashed across her face as she said what appeared to be a warning and challenge to us.

"There will come a time when we will be the ones to win!
" she declared harshly. I could see mother's palm open on her back and her sharp nails releasing instantly as if ready to sink into anyone. And I was completely overcome with nervousness and fear at the time.

This is a total disaster!
