10. TWENTY MINUTE WALK

"Luke, you haven't left yet? Why exactly here?"
Luke turned his head with a last gust of wind and found that Rei was already there.
Behind me. Walking closer with the same look of astonishment as him, Luke asked back.
"You alone, how did you get here?
"
In a split second, Luke noticed that Rei's expression looked odd.
He replied awkwardly that he was the one who happened to be walking towards the subway station and saw Luke come here and intended to come over. Luke wasn't really sure because of several factors that he wanted to ask more about, but Luke decided to simply believe it because he didn't want to waste time on this and that explanation so they decided to walk together while chatting.
It took about six minutes for Luke and Rei to arrive at the underground station where the walls were starting to feel cold.
Luke really regretted that there were only a few buses in this small town that could take them to school. But that's okay, the train is also not a problem. It's just that sometimes there are the kind of annoying people on the station platform like when someone who-maybe-deliberately nudges Luke from behind. It was while Luke and Rei were deep in conversation about the newly opened Italian Pizza joint we had been on their way earlier, while waiting for the train. the two promised to stop by there after school today. Suddenly Luke's back was pushed forward by the violent motion of the thrust which made him choke. Unable to endure any longer, Luke turned and cursed at whoever pushed him just now.
"Hey, use your eyes, idiot!
" shouted Luke, furious.
Instead of apologizing or swearing back, the person who pushed Luke kept walking straight.
However, as he turned his body Luke gasped; It was the girl in the dark jacket. The girl was still wearing her hooded jacket, still with her hands in her pockets, still with her mask on and was now walking backwards while looking at Luke. His head tilted slowly toward another aisle of the station, as if asking Luke to follow him. Without realizing it, his feet had taken three steps to catch up with her and if it wasn't for Rei, then Luke would have missed the train.
"Come on Luke.
The train has arrived," Rei said as he pulled Luke's arm. Walked towards the stopped train with a long hiss.
Finally, they got in with the other passengers and from inside the train, through the window, Luke could still see the girl in the black jacket had stopped walking.
Standing in place while continuing to meet Luke's gaze. To be honest, even though he was annoyed that his back still hurt, Luke felt sorry he couldn't catch up with him. At this point, Luke was pretty sure that he wasn't just some random stranger who happened to show up and give Luke some itch medicine, but that there was something she wanted to tell Luke.
Putting that aside, rather than suspecting the possibility that the guy is a pervert, a crazy stalker or a psychopath; Luke's mind was more drawn to curiosity at the sudden and fleeting appearances.
I don't know, Luke doesn't want to think about it too late. After all , who is he?
***
It's been heading into winter with the skies often being shaded.
Evidenced by the cold and dry breeze that came in through the school hallway window, hitting Luke's face as he looked out the window peacefully. But if you think about it, the strong wind that blew from the forest this morning, didn't feel like a winter breeze. It's like someone put the propeller of a boeing airplane in the middle there and cranked it up to max power. Also the screams. Even though Luke wished it was just an owl and not a person - well, Luke knew, bad boys often break the rules and get in there - still Luke thought something might have happened. Kidnapping for example...
Hi Luke.
Just alone?"
Ah, again that voice; Valentina Miller.
Luke becomes more and more convinced of his level of stupidity. Even though Luke had scolded her like that yesterday, but why doesn't this stupid girl give up at all, anyway? Okay, Luke did respond to Valentina last night. However, that was just to keep the girl from getting close to Luke again. Luke had warned her before they parted last night and she-this dim-witted Valentina Miller-had said ' yes '. And now lo and behold, she greeted Luke in the hall as if nothing had happened between them. Luke was too lazy to answer his greeting. But, anyway, she had already separated herself from her friends and was standing by his side. Leaning on the window sill together and enjoying the pre-winter breeze.
"You look cold," he said knowingly.
Luke didn't shiver or turn pale though.
Well, what Luke didn't expect was when suddenly he felt something slung over his shoulder and when he turned around, Valentina Miller was already trying to cover Luke's body with her cardigan.
Oh, yeah. Thank you, Miss Attention Seeker. But, Luke didn't need it. Instead, Luke pushed the cardigan to the floor.
"Piss off!
" he said angrily.
And when Luke looked out the window again, he noticed another thing that irritated him; Patricia and the gang who were cornering Rei in the school's side yard.

"Oh, that Bowlean is up again!
"
Yeah, that bitch is up again," Valentina said lightly as if what Patricia and her friends were doing was a natural thing.

Luke's anger could not be contained.
Been pissed off by old fart Ben since morning, bullied by Valentina Miller, and now watching his new friend get bullied by girls with the brains of Marmots-Oh, at least the Marmots are still cuter than them. That angered Luke so much that he shouted from that second floor window, making all six of them turn their heads while Luke gave an ultimatum.
"Hey, Patricia!
Leave her alone! "
Luke could hear his own screams filling the air.
It's a little embarrassing because it sounds like a quail trying to squeak. Even so, it didn't dampen Luke's intention to get out there. When Luke arrived there, where Rei was, Patricia and her gang were indeed smiling slyly at him. Instead, Luke saw Rei standing behind them, looking back at Luke with a very pitiful look. Silence without a word.
"What else did you guys do to him?
" Luke was already trying to slow down. Trying to resist the urge to hit these girls.
"Hello Lookey .
Playing hero, huh? Well , we were just asking him to chat briefly. But as you wish, we'll leave him alone. Bye ..."
With her coquettish behavior-which made Luke's heart feel scratched because he was too disgusted-Patricia left.
He glanced coquettishly at the back of Luke's shoulder. Apparently Valentina Miller was there, behind which Luke had suddenly followed.
Patricia said, "Oh?
I see you're still dating him, Miller. Tell me, what's so interesting about this guy ? If I were you, I'd be really embarrassed to date a nerd like him, huh. Or you're really cheap, huh, huh?" prostitute? Haha..."
"Shut up, Bowleans," Luke said, as if hissing.
He didn't like someone insulting Valentina so lowly anyway.
Patricia and the girls laughed as they sauntered away.
Patricia also nudged Valentina's shoulder on purpose, causing her to almost slap Patricia if Luke had not held Valentina Miller's hand.
In a moment, Patricia turned her head and spoke again.
" Well , see you later."
Not Luke or Valentina Miller; but to Rei Suzurao.
