CHAPTER 3

Night Blue

The alarm went off jerking me awake. I groaned and dropped my head on the pillow. I managed to open my eyes and looked at my phone screen. It's Friday 7:30 AM.

"Bloody hell." I cursed, sitting up straight in the bed and rubbed my sleepy eyes. It's the day of the interview.

Strangely I felt calm and collected. I climbed out of the bed and headed towards my bathroom. I brushed my teeth and took a hot shower.

Towel drying my medium length, straight brown hair, I sat down in front of my mirror. The interview was scheduled for 12 o'clock and it was

9 AM, so I had plenty of time.

I painted my nails with a dark red nail paint and brushed my hair slowly. I walked over to the wardrobe and picked out a white V-neck full sleeves blouse, paired with a high waist-ed black gauze skirt which reached till my knees. A pair of diamond earrings twinkling at my ears and a delicate bracelet to match.

I tied my hair in a high ponytail above my head and brushed some lose tendrils down both sides of my face. Adding a little bit of mascara to my eyelashes which enhanced my green eyes. I looked into the mirror.

Only one thing is missing, I picked up my favorite shade of a light cherry colored lipstick and applied a thin coat to my lips. Phew! I was ready.

I picked up my handbag and slid in my laptop. I opened my bedroom door and stepped out, someone gasped. Anna was standing in her pajamas as she stared at me with her mouth wide open.

"Look at you! God, Amber you look wonderful!" She squealed and I tried to hide my smile. I looked at the clock hanging on the wall to my left.

"God it's 11 o'clock already! Gotta go Anna." I hugged her quickly and rushed out through the door as Anna yelled. "Good luck!"

I needed my luck. Very much. I thought as I took a taxi.

After a time of 40 minutes the taxi came to a stop in front of a very tall and well designed office building, Sy's office building the RS.

I saw all the important people in crisp black suits, getting out of their expensive cars and suddenly I felt about of nervousness.

What if I botched it up? What will I do then? I squeezed my my closed fist tighter and inhaled deeply. I can do this.

I walked inside the wide entry and straight to the reception area. A very beautiful platinum blonde women stood behind the counter.

She smiled at me and said in a very soft and professional tone. "How may I help you. Ma'am?"

"I am Amber Fontera from Goddess Corner Magazine for an interview with Mr. Sy." She nodded.

"Yes. Let me check you in." She said as she picked up the phone and spoke to someone.

"Mr. Sy is in a meeting, he would be free by 12. Can you please wait?" She asked pointing towards the white leather sofas.

"Okay, thank you." I nodded at her and walked over to the sofa. Waiting. I saw the magazines lying on the table in front of me.

I took a look at them and my eyes brightened. There was a copy of Goddess Corner lying on top. I picked it up and flipped to the page where my article from yesterday was supposed to to be.

I started reading it and was lost in my own thoughts when the receptionist came over and informed me that Mr. Sy was done with his meetings.

I stood up and walked over to the lift and she mumbled that his office was on the top floor. I nodded at her and stepped inside the lift. Rubbing my sweaty hands on my skirt I sighed. Let's do this. I pressed the top floor button and waited patiently.

I stepped out of the lift and stared at the pair of huge glass doors right at the end of the reception area. A very pretty women in her 40's sat behind the desk.

She must be his secretary. I walked over to her and she looked up.

"Miss Amber Fontera here for Mr.

Sy." I murmured to her.

"Oh! Right. Come with me ma'am." She said guiding me towards the glass door. Three men wearing formal suits exited in a hurry and I realized that this was it, I had to go inside now.

I was damn nervous and I felt like I would expire right at this spot. Seeing the clean and hug glass door to his office room alone sent my nerves into a circus.

Damn Mr. Henderson for giving me this interview, damn Victor for getting sick and damn Royce Sy for being so intimidating.

I pushed the door open and entered. The first thing I noticed wasn't the simple yet impressive and male furniture of the room but a pair of intense night blue eyes staring right at me. I could feel the pull as his handsome face looked in my direction.

I felt like I was falling in the night blue depths of his eyes.
