LOVE ECLIPSE

CHAPTER 1

CHAPTER 1

The setting sun looked beautiful as it called out to the hiding moon. Feeling low and out, the sun raised his hand for the moon to hold it, before he loses himself to the drowning darkness. The relation they shared was one of the unheard stories! While the moon was always accompanied by the stars in all the proses, myths and poetries; the sun found himself all alone. But nobody took the pain to narrate the tale of sacrificial love and understanding of the Sun and the Moon – one of it’s kind and still left unsaid over the blanket of time. This is how they found themselves like the Sun and the Moon- one waiting to sacrifice his light for the other, other ready to curb her existence in his presence and together reflect the light of peaceful contentment.

The bright shining moon looked sad and lone to Him, even as she was busy reflecting the light of her beloved, making the world know of his silent presence.

“What are you looking at?

“Nothing Maa, just comparing my emptiness to the moon’s loneliness, and trying to figure out which one is more deeper?

“What are you speaking about? I cannot understand anything!

“I am speaking about myself and my feelings, Maa. I don’t know why but I feel a growing emptiness inside me. Like something is missing, like my soul is calling out to someone and in the presence of that void I feel lost. Wandering in the unknown land. Looking for the unknown. Losing myself in this trail.

“You are overthinking things again! Stop and get some sleep”

“But Maa….

“And if you still want to know the unknown, and trudge deeper in the mystery, then look for answers within. Remember the worst and the most tangled questions are the ones whose answers are somewhere hidden deep within but you keep seeking for them in the outer world.” With that she wished him a good night and left him alone with his questions and answers.

After she left him alone, he kept looking at the moon and accompanied moon in the wait for the sun. A wait whose length and time-line was unknown but the joy in the wait was something they both cherished the feeling of the unknown.

The whole idea of the romance between the Sun and the Moon felt foreign to her. She never saw or heard about the whole ordeal of the sensuous-sacrificial romance between the duo. The whole thing came to her as a fantasy woven by the idle minds of fantasy fanatics. For her, what was real was the bond of stars and the moon, where the billions of stars dimmed their light and accompanied the lone moon making her feel the blessings of universe surrounding her.

All that being said and admitted, there was no denial of the fact that she had applications like Wattpad, Inkiit and The Storytellers installed in her cellphone, whose application library was full of the fantasy world, which both excited and enthralled her.

With another such story opened on her phone, she waited in her small office cabin for the next patient to visit her.

“Sonakshi”

“Dr. Rehan to what do I owe this pleasure of your visit in my office?

“I come bearing the news of another patient complaining about the limit of your strictness and rudeness.

“So finally, that oldie Batra found his way to your office.” She asked smirking “I thought better of him. According to my judgement he should have paid you a visit by the third week of his diet. Well, took him five long weeks before I could get rid of him.

“That is not the way a doctor should behave with his or her patient Sonakshi.

“Well, the same rule applies to the patient. A patient should religiously follows what the doctor advices, instead of overruling the doctor and then question his or her capabilities.

“You can never force the patient to follow your plans, he may have his own different point-of-view. You should learn to respect it.

“Not if the patient questions the doctor’s capabilities based on his or her sex. My sex has nothing to do with my degree.

“Sona, you need to understand you cannot rule or change anyone’s thoughts, ideas or opinions. Treat them like pigeon shit, the fall on you, you find them useless, you wipe it off with tissue and move on.

“If you know they are pigeon shit why do you send them to me?

“Because you know your job the best. And the patients needs to have the best medicines.

“Well, medicines that cure are bitter. If they need and want to get well, they need to follow my instructions, rather than bitching about my gender, caste, creed or religion.

“You are untameable.

She just grinned at her senior’s comment or as she would say compliment. “So what’s next? Should I just pack my bag and leave?

“That you may for now. Because I am sure enough that I’ll have some new patient waiting in your office soon enough. Just please behave with him or her this time.

“I never bite unless someone barks, and you always send the dogs to me to straighten them up. Please send me a human patient and I’ll be the respectable doctor that my other patients know me as.” With that she picked up her bag and made her way out of the office, leaving behind a proud senior.
