“You need to act like you're a couple. You'll be moving near the mansion of Mr. Minorie Shingu, the richest man in the country. He received a lot of death threats this past few months. He was very worried about it, he wanted to know who are those sending him death threats. They are sending different cut part of the body like finger, hand, eyes, ears and so on in a box like delivering gifts,” the Superior told them.

“Mr. Shingu was not a bad man, he has a lot of charity works helping different kinds of people, non-local and local government agencies supporting street children, orphanage, home of the aged, rehabilitation centers. He also has foundation for education financial assistance, scholarship for students who wanted to finish their studies with lack of money,” the Superior added.

“Aside from that he had a lot of businesses all over the country and even abroad. He has two daughters and one son. (Erica, Errhina, and Errhon) His wife is a chemist, her name is Geraldine Daphne Ruis. The richest family needs protection, some concerned people called our agency to ask for help, to protect and save him from different things that might happen to him. Those people who called our agency were the people he helped financially. I know you are detectives, but I will send you as secret agents from now on,” the superior explained further. 

“There are some cases that you need to handle like murder, rape, robbery, kidnap and drugs,” he uttered.

“What? We are going to handle all of those while protecting the family? So, you are telling us that we will not sleep the whole time until the mission was accomplished?” Detective Josh asked sarcastically.

Detective Yanie pinched him in his thigh, "aa-oo..." he is about to shout because it hurts but Detective Yanie widened her eyes on him. 

“Yes sir, is there anything else to be discussed?” Detective Yanie asked their superior with a smile.

“You have to lend your ears and listen very carefully. Mr. Minorie Shingu's eldest daughter Erica was a rape victim until now her case is still hanging. The person who handled her case still having difficulty in finding evidences and suspects in the crime. Their daughter told them what happened to her when she was awaken but after a week, someone took her to the hospital and until now, they don't have any idea who took her,” he explained with a worried tone.

“Mr. and Mrs. Shingu's both parents were all murdered, again just like the first case on her eldest daughter the lawyer left the case hanging. Until now, the murderer is not in jail and can freely enjoy his life.” He stood for a while then sat down. 

“Their only son Errhon was kidnapped. Their family went to the mall to buy him things for school, he asked his parents if he can go to the restroom for a while, Mr. Shingu accompanied his son but after 30 minutes of waiting his son to go out the rest room he felt worried, he entered the restroom and searched for him but he was not there, Errhon was lost until now they can't find him. They asked the owner of the mall to help them find in the CCTV near the rest room but they can't see him going outside the restroom.” He felt pity for Mr. Shingu that made his voice trembling while explaining the cases.

“Errhina their youngest daughter was the only person in the house when thieves entered their house, they tried to kill her. The kid got multiple stabs but luckily, she was brought to the hospital and fortunately survived the crime. Again, the case left hanging... the kid can't describe the persons who did that to her.” He bowed down his head for a while then continued. 

“Lastly, we received some reports about drugs, his wife was admitted to the hospital, the doctor diagnosed that she has dengue. She was confined in the hospital for two weeks. Her doctor advised her to stay for another week for observation if she's really in a good condition and got cured. She was about to go home but she acts like a crazy one, she saw something which are not existing, she's hallucinating. Mr. Shingu asked the doctors to find out why his wife has changed, then they discovered that she has a mental illness. She's currently staying in a mental hospital giving her proper treatment. Her doctor believes that someone made his wife crazy like injecting drugs on her secretly when she was in the hospital after getting cured in dengue.”

“It all happened for the past few months. I'm sending you to protect the kind-hearted person, the father of three children, the lovable husband of Mrs. Shingu. He wanted to find his children but he was so hopeless right now because of what happened to his family knowing that he never did something bad to anyone. I’m asking for a favor, don’t let those evils get in touch with Mr. Shingu, no matter what happens you’ll protect him at any cause,” he uttered. 

“He was so frustrated. He thinks like no one can help him, no one will try to help him because all the people helping him in different cases were killed. He's staying in his mansion alone. When the lawyers got killed and every people who help him are all killed; he decided to tell his maids, drivers and body guards to leave him alone and go back to their provinces for safety. He was so unlucky,” he whispered. 

“Why do we need to pretend that we are couple? We can stay with him if he wanted to,” Detective Yanie told him.

“Mr. Shingu don't know that our agency will send you to protect him. He lost his hope finding his wife and children, he doesn't want anybody stay with him because of what I have mentioned earlier.” He frowned. 

“If you wanted to die early then join him in his mansion,” Detective Josh said and laughed hard at her partner. 

“You need to be careful, gain Mr. Shingu's trust so, you can help him with his problems. Help him solve the cases needed to be solved,” the superior said.

“Yes sir! We are glad that you chose us for this special mission. Though I know it's hard, I will still accept this mission,” Detective Josh put his hand into his chest. 

“See you sir! You'll miss our faces here in the office, we will not go back here unless we had finished and accomplished our mission.”

“Sir, Mr. Joshua Enrico Meyer III!”

“Sir, Ms. Yassemine Niezel Chun”

“Reporting for duty Sir,” they confidently uttered together. 

They left the office with courage and as brave detectives of the agency.
