Hazel slowly opened her eyes and she was able to look at the white ceiling with a fluorescent lamp and she closed her eyes again. She opened her eyes once more and turned her head to the right side. She saw a white wall with a window while its beige curtain is slowly being blown by the soft breeze. There's also a side table where a small vase with a single daisy nestled silently on it along with a bottle of water and a folder. She closed her eyes and open it again to look at the other side of the room and she could see a door and another one for what it seems like a washroom and right above her was an IV fluid that's being attached to her left arm. She slowly removed the white sheet blanket so that she can fully check her body for any external injuries. She positioned herself to sit at the bed and well, she's wearing a white hospital gown.
 
She closed her eyes for the last time and tried to listen to anything she can until she heard something from the washroom. Someone is inside. Someone flushed. She opened her eyes and started to stare at the door waiting for the person to come out. Then the door swung open.
 
"Oh hey, you woke up," He gave out a wonderful charming smile as he fixed his eyeglasses.
Hazel kept silent. She's still assessing the situation. The man felt the girl's anxiety.
"Sorry for being rude. Let me introduce myself, Hazel." She was puzzled for he knows her name. Is she her doctor? He's wearing a suit and carrying a case. He looked more like a lawyer, not a doctor. She waits for the man to speak again.
 
"My name's Steven and I am the personal secretary to the CEO of the Yang Group of Companies," he gave another charming smile and slightly tilted his head. Yang Group of Companies, Hazel is familiar with it.
"You are my sponsor," she said.
"No, my boss is YOUR SPONSOR," he winked.
 
Hazel nodded and Steven was waiting for her to add her reaction by talking but he received none. He then coughed lightly and continued to talk.
"Well, we heard about your accident, and don't worry, this is also being covered by the company..."
"How was the dog?" Hazel interrupted Steven. The secretary smiled and thought to himself how pure the girl's heart is.
"You're in the hospital and you still ask about the dog?
"I tried to save him and I remember Shiro licking me before I passed out. I want to make sure he's okay."
"First name basis, huh. Don't worry, sir Shiro's fine. He's with master Ash, his owner." The secretary continued to smile while giving the details.
 
Hazel smiled for the first time since she woke up. Steven saw a sweet smile of relief coming from the girl. He smiled as well and remember that he needed to discuss things with his boss' scholar.
 
"By the way, do you want me to inform your family about this incident?" Hazel's smile quickly faded and she yelled, "No!" to Steven. She was shocked by how she reacted so she composed herself.
"I'm sorry. I did not mean to shout at you. I just don't want them to worry."
"Your reaction's being anticipated. Not to worry, it will be confidential. As I am responsible for reporting your whereabouts and progress to your parents, I also need your consent before I send anything to them. So, if you don't mind, please look inside the folder at the side table and review the file. We did not have a formal contract by the way. This time, we need your signature."
 
Hazel looked behind her and reached for the folder. She saw several papers that looked like a contract. Steven mentioned that he will stay with her while she's reviewing the documents just in case she has any questions. Hazel obliged. They spent the whole morning together.
 
Shiro kept on whining and making sad noises and Ash cannot take it any longer. "Okay, boy. We're visiting your hero." When he heard it, Shiro started to wag his tail and bark happily. He proceeded to lick his master's face to thank him. Ash was chuckling and asked Shiro to stop so they can already go. Shiro grabbed his toy and went to the door first.
 
"We will walk and you should behave more this time to avoid another innocent girl being hit by a car, okay? The dog barked twice like he truly understood his master. It took them 15 minutes to reach the hospital and when they're about to enter the building, the guard stopped them.
 
"I'm sorry sir, dogs are not allowed inside the building," as he pointed the signage saying that animals aren't allowed. Ash looked at Shiro for he made a whining noise. "It's alright boy, we will wait here outside. Where can we wait for a patient to be discharged?" He asked the guard. The guard pointed at the waiting area. "Let me list your name here boy if the patient asks for you," the guard is preparing to write the name.
 
"Ash Yang."
"Okay. Ash Ya... Ash Yang? Like Yang Group of Companies?" the guard stammered. Ash slightly nodded.
"I'm sorry sir for not recognizing you earlier. Who are you visiting here? Let me escort you."
"No, it's fine. I will just ask the information desk. Can my dog enter the hospital now?"
"Of course, sir. Have a great day!" The guard even saluted Ash. The guard almost dodged a bullet there. If the boy asked for his father to remove him from his job, he will not be able to find another job and he will not be receiving his pension since he did not complete the required years. Oh, the power of the rich! The guard thought. But then, he remembers how the kid responded kindly. He did not even protest or tell him that he's the heir of the Yang Group of Companies. Did the guard assume the worst attitude for the kid? He just shrugged and hoped that the kid would not remember him.
 
Ash asked for the girl's name at the information desk describing that she was the one being hit by a car yesterday. The courteous receptionist found the file and told him that the patient has been discharged half an hour earlier. Ash repeated what the receptionist told him to Shiro and the dog whined. Ash patted his dog's head and told him that he will see his savior next time. They were about to get out of the hospital when Steven saw them.
 
"Master Ash, it's good to see you again. Hello, sir Shiro," he made a curtsy.
"No need for that kind of formality, Steven. What are you doing here by the way?" Ash wondered while Shiro barked happily and went to Steven and he placed the toy beside Steven's feet. He was ready to play fetch with the old man.
"I visited Ms. Hazel Yin, master. I needed something from her."
"Hazel, you mean the girl that saved Shiro? Why?"
"That's correct, master. She's your father's new scholar and this is a really small world for you since she will be studying at the same university," Steven explained while holding the smile on his face.
"Huh, what a small world indeed."
 
Ash and Steven were just standing in the middle of the lounge area while Shiro had no idea why Steven's not playing with him still.
