Chapter Two

I had always wanted my wolf ever since I was sixteen, which was the normal age range for transformation, but it never came forth until that very moment that I was so pissed off and happy at the same time, unlike Clara, who had gotten her wolf at the age of eighteen. Her parents had helped her learn every stage of the transformation. I can still remember how overwhelmed her parents were that they had to celebrate it. My parents had also contributed to their celebration, but their eyes gleamed in jealousy at them and disappointment at me, no matter how hard they had tried to conceal it.

The memory washed away as the pain of transformation increased, and before I could even fully transform, I felt a prick on my skin. Someone jabbed a syringe with a whitish liquid into my stomach, making me divert my attention to the person. My eyes gleamed red in anger when I saw who it was.

"I'm going to kill you, Clara!
" I swore and growled out loudly enough for the guards stationed outside to hear that they had rushed into the cold room. The clothes that I had been wearing for the past few days were looking so dirty and were torn in different places, but they still served their purpose by covering the most significant part of my body.

I felt so tired and weak due to a lack of proper rest, and I was looking so haggard that my very pale skin and the shadows under my eyes could testify to the sufferings that I had gone through.
They gasped in horror at the horrible sight of me due to my unfinished transformation. I was looking inhuman. My body was half wolf and half human.

"Ahh!
' I shouted out but ignored the pain I was feeling at that moment as my body changed back to my human form. Then, I lifted myself to bounce on Clara, but Gabriel was quick to get in my way before I could even successfully carry out my plan. He shielded Clara from my attack and punched me so hard in the stomach that I flew to the other end of the prison room.

"Ouch!" I shouted the moment I felt a shooting pain in my back. I had crashed my back on the strong wall, which created a small dent in the wall, and the crack in the bones was a little bit audible.

Blood spurted out of my mouth as pain seared through every part of my body.
I moaned in pain and bent my head gradually, hoping for some miracle to happen, and for once, I prayed to the Moon Goddess. I prayed that the popular saying could be fulfilled, but instead, it worsened as I watched the blood of my baby flow freely out of my thigh.

"I've lost my baby." I mumbled to myself as a lone tear fell from my eyes. Breathing heavily, I tried to get up but fell each time that I tried.

"Clara, what did you do to me?" I managed to choke out some words, but more blood came out of my mouth, and I looked up at them with the little strength that I could muster, even though my stomach hurt a lot from waiting for an answer. I felt the liquid spreading to every part of my body; each sensation was more painful than the other. I felt my inner body on fire as the pain became unbearable.

"I injected you with wolfsbane and a little bit of a crushed silver bullet, which should be strong enough to kill that thing in your stomach, but is there anything wrong with that, honey? Are you okay?" She innocently asked, feigning concern and, at the same time, ignorance about what she had done.

"Be careful, honey, she is not stable," Gabriel stated out of concern, his eyes following every step that she took with her hip swaying to either side.

"I can take care of myself," she answered nonchalantly and continued to walk in my direction, not giving a damn about his genuine concern for her safety. It was too bad that I was currently a vegetable without a will.

The heels of her shoes were hitting the floor, making a rhythmic beat that gave off a bad vibe. She got to where I was and crouched down to my level. "Huh, poor baby," she said in a cry-like voice as she shook her head in self-pity and patted my head. Then she whispered, "Shh, don't cry, it will soon be over," still gently patting my head. She brought out a small, shiny silver knife that I hadn't noticed that she had been holding for a while.

"Clara, please stop whatever you are planning to do.
" I pleaded in fear and looked at her in horror as I tried to process what she intended to do with the knife.

"My, my, my, someone is scared. Don't worry, I won't be too hard on you." She coaxed me and laughed like a maniac when she saw the horrible expression on my face.

"Please, for the sake of our friendship, please stop," I pleaded with her.

"Shut! Shut the fuck up!" She punched me in the face until her hand was colored with my blood. I was too weak to fight back as she slashed my stomach slowly and deeply, making a pathway for the blood to flow freely like a stream.

"Honey, you don't have to stain your dress.
Let the guards do this," Gabriel complained as he saw my blood pouring out of my stomach while I was screaming my heart out so that I was sure my voice would be heard from a hundred-meter radius. She dipped her hand forcefully into my stomach and brought out my under-formed fetus, then she used the knife to cut the placenta that connected me and my baby.

I turned the other way, not daring to look at what her next move would be, but Clara had other plans. She turned my head back to her. "Watch how I completely kill the bastard you've been carrying for the past few months," She spat out with venom, lacing every word she said, looking beyond unrecognizable as she stabbed the head of the baby repeatedly without mercy, while I looked on in pain and helplessness as my baby died tragically before me

"Raven!
Bring the rest now!" She ordered in the authoritative tone that she normally uses whenever she wants something done with immediate effect.

This made my heart skip in fright as I thought of what she had in that wicked mind of hers that I never knew existed because she had hidden it so well that it had never aroused my suspicion, or maybe I was too naive and stupid not to find out.
I was not sure if I would be able to survive this torture, and whatever she had planned to do, my wounds were taking time to heal because of the wolf bane.

A blue-haired man came almost immediately holding a small sachet bag, even without sniffing it. I already knew what was inside, and my fear increased intensively. She wore a black leather glove the guard had brought and poured the wolf bane that the small sachet bag contained, which was in powder form, on her covered palm.

She forcefully dipped her hand again into my opened stomach and poured the white substance into my stomach.
She removed her hand from my stomach almost immediately and also removed the leather gloves to avoid being burned, while Gabriel stood there, watching intently with a bored expression on his face as Clara tortured me brutally without sympathy. I shouted out in pure agony as the whitish substance burned my organs, and every chance of healing decreased due to the excessive wolf bane in my body and heavy loss of blood.

Gabriel walked up to her "sugar.". He called out, and Clara stood up and turned to look at him.

"Yes, love," she answered in a sickly sweet voice, resting her bloody hand on his clean top.

"You've stressed yourself a lot lately; the guards would take care of her body," he said as he bent down a bit and carried her in a bridal style, handling her like she was his most prized asset, and I remembered when he did the same thing for me.
He glanced at my side one more time and walked out of the cell, but not before ordering the guys to clean up the mess that I had made with my blood after making sure that I was dead.

My brain could only register the pure pain I was going through.
One of the guards picked up Clara's knife and stabbed me in the chest repeatedly, and it was surprising that I was still a bit alive.

The guards wasted no time in obeying their master's order; they threw me out into a deserted place far away from the pack's grounds without cleaning or stitching me up, and I wondered what Gabriel and Clara must have done to convince these men to do their bidding without any complaints or hesitation.
What had they promised them to be compromised into killing an innocent soul like me?

The cold breeze hit my skin, merging with the fire burning in my body, which made me shiver endlessly.
I was in a pool of blood, and blood flowed freely out of my thighs and every injured part of my body. I was so overwhelmed by the pain that my body became numb to it as I welcomed the cold hands of death.
