Chapter 2

Charlotte:

I carried on with my work, not bothering to look up at him. I don't want him to see how much they affect me. I don't want anyone to see how much they affect me.

"Char" Tyrell says, the nickname catching my by surprise.

"Yeah?" I ask, masking my hurt to make myself look happy.

When I first met Tyrell, I couldn't deny that he was gorgeous. But I've seen too many guys like him before. Guys that only use girls for one thing.

I felt him staring at me with his baby blue eyes. He had dark brown hair and sharp features. Anyone could see he was undeniably good looking.

"Do you want to sit with me at lunch?" He asked, his voice smooth and low. It was quiet enough for my to hear him and I immediately shoot him a small smile.

"Sure" I say with a smile. "Thank you" I add and he smiled at me.

"What have you got fourth period?" He asked and i shrugged.

"I'm pretty sure I got ethics" I say, trying to remember the time table I memorised before Mandy showed me around.

"Okay, well I will meet you outside your lesson then" he grinned and i returned it.

Maybe I shouldn't have judged him too quickly, especially because he is the complete opposite of what I thought.

The lesson ends quickly and I make my way to Chemistry, my favourite lesson.

"Sorry" I smiled sheepishly as I ran into a guy.

"It's okay" he grinned at me. He had black hair and green eyes.

He was cute but Tyrell was better.

Wait... what am I saying?

"I've never seen you here before" he states and I nod.

"I'm new. Today's my first day" I say and he chuckled.

"Well good luck in advance. Some people in this school are... let's just say you might have to watch who you become close to" he says.

"What do you have?" He asked and I told him I had Chemistry.

"Same. I'll walk with you" he says and I nod.

"So who have I got to watch?" I ask curiously.

"I don't know if you heard of him but Tyrell Winters is the main guy you have to watch" he says, his eyes turning a shade darker.

"But I've been with him all morning and from what I have seen, he seems okay" I say and he shook his head.

"He just got you under his spell" he says and I shrug. He hasn't got me under any spell.

He has been nice to me but that doesn't mean I'm going to leap into his arms.

"Want to have lunch with me?" He asked as we walked into class.

"I'm sorry but I've already said I would have lunch with Tyrell" I say and he rolled his eyes.

"Should've guessed" He muttered lowly, a look of annoyance flashed on his face.

"Excuse me?" I ask and he shook his head.

"Never mind, come on" He says, grabbing my hand and taking me to a seat near the back. I felt slightly uncomfortable and tried to remove his hand from mine but he just held my hand tighter. I took deep breaths and tried not to panic.

He finally let go of my hand when we got to seats at the back of the classroom, to which he sat down and properly introduced himself. He told me his name was Ted.

Chemistry ended quickly, and before I knew it, it was time for ethics.

I zoned out for most of the lesson. I didn't want to have this class. At all.

I sit at the back and see a guy smiling at me.

He had sandy blond hair and bright blue eyes. He was actually really hot.

"Hey" he smiled and I returned it.

"Hi" I grin.

"How is your first day?" He asked, leaning back in his chair to get comfortable.

"Its been okay, thanks" I smile before getting on with the lesson.

***

"Charlotte!" I hear Tyrell call me.

Everyone stopped and stared, their jaws touching the floor.

"Hey" I smile and he grinned, taking my hand and glaring at the people who began to point at us.

"Come on Char" he says, tugging me gently. Unlike when Ted grabbed my hand, I had a feeling of security and safety and, even if I didn't want to admit it, I loved how his hand felt in mine.

Tyrell and I walked down the hall, only mine and Ty's footsteps to be heard.

***

"So I called it Lizzy" he says making me burst out laughing again.

"So wait, you got a lizard and called it lizzy when you were 5 and you still got it?" I ask, tears filling my eyes.

"Well it is in my little sisters room" he admits, small pink dots on his cheeks.

"Oh my god" I laugh "that's amazing" I say.

"Yeah, I gave it to her when I was 15" he says and I giggle.

"Oh wow" I laugh. "I got rid of my teddy bear at 13" I say, remembering how my sister told me I was too old for toys.

"Would it be a bad time to tell you that i think you are the most beautiful girl I've ever met?" Tyrell asked, resting his head in his hand and looking at me.

I laughed a little, taking a sip of my coffee.

"Maybe" I admit.

"I mean we just met and--" I start but he cut me off.

"Charlotte" he chuckled. "I literally was just telling you that you are beautiful. I'm not asking you out" he says with a smile. I'm not positive but I'm sure he added a quiet "yet".

"I know but believe it or not I'm actually an awkward person" I say.

"No, you're confident, you seem confident" he says and I shrug.

"You can act that way" I say, smiling a little.

"Well you must be a pretty damn good actor"

We finish out coffee before walking back to school.

"Ignore them all" he says, nodding his head at everyone staring.

"Hey, can I ask you something?" I ask remembering about Ted.

"Sure" he says "anything" he adds.

"So I was walking to chemistry and then this guy approached" I say.

"Okay" Tyrell says. "And you are telling me this, why exactly?" He asked, "not trying to be rude" he adds quickly.

"Because this guy said I should watch out for you and I just wanted to know why he really dislikes you, I guess" I say.

I watched as his eyes widened quickly before he nodded, as if to continue.

"His name is Ted" I say before I visibly see him tense.

"Ted?" He asked, his voice strained.

"Yeah" I say, "I'm sorry I shouldn't have asked" I say and he looked over and sent me a tight smile.

"No, it's okay. Um, he is just an ex friend. I'm not telling you he is right but he isn't wrong. I mean, I don't have the best reputation." He says "anyway, he and I aren't on the best terms ever since he took every single girl I talked to and told them some lies" he shrugs as it it was no big deal.

I could clearly see it was a big deal.

"Well, if it is any reassurance, I didn't particularly like him" I chuckle "he kept assuming that I just fall under boys spells" I shrug and he smiled.

"Anyway, let's stop speaking about him" he says.

"Lets talk about you" he grins, grabbing my hand and pulling me to my next class.
