The Beautiful CEO Falls In Love With Me

Chapter 1: Carrying Your Child

It was a rainy evening. Cold wind swept the fallen leaves ruthlessly around the city. Lea and I stood at the entrance of the municipal Maternal and Child Health Hospital, holding umbrellas. In the bustling crowd, she looked at me with a hint of paleness.

"Sunny, I'm pregnant."

I was stunned for a moment and stared at her, "Go find the guy who got you pregnant. Why did you call me out?"

"I've only slept with you this past year. Who else would I look for?"

"Do you believe me if I said I've only slept with you this past year?”

"Sunny, are you even a man?"

"We were just messing around. Don't blame me for something like this. If you want me to be responsible, show me some concrete evidence. Who the hell would want to become a dad out of the blue?"

Lea was silent for a while and said, "The baby has been aborted. There's no evidence left."

I got a little angry, "Do you think I'm an idiot? The baby's been aborted, and then...then you're telling me the baby was mine? Are you pretending to be naive or am I really stupid? ... Lea, we're both adults. Can we do something decent?"

Lea bit her lip and looked at me. After a long while, she said, "You don't want to take responsibility, huh. I'll go to your company tomorrow..."

"Damn it...do you have to?" I cursed.

Lea clenched her lips tightly and looked at me. I felt she was a good actress. We met at a bar and had a one-night stand. A woman who frequents bars often, saying she's only slept with me in the past year - if I believed her, I'd be an idiot.

I didn't want to argue with her anymore. I took out my wallet and handed her all the hundred-dollar bills in it, "Isn't it money you want? Here, take it. Don't bother me again!"

Lea didn't say a word and didn't insist. She nodded and turned away, holding an umbrella, and walked into the hospital. It seemed there were still some unpaid fees left...

Watching her lonely back in the rain, I suddenly felt an inexplicable emotion. Although I didn't believe the child in her womb was mine, although I disliked her very much, I felt her days must not be easy now, otherwise she wouldn't have cheated me.

After a long silence, I finally called out to her, "Wait..."

Lea turned around and looked at me.

I took out a bank card from my wallet and handed it to her, "You can overdraw some money with this card. You just had surgery. Buy some things to nourish yourself."

Lea didn't take it, "...No need. Seeing that you're willing to take responsibility is my goal. I looked for you because I didn't want to get slept with out of the blue and get pregnant out of the blue!"

...

In the bar, I was drinking alone and waiting for David, the only friend and colleague I could open up to in this city.

Ever since the first day in this bar, I had seen too many lonely women and empty men drinking all kinds of alcohol here, either silently or with eyes full of desire, looking for something called "drunk dreaming".

In fact, when we abandon our physical bodies in the daytime and let our souls get lost in this sea of lights and colors, we have already become drunk dreaming.

I don't remember which night I started to treat this place as home. I like the women swaying their waists here, like the swaying lights, like the colorful drinks, like the smell of perfume mixed with tobacco, like the drunk dreaming here. Then, in the drunk dreaming, I engraved the messy past into tombstones.

I lit a cigarette, peeled off the film on the cigarette case and covered my eyes. Watching the swaying lights, my body swayed with it. In the refracted light under the film, it seemed I saw a kind of decadent indulgence! I couldn't help but become fascinated!

...

David tore off the film in my hand, and my world suddenly became clear again.

"What's the urgent matter you're looking for me for?" David put down his briefcase, took a cigarette from my cigarette case and lit it himself.

"Lend me some money. I've been cheated!"

"Got another girl pregnant?" David said calmly.

"Damn it...got cheated this time..."

"Who cheated you this time?"

"Why are you asking so many useless questions?"

"Every time I lend you thousands, I at least want to know who cheated my money away!"

"Lea." I said angrily, lighting a cigarette.

"That model?"

"Who else! The entertainment industry is messy. She said she's only slept with me this past year. Do you believe it? David, if this happened to you, would you believe it?" I knocked on the table angrily.

"This kind of thing would never happen to me. Besides, she wouldn't cheat you out of just a few thousand dollars...she was the model for our department store's promotional posters last month, and the minimum payment was over 10,000 dollars..."

I snorted contemptuously, interrupting David, "Do you see how much she usually spends? 10,000 dollars wouldn't be enough for her monthly expenses. Now that she's gotten into trouble playing with someone else and has no money to deal with it, she thought of me again, her cheap sex friend...I'm really worthless. I shouldn't have kindly introduced her to our company. I didn't give her little money, and now she's cheating me in return. Does she have any conscience left in the industry?!"

David ignored my anger and asked me in a low voice, "Did you wear protection when you slept with her?"

I thought about it for a long time and could only remember being almost blackout drunk at the time. I don't remember whether I wore protection or not. After a while, I said, "I did...otherwise, how could I say I was cheated!"

David looked at me suspiciously for a long time before sighing, "Sunny, we've been friends for almost ten years. Sometimes I really want to advise you. I know breaking up with Jessica was a big blow to you, but it's been two years. You don't have to torture yourself like this...Youth waits for no one. Find a good girlfriend and settle down, okay?"

When Jessica's name was mentioned again, I subconsciously froze for a moment before saying, "Don't worry about me. I'm doing great, buddy!"

"No lack of troubles, right?"

...

David preached to me for a long time. I impatiently dealt with him for a long time. Finally, he left with a sentence "A rotten mud wall cannot be supported" but forgot about lending me money.

Fortunately, after frequenting bars for two years and often bringing friends to bars to consume, I was quite familiar with the bar owner. The consumption for this drinking was temporarily recorded on the account.

Walking out of the bar holding an umbrella, I truly felt what it was like to be alone in the world. I had struggled in this city for two years but gained endless emptiness and loneliness. To get rid of this poisonous emptiness and loneliness, I had to put on a mask of shamelessness to live. With this mask, I could live in indulgence with a clear conscience.

But no matter how I struggled on the edge of pain, she would never come back!

...

I walked alone in sorrow for several stops before returning to my community. It was an old community without even a property management. When I first came, I heard from the neighborhood aunties that this community was built in the early 1990s. Under the erosion of long years, every building in the community looked so dilapidated, yet they were close to each other, as if afraid of loneliness. So it seemed that every building had life. This made me feel that at the dead of night, they would also whisper to each other to relieve decades of loneliness.

With a cigarette in my mouth, I took out the key from my pocket and walked towards the building I lived in. This building was the only one in the community with ivy. Every summer, the south wall would be very green. If these buildings also had genders, then this building was undoubtedly a woman, a cold woman.

She often makes people feel sad for her!

...

To my surprise, a red Audi Q7 was parked under the dilapidated building. In my impression, in the two years of living here, there never seemed to have been a car over 500,000 yuan in this community.

Without much thought, I whistled and walked up the stairs to my room. When I reached the top floor, I was shocked to find that the door of the room was ajar. I remembered locking the door when I left. I instinctively thought there were thieves in the house. After calming down, I remembered that I hadn't paid rent to the landlord Benjamin for two months.

Most likely Benjamin came to ask for the rent.

I pushed open the door. Landlord Benjamin and a strange woman were sitting on the sofa. On the coffee table was a set of Audi Q7 car keys. The Q7 parked downstairs undoubtedly belonged to this strange girl.

Then a question flashed in my mind: What magic did this vulgar Benjamin have? How could he appear in this shabby house with such a noble girl as pure as a lily that could not be violated? This really puzzled me! man like a white lily into this shabby place? This really puzzled me!
