Chapter 6: What's Your Story

It's been two weeks since that awful day. My life was now work and work. I was almost done with my book. But I needed to sleep. I haven't been sleeping.

It was 2 am and I ended up falling asleep on the desk. I was very tired to walk to my bedroom. This was comfy too. I think.

I woke up around 10 am and I was in my bedroom. Did I sleepwalk? I went to do my routine then went downstairs. The table was set and there was pancakes, bacon and coffee.

"You're full of surprises. You protect me, you're a great driver and you can cook. Anything else?" I asked while sitting on the the chair.

"If I tell you It would be unprofessional." He gave me a devilish smirk. Oh boy. "But since you've been busy, I figure I would make breakfast. I am your bodyguard/roommate. I cant just sit around and do nothing."

"Thank you and thanks for putting me on my bed. I've been so focus on this book I haven't eaten or sleep properly." I said as I put coffee in my mug.

"You're welcome. I figured you didn't want to wake up with a neck ache." He answered while sitting on the stool.

"Uhm, come here. You're not gonna eat over there alone. We've been through this already." He just chuckled and sat next to me.

"So, what's your story Lance. I dont know anything about you."

"Well, not much to tell. My dad left my mom when she told him she was pregnant with me. He was never in the picture, never came back for us. When I reached 18 I decided that college wasn't for me. So I became a bodyguard. Then I worked with your dad as his bodyguard."

"The pay was really good. So I made sure to work better everyday. A year later I moved to a better place with my mom. She's everything to me. And that's my story."

"You're a great guy, Lance. Your mother must be very proud. Isn't she sad that you're living here?"

"She understood. And I call her everyday. And since I'm living here, I called aunt Trisha to keep her company. She lives alone 30 minutes away from here. She never had kids. Her husband died three years ago. But now she's keeping mom company. Maybe someday they can live together. And me finding my own place."

"True, At least they have each other while you're here." I replied before eating my bacon. He just nodded.

"Have you ever tried locating your dad?"

"No, I'm not one bit curious either. He left us so I have no business in looking for that sperm donor." He said so nonchalant.

"True. Well, you're better off without him. Thanks for sharing your story with me." I mentioned as he just smiled.

"Now tell me yours." He asked.

"Well, my biological mom died giving birth to me. Dad met my mom when I was 4 years old. When I turned 5, I asked her if I could call her mom. She said yes and I was the happiest girl on earth. I love her."

"They gave me this locket when I turned 10 years old." I opened the locket and Inside was a picture of the three of us. It was the one where I was squishing my mom's cheeks and dad was pulling me away while laughing.

"They told me it was for a photoshoot but I wouldn't cooperate cause I kept being goofy." I just laughed and so did he.

"Toddler Sophia, was really adorable." He smiled. I just looked at him and got lost in his eyes.

I broke off from his gaze, "thank you." I smiled. "And you know how the rest goes. Cheating boyfriend, Jason being a jerk and so on."

"Well, you're free from them. They're both tools. And thank you for sharing your story. It was interesting and cute." We both chuckled.

After we finished our breakfast. We left the house. I wanted to relax. I told him to drive us to Mystic Lake. Since dad has a house there. I want to relax. Not listening to cars, nothing. Just me and nature. I've always loved nature.

Three hours later we arrived at the lake. We got out of the car and went inside the house. I was already feeling relaxed.

I have clothes here, So I changed into a bikini. I went outside and gave him one of my dad's shorts. He eyed me up and down and then returned to the guest room. I just chuckled. Point for moi.

A few minutes later he came outside and hot damn. You could see his V line. I bit my lower lip from all the unholy thoughts that came to mind. He just smirked and walked away. Okay point for Lance.

"I used to pretend I was a mermaid when I was little. I still love mermaids." I said as I float on the lake. The water was so delicious.

"Well, this place is very relaxing. All your worries go away." He added as he swam towards me.

"Anyone ever told you you're extremely sexy?" I said to him.

"A lot of people. They actually wanted me to be a model. That life is not for me. I prefer the simple life."

"Being a bodyguard is not simple. Is it?"

"Sometimes and others gets messy while protecting the other person. But I guess you have to be passionate about it. I was in messy situation once, but it never drove me away from keep working as a bodyguard."

"Someday I might even open a school to teach how to defend yourself and how to get out of messy situations."

"I think that's a great goal to have. You should pursue that dream." I told him.

"I will. But for now, I'm enjoying my job." He said before getting out of the lake. There goes one sexy guy. Someone help me from not getting my hands on him. He is definitely, sex on legs.
