Chapter 7: ENTRANTE

VREIHYA'S P.O.V

His strong and aggressive stroking gradually starting to weaken.
I kept sucking his blood as I noticed my eyes were becoming even hotter. I can't deny that there's something in his blood.

I deepen my bite on him even more.
I'm hooked to his blood, it's sweet for my taste and has a pleasant fragrance. I want more! I'm not sure why my eyes spontaneously closed when I realized his blood was flowing deep within me.

What is it about this creature that makes me so obsessed with the taste and smell of his blood?
He isn't the first person I've tasted, but he's the most distinct and sweet to my taste. I want more! I'd like to drink more. To me, every sip of his blood felt like an addiction. Your blood is so delectable!

I felt his slow and heavy breath hit my back for a few more seconds because I hugged him while my sharp fangs buried in his neck.
I was about to finish him just in case there was anything left, when I heard the door open loudly and the sound of plates and glasses falling.

"VREIHYA!
" mother's scream immediately echoed throughout the room. She quickly got to the corner where I was consuming the blood of this creature. With mother's strength she immediately pulled me away from the seemingly lifeless creature.

BLAG!

I was immediately taken aback when my back hit the concrete wall of the dark room.
I immediately fell to the floor as I heard mother lift the mortal. I immediately turned my gaze to him.

"WHAT IS THIS STUPIDITY YOU'RE DOING?
" mother exclaimed, concerned about the mortal whose arms hung as if they were a piece of lifeless paper. I stood up from my slump on the cold floor and wiped away the blood that was softly flowing from my lips.

"Perhaps if I consumed his blood mother, I wouldn't need him anymore," I quickly replied to her question.
When mother's eyes changed color as soon as she heard what I said, I was immediately nervous. Her stare at me was intense.

"You're a fool, Vreihya!
If you're not sure, why do you have to kill him? What if he dies and what you're saying will not really work? Haven't you figured out what will happen to you as well?" mother's words immediately silenced me. I had no desire to fight her.

My dear queen mother has my undying admiration.
But, as much as I tried to stop, his blood is extremely addictive. The first time it touched my tongue, I lost control of myself. I liked how there seemed to be a mixture in his blood that I end up liking.

"Mother, I'm sorry,  I'm not thinking right," I gently replied, knowing there was no point in defending my reasoning and instead choosing to be humble.

I looked at the mortal, who was still in my mother's arms, as his blood stained her clothes.
I can't feel his breathing anymore. His heartbeat was no longer loud enough for me to hear. Did I already murder him?

I'm not sure why, but I'm overwhelmed with remorse.
Vreihya! What was going through your mind when you did this? Mother also appeared to be aware that the mortal in her arms appeared to be lifeless. She lowered the mortal to the floor and waved in the air.

"Astra Verde Salye," mother prayed, and then water condensed in front of her.
It gets bigger and brighter with each stroke.

The blue light from the water she was releasing gradually filled the previously dark room.
I turned to face the mortal, whose face was gradually turning pale. I also thoroughly examined him. His physical appearance should not be underestimated.

His face appeared to have been carved by a divine sculptor.
So this is how peaceful he looks when he is unconscious. I couldn't help but admire him just as much as when we first met when we were kids, but I dismissed it right away. He is still human, no matter how stunning he is!

"Alonzo!
Come here, the mortal is about to die!" mother exclaimed as she noticed uncle Alonzo in the water portal. Uncle didn't even say anything before vanishing through the portal. Our clothes were slightly blown away by the sudden gust of wind as uncle entered the room.

He immediately focused his attention on what appeared to be a corpse on the cold floor.
Then his cold gaze fell on me. I quickly lowered my head.

"Vreihya!
What did you do?" uncle asked coldly. It is impossible to deny that he and mother are siblings because they are both authoritative. Mother's circular water portal keeps rotating. She doesn't take it down just to have more light in the room because the big window doesn't let in enough moonlight.

Uncle didn't even attempt to pulse the mortal because he couldn't hear his heart throbbing any longer.
This time I was at a loss for what to do. What I did was wrong because I let go of my rage at him too much. What would happen if I killed him and I didn't get well? You are not thinking correctly Vreihya!

"Ezme...
Tare... Zalde," uncle quickly uttered a prayer as if chasing time.

I immediately turned to see uncle's eye had completely turned white.
A strong wind hit us once more. Uncle's power force had also caused mother's water portal to splash around.

The air in the room gradually circled, forming what appeared to be a small whirlwind, and I saw a creature step out of it.
Her surprise was obvious, but when she saw Uncle, her demeanor immediately changed.

"Macara, I need your aid, this mortal's life is in danger," uncle said as his eyes returned to normal.
The babaylan wasted no more time. She is the one in whom my family has placed its trust for millennia.

She moved so quickly across the floor where the man was lying that we couldn't tell if was still alive.
Mother immediately stopped her gesture as Macara softly whispered to her cane to shine in exchange for mother's lost water portal.

Macara placed her palm on the mortal's chest.
After a few more seconds she immediately looked at us in horror.

"He won't last long!
" there is a warning in her words.

"I'm not going to let this happen!
" uncle exclaimed harshly. I attempted to approach my mother because I noticed she appeared to have lost her balance, but I immediately gripped my chest.

"Ah!
mo-mother," I knelt immediately as my chest hurt. It's not possible. A sharp object appeared to be piercing my chest. Is my illness returning? If I feel this again, it means that my attempt to drink his blood was useless.

I felt uncle's rapid descent approaching me to support me as I fell to the floor.
Tears welled up in my eyes as I struggled to breathe with each beat of my heart, which seemed to be pierced by thousands of daggers.

"Macara!
Help us!" mother exclaimed, who couldn't help but cry when she saw my condition again. The agony, the struggle, the hardship. My fist clenched, causing my nail to sink into my palm. I'm in a lot of pain. As the abundant blood flowed, I felt Macara lift my clenched fist.

"Your Majesty, bring the creature here!
" Macara demanded urgently. Uncle immediately waved his hand, and the mortal rose from his lying position. Macara sat on the floor and requested that the body be placed on her. Macara removed my closure to my bleeding fist as she held it. She pressed my palm against the mortal's mouth, allowing the copious blood to drip onto his lips.

I hissed as the pain in my chest seemed to double.
Uncle's grip on me tightened. When I started shivering, I couldn't control my body any longer. My eyes immediately welled up with tears.

"Engrede...
De selvye... Alcalus!"

"Engrede...De selvye... Alcalus!"

"Engrede... De selvye... Alcalus!" Macara repeated, getting louder with each pronunciation. Despite my deteriorating vision and blurred vision, my hearing was sharpened. Every drop of my blood on his lips was audible to me. At the same time, I noticed that he was breathing slowly. At the same time, the pain in my chest was gradually dispersing.

"Engrede...
De selvye... Alcalus!"

"Engrede...
De selvye... Alcalus!" Macara continued to pray.

His breathing continued as if he had been resurrected. Those breaths seemed to caress my heart to its core at the same time. The recent serious illness has been replaced by calmness. My trembling was replaced by a serenity.

Uncle's previously tight grip on me loosened.
This is the times that I realized the truth. I can't survive without him. Every breath he takes equals the length of my life. What's the point of it all? Why should I have to rely on a weak creature like him? What is the force that binds us together?

Macara stopped whispering when she realized the mortal appeared to have life.
Despite the fact that my body was still weak, I could see how weak my mother was sitting on the floor with tears in her eyes. She was dazed, but she had a calm expression on her face.

I was so overcome with remorse that I nearly abandoned my beloved mother.
This should not have happened to her. My condition has never reassured her, and this is what I will give her in exchange?

Forgive me, mother, for repeatedly appearing to kill you with worry.
I wanted to stand up and hug her, but I couldn't find the strength to do so. As I looked at my mother, who still didn't seem to be returning to her will, I could only think of one thing. I guarantee you, mother, that today will be the last day you cry worried tears. I will never again take a step that will cause you grief and fear.

I love you my queen Mother.

-------------------------------------------------

A few hours had passed since that heinous event. Uncle immediately placed the mortal in a comfortable room where he could rest. I wanted to rest as well, but we learned that other rulers from various kingdoms were coming here. We had to prepare to meet them, and I immediately frowned because I expected a lengthy discussion at that meeting.

"Vreihya!
" I immediately felt the air cool when I met uncle in the hallway I was walking down. I bowed down once more because I was expecting harsh reminders and correction from him. Uncle was mother's companion in raising me. As a result, I hold a high regard for him. The authority he possesses simply by virtue of his position is not to be taken lightly.

Uncle slowly extended his left palm, as if he needed something from me.
I immediately removed my gold ring and placed it on his waiting palm. I couldn't help but stare at uncle, whose face had not changed since I was a child. There are no visible signs of aging. He appears to be my older brother, as does my mother.

Uncle quickly whispered at the ring on his palm as the wind blew my hair and our clothes away, but it also vanished after he whispered.
He handed me the ring right away, and I put it on again, but it wasn't as special as before.

"I'm withdrawing the power I lent you because you might use it to harm that mortal," he insisted.
In our world, the royal bloods of each kingdom have a variety of powers that ordinary creatures do not have. It is no longer difficult to deduce that uncle has the power of the wind.

We can bestow limited power on our other noble blood relatives by blessing their jewelry.
I winced as uncle was completely right because I had already used his power when the creature argued with me, resulting in his body being thrown against the dungeon's concrete wall.

"Come with me to the garden Vreihya!
" I immediately looked at uncle's perfect face. He immediately gave me a sweet smile. The tension that had previously existed between us as a result of my stupidity had been replaced by a more relaxed atmosphere. Uncle was well aware that the garden was my favorite spot in our vast palace.

We both used our speed to get to the garden.
When we arrived I was immediately greeted by a gentle breeze. Nothing else enters my mind but serenity whenever I see the blooming flowers in our garden. It's too broad because this space is primarily just for me.

I planted flowers and trees that could only be found in this world in our garden.
Every tree and plant has its own meaning, which I love to share with guests who come to our palace.

"Vreihya, what are you waiting for?
" Uncle inquired gently. I no longer hesitated and leaped, and as soon as my feet touched the green grass, small pink flowers sprouted.

I turned around tenderly and cupped my palms as my both hands were raised, and I immediately waved my hand upwards as enormous green veins emerged from beneath the ground.

Gigantic green roots followed my movement and clumped together in the middle of the air.
The others circled around until it resembled a dome, which uncle and I were inside.

We're seemed to be inside a cave made of plant roots.
I waved my hands again and sprang up a round small table along with two chairs on either side wrapped with different colors and style of flowers and leaves.

Various butterflies and insects began to enter my dome, and soon they released a light that illuminated the darkness.
Uncle took the seat next to him. I sat down in the empty seat as soon as I heard uncle clear his throat.

I immediately braced myself for any reprimand from my uncle, whose magnificent feature had not yet faded.
It's no longer difficult to imagine how many women lined up for him.

"Vreihya, remember that they shouldn't know you have a mortal for a mate," Uncle said calmly but emphatically referring to the meeting for later.
The Zecillion family is this worlds' most powerful aristocratic family. It's easy to imagine that if we were the strongest and the ruler, we'd have a slew of enemies waiting for the chance to strike.

"By the time they discover your mate is mortal, expect it to be bloody; just remember what happened earlier; by the time he dies, you will die with him," he said calmly but seriously.

I couldn't help but be terrified by what Uncle said.
Our enemies will almost certainly go to any length to capture or kill that mortal.

More precautions are needed because our family is aware that we also have enemies who masquerade as our allies.
But I'll never forget what uncle said because that mortal seemed to be a burden to me; we had to hide him and take care of him so that he and I wouldn't be harmed.

"Our problem right now, Vreihya, is whether the mortal will work with us after what you did; what if he surrenders himself because I can see that he would rather die than marry you," he threatened, raising his finger to perch a butterfly on it.

I immediately turned to face uncle.
My entire body was immediately enveloped in fear. "Entrante!" I yelled. It is a slang term that we use when we are angry or have strong emotions. The fresh plants around us quickly dried up. The previous green roots that encircled our dome quickly withered.

That can't be!
What if he actually kills himself as a result of what I did to him? We gradually felt as the light returned. My dome and the flowers in it withered continuously before it finally turned to ashes and was blown away by the wind. Our seat and table, on the other hand, were withered but firmly supported our weight.

"How and what shall I do, uncle?
" I asked, worried, as if the sky had fallen on me. That is a possibility. Vreihya! You have no brain! Most likely after you almost kill him he will definitely do that.

"He must not know that if he dies, I will share the same fate!
" was all I could say to my uncle, but despite my nervousness, he was just sitting in front of me on his seat.

"What if he kills himself because of his strong resistance?
" he mumbled. I cocked my brow. Uncle, are you really concerned about me? Why is your tone sounded so relaxed?

I felt like I was being splashed with ice cold water.
This is the first time I've had a fear like this. I was a strong and courageous woman, but I was terrified. What is there in this tumultuous world? Was it fate that I must have a weakness because I was a strong creature?

In my deep thought, I was startled when my arm, which was lying on the round table, was injured.
Immediately, a large amount of blood flowed from it. Sharp thorns appeared on the table made of plant roots as a result of the intensity of my emotions.

I raised my arm, dripping fresh blood onto the table.
When the blood laded on the table, it immediately turned green, and a flower with an unusual color and circular design sprouted. My attention was drawn for a brief moment, but my problem returned when I smelled the mortal's scent.

Wait!
Stop! I can smell the mortal!

I can smell him!
Which means-

At the same time that my chair burned to ashes, I leapt from my seat.
If I could smell him, I'm sure the guests would as well. Everyone will go crazy, and my secret will be revealed soon! He also stood up in his seat and appeared to be smelling the mortal's scent as well. We exchanged glances, as if we were thinking the same thing. That can't be!

"This is going to make a fuss!
" uncle stated.

"If I could control his fragrance in the air for our slaves in the palace so that we could hide him, the guests however would surely know that there is a mortal in our palace!
" he exclaimed loudly.

The familiar shivers I'd felt earlier had become even more powerful.
How can we mask his scent?
