The Social Media Storm

Shirley and Missy stared, recalling their hatred for each other. The rivalry started when they fell for the same guy two years back who used to live near their houses. None of them could get that guy as he was already married and they both were too dumb to realize that the guy was 25 with a wife and a 3-month kid. He had came Williamsburg to work on the behalf of his colleague for two months who was hospitalized after surviving a deadly car crash.

"Logan's first party of the month," beamed Missy. "And look who isn't invited...you and your filthy friends."

"Bitch—" hissed Shirley but Jack restrained her when he saw Missy's boyfriend shifting from his bike. The boy didn't get off his bike but he made sure that if Shirley attacked her, he was ready to smack back.

"Ha! Looks like Jack-fruit got brains." Missy scoffed, indicating at Jack's hand which had stopped Shirley from retaliating. The guy cocked his eyes at them and smirked." So what are you gonna do rag pickers? Crash the party? Again! Last time I was so close to catching you but you all escaped just in time."

"Fuck off, Missy!" Shirley glared.

"Oh! I really don't have much time to waste on you. Just wanted to remind you how doomed you are," Missy snickered, " But I got money, I got boys, the best boys. I can see my goal ahead."

"There's a graveyard ahead if your goal is too straight." She fireback and Jack smiled in triumph. Missy let out a squeaking noise and ask the guy to drive. They both vanished in a few seconds.

"Losers!"

The notification bells again began to chime as they reach their school. Shirley decided to check it while they walked to her locker and waited for their other friends as usual. Jack noticed that everyone around was looking at their phones and girls especially were jumping in happiness.

"Oh my God! Oh my god! He's coming! He's coming!" Girls were giggling with too much of girly voice.

Shirley leaned against her locker when her lips twitched in shock. She scrolls down her phone screen and squeaked in the same way Jack heard those girls. "Oh my god! OH my god! He's goingggggg!"

"Who is he?" Jack ask annoyingly. Why wasn't his phone buzzing but everyone else's?

"Did you hear that? He's coming!" Noah appeared in front of them, clutching his backpack and his phone in his hands.

"Okay, who the fuck is he? And who is coming and who is going?" Jack asked them, this time loud enough to get their attention from their phones to him.

"Roman is the person we are talking about," Shirley answered.

"And he going to Logan's party next week," Noah added, surprise evident in his voice.

"That fucker has now started going to parties?" Jack bemused, "but when we ask him to come with us, he's all like G-go a-a-away! Go away. I'll te-telll my mother."

"Couldn't agree more!" Noah signed. Shirley again whined in shock which caught both of their attentions.

"What the—?" She looked at her and shows them the screen, " I think I've seen everything. There's nothing much left to anymore. My life has fulfilled its purpose so it's my time to die peacefully. " she added dramatically. Jack and Noah looked at the screen meanwhile and saw a selfie posted in Logan's Instagram account. In that, Roman was also cramped behind him, not grinning but smrinking.

Noah read aloud the caption.

"See who's joining next Saturday, It's Roman. Hashtag 2ndSaturday.night, hashtag party.all.night, hashtag Logan.and.Roman,vibes, hashtag first.party.of.the.season,

Hashtag pest.specifically.not.invited"

"I think I can die, too now," Noah continued.

"Who is dying at the fall of spring?" Amy ducked her way into them. Scott joined shortly.

"He and Shirley!" Jack answered and passed down the phone to them. Amy and Scott glanced at the selfie of Logan and Roman.

"Why are you following Logan? He's from Brussels high!"

"It's Ivy from Brussels high I'm following. She just reposted it." Shirley told them.

Amy rolled her eyes. "Who cares? We are not going, right?"

"Absolutely right," Shirley said and took her phone back. "We are not, and after Logan specifically wrote pest not allowed. Don't you think he referred us."

"For us and also for another half of the Williams high's population. Here everyone is everybody." Jack reasoned with her.

"That and Missy! She's also one of the main reason we are trying to ignore the problem until it goes away itself." Shirley whined. "She will be keeping a watchful eye everywhere."

"Whatever!" Amy again rolled her eyes. "That says we are on our own. So, now I have a piece of good news. I'm getting a raise and I've decided to spend that on you all."

"Woah!" Exclaimed Scott followed by his friends.

"Yup! But wait till two weeks. I'm not getting before that." Amy said when the bell rang. They said "see you later" to each other and walked away in a different direction. While Noah was calmly walking, stepping forward carefully so he wouldn't fall again like yesterday, Amy had her eyes everywhere. She was anxiously looking at the hallways she walked past.

"Noah! I think I need to use the bathroom."

"This morning? What did you eat girl?"

"That's girls secret. Go and save a seat for me." She spun to another direction. "And watch your steps, and don't fall."

With that, she was out of sight. She dug her pockets and pulled out a piece of paper. Few words were boldly scribbled on it with bright red color which highlighted the whole phrase.

"So where the hell are you, Roman Lockhart?" She curiously glanced around everywhere. Since the bell has already rung, the crowd had disappeared and Roman was nowhere. Maybe he's in class. She thought and groaned and decided to find him later to finish her task.

So, she stuffed the paper back and went back to her class.
