Kenneth's POV

I can't believe I forgot my mate's birthday. I am already feeling bad about it, so CJ didn't have to be rude. So what if I made a mistake, people make mistakes all times.

"I'm sorry about CJ." Alpha Drayton apologies and I nod. I guess he is really mad at me today. He never talks so rude to me before, only today, I hope.

"I know CJ was being rude but Kenneth, you were not supposed to forget Roman's birthday. No matter how busy you get, you should have remembered about it." Amber speaks up and I sigh.

"I understand, Amber. I didn't plan on forgetting. I don't know how it slipped my mind this time. I'm always eager to see Roman every year. He's my mate after all and I do miss him."

"We understand but Roman doesn't." Luna Cemil says and I stand up. I have to talk to my mate now, so that he must understand I didn't mean to forget his birthday. The Luna leads the way out of the dining room and makes us wait in the living room as he goes to fetch my mate from his room. We sit down on the couch and wait patiently.

"I meant to ask, Kenny. I didn't understand all they said about your mate. And he talked like-"

"Do you have a problem with how he talks?" I ask Dean, cutting his words short.

"No," he replies and I nod.

I know he wouldn't understand all we said about my mate in there. I've never talked to him about my mate before. He might be my best friend but he's not my beta yet. We don't meet frequently unless it's on a mission or when we are training. This time is the longest that we've spent together and it's his first time meeting and seeing Roman. So while we wait for the Luna, I tell him general facts about my mate.

"Sorry I kept you waiting for long. It's just that I didn't find Roman up there." Luna Cemil says when he joins us in the living room after some minutes.

"What do you mean? Where is he?" I ask standing up.

"He's in the garden with a friend." I start walking out of the house the moment I hear where my mate is. "Kenneth," I stop and look back at the Luna. "His friend is, I mean just be careful. Don't act out hastily." I nod at him, not even getting what he said. I shrug and walk out with Dean.

We both enter the garden and I start to follow my mate's scent. I always loved how he smells and I would smell him all day without getting bored. I know he will smell even greater when we finish the mating. Roman is a very beautiful omega, yes beautiful and not handsome. He does not have that manly features on him and it doesn't help with his child appearance. Maybe when he grows later, he will have some of the manly features but not many. I will still love him in any looks.

When we get near to where he is, I hear him giggling and it brings a smile to my face knowing he's happy. Suddenly I smell an alpha and my instincts go wild. I run to my mate but what I see makes me halt in my steps. My mate is playing with an Alpha and they are laughing together.

Jealousy slaps me in the face and I growl making them turn in my way. Roman walks away from the Alpha with a smile coming my way. I smile too but then his smile is no longer on his face and he stops coming to me. He frowns for a bit and I wonder what is wrong.

"What you want Kenneth?" The question catches me off guard and I don't reply right away making the frown on his face grow. He's never called me Kenneth before. Not even when we first met and I admit it hurts not to hear him call me his Ken.

"I, I..." Words escape me and once I hear Dean snickering quietly, it all comes back to me. "I came to wish you a happy birthday."

"I no want it. You not remember."

"I'm sorry but I-"

"Leave Ken. I play with Troy now. He not forget like you." He says and turns back to the Alpha. My eyes lock with the alpha and he gives me a smug smile. I wish for nothing but to wipe it off his face with my fist. I bet I can rearrange his face and he may never smile again.

"Don't act harshly, that's what the Luna said, now I understand." Dean says warningly before I even take a step forward.

"But-"

"Let's go back inside and think about it more. If Alpha Dray is letting the alpha play with him, it means he's harmless to your mate."

I groan and turn around, back to the house. Friend or not, they shouldn't have let another alpha be friends with my mate. If it had been that we were already mated, I would have wrapped my hands around his neck for even talking to my mate. I know Roman is sad even if he was laughing out there. Only I can be able to make him smile truly. If only I could find a way to woe him to me.

"What's wrong, Kenneth." CJ taunts and I groan.

I continue pacing in the living room, trying to find ways to make my mate forgive me. Dean fills him in on the alpha thing and I'm glad to see him show his anger at the alpha. It is a relief to know I'm not the only one against the alpha being friends with my mate.

"I know of a way to help you get rid of him. I might be mad at you for forgetting my brother's birthday but I hate alpha Troy more. I'll help you." Those are the most beautiful words I've heard CJ say today.

I face him, eager to know of his plan on getting rid of the intruder. He runs upstairs and come back with a camera. I wonder if it is a part of the plan but before I ask about it, he tells me his plan.

"What?" I shout at him and he shrugs.

"It's the only way and the fastest too. You just have to play with him." CJ smirks at me. When that smirk appeared, I knew he was up to no good. Now I know he just wants to torture me.

"I don't know how to play. I'm a king if you're forgetting; I never learned how to play." Dean chuckles and I give him a stern look, shutting him up. I don't even know what he finds funny about this situation.

"Fine." I agree as I really don't want to let that alpha be with my mate a lot longer. I just hope it works out for real.

So the three of us walk back to the garden where I see my mate talking to the alpha and him listening attentively. He looks up at me with a blank face and I gulp. I can't believe my mate is making me nervous.

"Um, Roman." I call out hesitantly and he just keeps on looking at me.

"Will you play with me?" I finally say it and like a switch, his face lights up. No one moves and we just look at each other then a smile appears on his face. Troy assessing the situation fast, he murmurs something in my mate's ears and he nod at him. Troy picks up his bag and walk out the garden.

"Ken, wants play with me?" He asks for confirmation and I nod repeatedly. He giggles and run to me to which I hold him then embrace him. We both sigh as we remain like that but then we part and he hugs CJ, whispering a thank you.

"Who's you?" Roman ask Dean, looking at him like a foreign object. I smile and walk to him, wrapping my arms around his waist.

"Roman, this is my best friend and to be beta Dean. Dean, this beautiful omega is my one and only mate." I introduce them and Roman smiles happily. I figured it out last year that he likes me calling him my one and only and I plan to say that a lot more today.

"It is nice to meet you, Luna Roman." Dean says and Roman turn around, look up at me and motions me to lean down his level. Roman is really short compared to me.

"He call me Luna! Ken help." He whisper shout in my ear and I wince a bit but smile. I see Dean smiling too and I know he heard my mate 'panicking' because he called him Luna. Now he needs help on how to respond to Dean.

"Just tell him anything."

"Um, nice meeting." He say shyly after turning back in Dean's direction and I smile at my mate's cuteness. He bites his bottom lip, looking up at me with his big eyes that adds in his beauty. "Can we play now?"

"Only after breakfast, come on." Luna Cemil calls and Roman holds my hand, together we walk in the house smiling.

After breakfast we go and play just like I promised. He teaches me a lot of things and I begin to like it too. I thought I would hate every moment of it but I loved every moment. I even let my wolf out to join the fun as we give our mate a ride on our back. I've never seen him this happy before and I'm glad I made him so happy.

That's how the day is spent; just me and my only against the fun. Alpha Dray and his mate joined us at some point and were followed by their children and Dean as well. I'm glad to say that today is the happiest day I've ever had. Growing up the way I did, mother always said happiness shows weakness.

A strong alpha should always be serious and show no happiness. That was why I was against the idea of playing with Roman. I didn't know if I still had the fun in me but my only managed to get it out and for that I'm very grateful.

My mate was exhausted when nightfall came. He told me he wanted to sleep, so I carried him back to the house. By the looks of it, it seemed that he will be sleeping for a long time.

"I have to get back home today, Alpha Dray."

"I know, Kenneth. CJ is packing his things and will be done soon." He says as we sit in the living room. I apologies to him and the family since birthday dinner will be cancelled tonight.

"Don't worry about it. We both enjoyed the day's events. Dinner won't matter that much if it gets cancelled." DJ smiles assuring me and I nod in understanding.

CJ and the Luna bring down my mate's bags and DJ and Dean carries them to the car. They pack everything and I carry my mate to the car. He's still asleep and snuggles up to my chest. I secure him in the car then face the family.

"Remember everything I told you about. Be careful and always have someone watch him if you are busy with something." Luna Cemil says.

"Call me if you need anything." CJ smiles sadly and I nod at him.

"Take care of our boy, Kenneth. Don't make him cry or sad." DJ warns.

"If you need extra help in the security, you know where to find me." Alpha Dray states and I look at Amber.

"Just know I can kick ass so don't mess up." She says and then leaves with CJ and DJ.

"Drive safely!" Luna Cemil shouts as Dean drives away from the house. I wave and they do the same. I sigh and hold my sleeping mate in my arms. I hear the warrior wolves running alongside the car all the way until we pass the boulder of their territory.

The car ride is silent as I think about what will happen from now. I didn't tell my mum about taking Roman home and I only hope he takes the news well. I know he doesn't like Roman since the first day I met him. Maybe if he sees him this time and when he lives with us for a bit, he might start liking him.

I will try my best to make time for my mate. I don't want him to always be alone or with strangers. Not everyone will be accepting and understanding of my mate's condition. As a Luna, they will expect so much from him and I want to protect him from anything that will affect him negatively. Roman is not stupid but people will judge him on the outside and assume that he is. I just hope they give him the chance to show just how perfect of a mate, Luna and Queen he can be. But until then, I will protect my one and only.

The sound of wolves running alongside the car alerts me that we've finally reached home. It doesn't take long as we pull up in the drive way. The door opens and I walk out carrying my mate with me. Dean and some omegas carry the bags in the car and drop them in my room. I lay my mate down and join him on the bed.

I've prepared his own room but I think for today, it is better we share my bed. I don't want him panicking tomorrow because of waking up in a new place. I hold him to me and with a smile I let myself sleep.
