Chapter 5

After that, there's a long stretch of silence between the two of us. No one dared to speak again, maybe because we're lost of words or maybe because there's nothing to say anymore.

I am busy texting Addison right now, asking her if she's already home.

Addison:

Not yet, we're almost there. What about you? Are you fine in there?

I sighed.

How can I be fine? I just got from a scandal that made me become a laughing stock to everyone here in the United Kingdom, and now... what? I just made another stupidity that would probably gonna get me killed.

"Kia?" Suddenly, Prince Jacques spoke making me surprise that I almost fell from my chair. I think he heard the noise that the chair made that's why his eyebrows met in confusion.

"What?" I tried to sound like I'm annoyed but I am just really embarrassed. If he saw that I almost fell, he would laugh at me, that's for sure.

I am the kidnapper here but I'm chickening out. This is hilarious.

"Can you remove my blindfold? I think my eyes will be ruin. I actually need to keep my eyes twenty-twenty as possible. I can't wear glasses in young age." He said in deep tone as he craned his neck. His lips pouted a bit as he just lets his body relaxed.

"Why would I remove that?" I said, trying to sound intimidating but I'm actually feeling bad that his been blindfolded for hours already. I can feel the pain of just seeing darkness and nothing anymore. "I am not stupid..." but I'm already feeling like I'm such a horrible person for making him suffer like this when he didn't even do anything to me.

He's actually a good prince, he's good at his platforms and the whole country is doing well because of his help.

He'd be a good king someday.

I doubt that Jackson would be interested in being a king, plus he's a jackass. He doesn't deserve the title at all.

"It's not as if I don't know you," he said as he pouted his lips, but there's a ghost of smile on it. As if he's just pouting his lips to prevent himself from smiling.

And what did he just say? He knows who I am? But...

"What do you mean?" I asked in a small tone, getting terrified with what's going to happen next.

"You're Kia," he said and he sits properly. "You are my brother's ex-girlfriend. I'm pretty sure you already made an investigation about him. You know that he is the second prince, that's why you're not even that surprised that your men got me." He explains as he tilts his head. "The only person that has Kia as a name is the daughter or one of the most successful business person in this country, Kia Johnson." He said that in a good manner, making me just sit in awe, jaw dropped, feeling like a fool.

"You hate my brother for dumping you to your wedding day, right? You actually agreed to marry him without even trying to get to know his background. How cruel can he be?" I gulped.

It feels like he's mocking me and at the same sympathizing me.

I know what he meant. I just went on believing Jackson without even asking if all he told me was true. We dated for three years, how am I supposed to doubt him?

He couldn't even tell me where his parents were buried. Why didn't I suspect that?

"Remove my blindfold already, Kia." He said in a demanding manner. As if he's showing me authority right now.

Sighing, I did what he wants. I slowly remove the tie of the handkerchief that they used to cover his eyes, I am in front of him and I have to lean down to him so I could remove the blindfold.

I can smell his manly perfume with a bit of his natural scent. He smells so good that I have to blind twice just to be back from myself.

When I finally got to remove the blindfold, my eyes went down and that's where our eyes met. He squint his eyes before he blinked it twice, adjusting from the light of this room. The lights are dimmed but he's been blindfolded so I understand why he's trying to adjust.

I was mesmerized with his face, now that I could see his eyes. I must say that he's hundred times better than Jackson. He got this long and thick eyelashes and deep-set blue eyes that's making him more suitable to be called a prince.

"Are you done checking me out?" He suddenly said and that's when I realize that I was staring at him for too long already.

"O-oh... I'm sorry!" I said and step backwards away from from him.

He twisted his lips before he smiled at me. "Can I have something to eat? I was about to go for a dinner but your men suddenly kidnapped me. At least have the decency to make me eat." And he smiled so widely as if he's just enjoying what's happening right now.

Confused to what he was acting, I just look at him with confused eyes. His smile faded before his stomach made a noise.

And that's when I realize that he's indeed hungry.

I bit my lower lip to stop myself from smiling, and he doesn't seem to find it funny. But I couldn't help it, it's just weird to see that the crown prince of England is hungry right now.

"I shall prepare your dinner," I said and he just rolled his eyes on me.

"What do you want for dinner?" I said and stood up straight.

"Please don't prepare a salad, something with meat if possible. I'm so tired eating grass from the palace." He said as if the palace servants just went on keeping his diet.

"I have steak here, I'll just ask Melinda to cook." I said and started walking to the door to leave him.

Of course I also brought a cook and someone that would clean the whole house for Jackson... gladly I wasn't that cruel to think that Jackson could do all the chores. At least someone could serve Prince Jacques now.

I sighed.

I just have to think of plan now.
