Vizbourne IV

As the group of disciples reached the office of their teacher, it's door swung open by itself and they could see Mrs. Natpiea sitting in a cushioned wing chair. The room was modestly decorated and one could find souvenirs from multiple countries neatly arranged on cupboards, some of alien origin and some from various places of earth. Like always the eyes of the students darted around, spotting many trinkets they haven't seen before.

"Okay, you are all ready and rested. Now we can begin the affinity determination of your Force. As you all should know people can have multiple affinities, with some being stronger than others. For example you could have a high fire affinity with which you could get an immunity towards the element completely while also having mediocre earth affinity that only lets you manipulate already existing matter. Whichever the case remember that you will always be able to increase your aptitude although it will be a lot harder to find opportunities to do so with rare elements." elaborated Mrs. Natpiea for the millionth time, as it seemed for her students at least.

"Why couldn't we have done this before? We should already have elements we are more compatible with, so why wait until now?" asked the always curious Michelle.

"Well let me get to that part, little one. We couldn't judge your aptitude before because your affinities needed an enormous flood of Force to be perceivable. This has happened now that you have completed your first circulation of your personal technique. Every muscle, bone, cell or nerve that is connected to your Force network began to rapidly filter and transmute your refined Force into energy perfect for your predisposition. This process will loop until all of it is converted into your personally inclined Force. Afterwards you will be able to refine more neutral Force and repeat said process." explained Mrs. Natpiea with an elated look, there was only so much she could impart them besides guiding tips and tricks since the UCs provided most information open to the general public.

"Anyhoo let's get started and see what Force affinities you are most compatible with." with that she took out a metallic sphere and began fiddling with it's movable surface.

After not even ten seconds it clicked and a white light was released from within it, while the sphere itself levitated in the air, spinning.

"So, this device is called an evaluation sphere, E.S. for short. Each of you will have to come close to it and guide Force throughout your body, then release it softly from your hand. If you want to check your progressing Force affinities later on you won't have to circulate it first but since it isn't entirely converted yet this step will be necessary, otherwise the test will fail. First up is Michelle, since she has such an eager look!" the motherly Paketa laughed.

Without an ounce of hesitation and the utmost trust in her teacher the little girl went forward and did as she was told. An intangible energy, that looked nothing more than a shimmering blur, was released from the palm of her hand which then was instantly absorbed by the rotating sphere. The young lass didn't have to wait long as soon a holographic text was displayed above it.

"Affinities for tested individual: Plant: 70%, Fire: 65%, Light:45%, Water: 30%, Life: 9%" read a robotic voice announced through an inbuilt speaker.

"Wonderful you have to common Forces over 50% and one rare close to that number too! You will be able to perform some truly wonderful magic if you practice diligently and raise those affinities even more." the humanoid cat jumped in joy.

'Although it is very low, to be born with a natural affinity for life is very exceptional!' Mrs. Natpiea thought while ordering the German girl to follow up.

Angela's predisposition lay in darkness, water, illusion and poison Forces with 60%, 57%, 39% and 20% respectively. Having three rare elements with relatively high percentages was a godsend opportunity for the small child and she was sure to live a comfortable life with such an aptitude.

Next up were the two boys and they also had irregularly high and rare Force affinities.

Konstantin with 80% in light, 50% fire and 30% in earth and wind each.

Sven instead had 60% in water and coldness and 20% with the death element which astonished his teacher so much she nearly fainted.

'What is wrong with these kids? Normally a species needs some time to adapt to the changes brought to them by the Force and awaken rare elements but so far I have seen 2 very rare elemental Forces and each of them has at least one rare element. And the complete monster, who did the impossible thing only master manipulators can achieve, hasn't even taken the test yet. This is simply implausible, I will have to recommend them for next years special classes for sure.' the Paketa was mind blown and already made plans to send those prodigies into an intensive care course.

"Ok finally it's Alex's turn. Please step up and do as the others before you. Due to your unique circulation method you will definitely have mind related affinities as well, as this is the case with any Force manipulator who connected their nervous system with their Force core." explained Mrs. Natpiea after composing herself, yet already expecting another huge surprise from this monstrous student of hers.

Alexander slowly walked up to the still flying sphere and let the Force rush out of his core into his heart and from there to both circulation systems. He instantly paled since his body, mind and core weren't yet saturated enough to support such an amount of Force, however, since he just had to expel it after one looping he was fine and a slightly grey blur could be seen escaping from his palm.

Alex looked up, catching a glimpse of his teacher's shocked face and then proceeded to inspect his results.

Before the results could even be announced like with the others the Paketa jumped from her chair, letting it crash against the back wall, and yelled, "Space affinity 90%, time 90%, darkness, 67%, death 55% and fire, water, air and earth at 33%? What is this? How can you have such high affinities? This is simply impossible!"

Mrs. Natpiea was completely shell-shocked. She had never even heard about such a case being born naturally. It would be one thing if he just had low percentages in those affinities but such high ones? That was the stuff of legends being told to superstitious people who believed in everything, and that being the case without mentioning the aptitude for mind Force which sat solidly at 100%.

"Get your parents to see me as soon as they have time, I need to talk to them about what to do with you. Or scratch that, get your whole family here, I want to check their affinities. Maybe your bloodline is special and they could be able to reach a higher degree as manipulator even with their age!" ordered the excited teacher without even caring about her image in front of the students.

"Now go back to your rooms and don't practice your circulation method until tomorrow, your body will do so by itself albeit much more slowly, but this will give it more time to get accustomed to the new pathways. And Alex don't forget to call your family, it would be best if they can come talk to me before they pick you up for the holidays." with that Mrs. Natpiea ushered them out of the room and slumped back into her seat, her mind in dire need for a rest.

If a bloodline like that exists on this planet, located in such a remote galaxy, it would be a huge boon for the federation, not to mention earthlings as a species, additionally also to the Paketa since through her, her race could form favorable relations with earth. What this entailed for her, was a huge boost in status and also a promotion with an increase in her salary. As much as she loved teaching kids she also loved traveling and therefore needed money and privileges to visit all sorts of planets, cities and civilizations.

Not wholly comprehending why his teacher was so energetic little Alex just nodded and thought that she needed to thoroughly plan his future with his family. After all, as intelligent as he was, he was still just a young and inexperienced kid, he couldn't know what should be done to prepare far enough ahead. Nonetheless he was more than content that his affinities were so much higher than his peers and didn't wait even five minutes, after leaving his teacher's office, to brag about it in front of his friends.

Bantering like a group of younglings should, they traveled back to the students dorms and got their belongings packed up. Alex had already called his parents beforehand via his UC and told them to arrive a bit earlier for the conversation with his teacher. They still had a few hours to kill and decided to explain their circulation techniques in detail so they may gain insights for future improvements.

Like that the first semester of Alex's school life neared it's end, not yet aware that the next morning would change his life in an unexpected direction.
