It’s Sunday and me and Xandra decided to visit Joeana in the hospital. I woke up early, around 06:00 in the morning so that I have ample amount of time to prepare. Yesterday, I came back at the dessert shop and asked the saleslady if I could get the shop's telephone number for me to be able to reach them easily. The saleslady, who happened to be the store owner's daughter - not really a sales lady, but she's helping for the weekend - give me there business card. So, I decided I should order ahead so that I'll just pick it up on our way to the hospital since the hospital is near Malcoln University.

"Good Morning. This is Maddie's Sweet Sweets. What will be your order?" I heard someone talk on the other end of the line when I decided to call them to order ahead.

"Good Morning to you, too. I would like to order 2 boxes of Macaron, 3 packs of cookies, 1 box of Chocolate ice cream cake, 2 boxes of Pineapple Pie and 2 sets of assorted cupcakes" I told her my order. I think that would be enough for all of us. I'll just buy some fruits on the way to the hospital.

"Certainly, Ma'am. Would you like to pay online or Cash on Delivery?" Asked the woman.

"Oh! I'll just pay when I get there." I told her as I made my way down the stairs.

"Of course. May I know your name, please?"

"Venus." I told the woman as I headed towards the kitchen.

"Okay, Ma'am Venus. We will immediately attend to your orders." The woman said.

"Thank you. Good bye." I hung up the phone and entered the dining hall. I walked towards Mr. Henry who was standing across the kitchen. When he saw me he immediately smiled.

"Good morning, Mr. Henry. I'll go visit Xandra at the hospital. I will be staying there all day." I told the old man as I sat down the counter.

"Certainly, Madam. Would you like to bring some Pancit Palabok? Sonia cooked it for all of us." Mr. Henry asked. I nodded. He just smiled at me and called his wife. "Madam wanted to bring some of your Pancit Palabok to Xandra. Will you be kind to pack her some?" He asked Mrs. Sonia.

"Well, of course, dear. Wait a sec. I'll be putting it on a plastic container." Mrs. Sonia beamed at us then she went to the other side of the kitchen.

A few minutes later, she came back with a medium-sized eco bag and handed it to me. I smiled at them and bid them goodbye, then I walked towards the main door. When I got out, Mr. Kurt, our valet was already standing beside my car, ready to open my car door.

I immediately get in my car and let Mr. Kurt closed it. I rolled down my wind shield and thanked him. He just smiled at me, nodded and turned around towards the direction of the garage. I started the ignition and drove away.

I was on my way to the hospital when I dialled Xandra's number. I had it registered on my phone last night. When it started ringing, I turned it on loudspeaker mode and put it on the phone holder on my dashboard.

"Hello?" came the voice from the other line. I immediately knew it was Xandra.

"Hey, Xandra. It's Venus. I'm on my way to the hospital. Where are you?" I asked her. I noticed her line has so many interference.

"I'm at a dessert shop. I was about to order some goodies for Xandra and her family." She told me.

"Oh! I already ordered ahead. You don't have to buy anything. I was on my way to the dessert shop because I will pick up my orders." I told her.

"Is that so? Well, I'll just buy some fruits, then."

"That would be great. Uhmm.. Wait! Where exactly are you?" I asked her because I have a hunch she's on the dessert shop where I pre-ordered those goodies.

"I'm at Maddie's Sweet Sweets. Do you know that place? It's a dessert shop beside the national road not far from our university." I giggled as my hunch was right.

"Yep! I know the place. In fact, I had already ordered some goodies there and I'm on my way to pick it up." I told her while still giggling. She just chuckled.

"Wow! What a coincidence. All right! I'm gonna wait for you here. Do you mind if I just hike in? I rode a taxi cab to get here." She asked me.

"Of course. No problem. I'll see you there in a bit." I bid my goodbye and ended the call.

Not a second longer, my phone started ringing. I stopped when the traffic lights went red and immediately slide my thumb to answer the call, not looking at the caller.

"Yes, Xandra? Is there anything you forgot to tell me?" I asked the caller, expecting it to be Xandra.

"Last time I checked, I have a penis and my name is definitely not Xandra." Came a baritone voice on the other end of the line. I paused for a while, then I looked at the screen of my phone. It was an unregistered number calling and based on the voice I can tell it was a man. I smiled as realization hit me. It took me awhile to recognized that familiar voice.

"Sorry! I thought it was my friend, Xandra." I told him as I tapped my fingers on the steering wheel, patiently waiting for the traffic light to turn green.

"Yeah, right. Now I know the reason why I can't call you." He said.

"I am calling my friend because we have decided to visit my bestfriend at the hospital."

"Okay! I'll be there."

"What?! No! I mean, you don't have to. Stop following me. Don't you have something to do than to follow me every where I go?" I asked him. I am starting to get irritated.

"Okay." he said shortly.

I sighed. "Look, I know I made you upset but don't you think it's inappropriate for you to follow me anywhere?" I asked him softly.

"I just don't have anything to do yet. I'm sorry if I made you uncomfortable. I just couldn't help myself to follow you everywhere you go." He said softly. I smiled when I hear what he said. I noticed the awkwardness in his voice. It made me smile even more.

"I'll just see you tonight, okay?" I told him as I noticed the traffic lights turned green.

"Okay. Will see you later." He said. I bid him goodbye before I ended the call.

I was smiling when I started to drive towards the direction of the dessert shop. I immediately noticed Xandra standing outside the shop. I parked in front of her and rolled down the windshield.

"Hey! Come on. Get in!" I told her. I noticed she had so many boxes. She first opened the passenger door to put all of the boxes and closed it before she opened the front seat to get in.

"I already paid for the goodies you ordered so that we can get to the hospital before lunch." She told me as she was busy strapping the seat belt.

"Oh! Thank you, then. I'll just pay you when we get there." I told her as I started driving again.

"No need. Maybe we should order on drive thru so that we will have food for lunch." Xandra suggested. I just nodded at her. She's right. It's almost 11:00. Time flies so fast.

We looked for a drive thru and when we did find one, we went there and started ordering. When we finished, we continue driving towards the hospital. We stopped at a fruit stand and I bought fruits for Joeana, then we proceeded. When we get there, I parked my car on the parking area and went out. With both hands full of plastic bags and boxes, we walked towards the direction of the elevator.

"We have so many things to carry. We were going to have a picnic in a hospital." Xandra joked. I chuckled as I looked at the floor number to go up. When we finally reached 3rd floor, we got out and walked towards Joeana's hospital room.

There was a smile on our faces when we entered the room. Joeana's parents and three siblings, including Juliet was in the room when we entered. They greeted us with a sweet smile. We put the boxes of goodies, the basket of fruits and the food that we ordered in the drive thru on a table.

"Guys, I want you to meet Xandra. Our new friend. Xandra, this is Auntie Jewel and Uncle Justin, Joeana's parents. The one wearing a blue cap is Judas, her older brother. The one sleeping in the long couch is Jacob. The woman wearing checkered blouse is Julian, her older sister, and this is Juliet, the youngest. She's with Joeana when that fateful day happened." I introduced them to one another. Xandra just smiled gleefully.

"I am pleased to meet you all. We came to visit our friend Joeana to know her current condition." Xandra told them, yet her eyes was focused on Judas, whose busy playing with his phone. Uh-Oh! I smell romance.

"The doctors said she's now on a stable condition. We're just waiting for her to wake up. Thank you for your concern, Venus, Xandra. Joeana is very lucky to have such a kind-hearted and concerned friends like you." Aunt Jewel told us while smiling warmly.

I always like it when Joeana's mother would smile at me like that. It was heart warming.

"You should talk to her, Venus, Xandra. We will leave you two here. We will just go to the cafeteria to buy some water for lunch, okay?" Uncle Justin told us as he was signaling Joeana's siblings to get out.

"Okay, Uncle. We will talk to her. Give us 5 minutes." I said as Uncle Justin walked towards the hospital door. He turned back and smiled at me, then nodded.

As he closed the door, I looked at Joeana whose still lying in the hospital bed, still in coma. I walked towards the side of the hospital bed and sat on the chair. I held her hand and squeezed it softly. I felt Xandra's presence in my back then I felt her hand on my shoulder. I looked at her.

"When will she wake up, Xandra? I already missed her smile, her laughter, her loud voice. I missed my best friend." I told Xandra as tears started to cloud my eyesight.

"I missed her, too Venus. Even though I only know her shortly, she's been such a good friend to me also. I hope she wake up soon." Xandra told me. Clearly holding back her sobs.

I looked back at Joeana and started to talk to her. "Bestie, you know what, the other day, Antoinette approached me and told me that in your absence, they can be my best friend. You always told me that they envy me, right? So, I didn't accept their offer. I even saw Antoinette rolled her eyes. Now I know why you don't want me to befriend them. They would eventually stab me at the back. Oh! And also, Marco approached me yesterday. He was asking about your condition. He seemed pretty concerned about you. Ayiieee! Imagine that? Your long time crush is concerned about you. Well, I told him that you're still in coma. I also told him that if he want, he could visit you anytime, and you know what? He said he will, one of this days. He even asked me if I could come with him. OMG! I will make sure you will look pretty even when you're asleep." I kept on bubbling as I was playing with her fingers.

"Ven, I'll just prepare the table so that when Joeana's family will come in, we can have our lunch." Xandra told me as she walked towards the table.

"You know what, bestie. I think Xandra likes Judas. She kept on staring at him the whole time your brother was sitting in the couch. I think, we could be a matchmaker." I told Joeana on a low voice.

"I heard that, Venus. Don't listen to her, Joe. I just... well..." I laughed when Xandra couldn't find the right words she wanted to speak. Eventually, I saw Xandra smiled at me while her cheeks blushing.

"I think Joeana likes you for Judas. Haha!" I told Xandra, still laughing. It made her blushed even more.

"I'll just go to the bathroom, Ven. Then I will just call Joeana's parents and siblings to come in." Xandra told me while fixing herself in the mirror. She already finished unpacking the food.

"You don't have to look pretty in front of Judas. Afterall, he's always busy with his phone." I joked Xandra. She rolled her eyes playfully then went to the door.

When I was alone at the hospital room, I just looked at Joeana. I remember Momsie told me that she had a friend who is a Doctor, a skilled one. And she wanted me to ask Joeana's parents if they would agree to her opinion that they should seek help to someone more skilled when it comes to incidents that involve major head injuries.

I was busy looking and telling stories to Joeana when I heard the hospital door opened. I looked back and saw a male nurse, wearing a face mask entered the room. Maybe it's time for Joeana's daily checkup.

I stood up and allowed the nurse to check on Joeana. My forehead knotted when I saw that the nurse was just standing beside the closed door.

"Is there a problem?" I asked the nurse. He didn't answer me, instead he took off his face mask, revealing half of his face. My eyes widened when I recognized the man. "What are you doing here? Again?" I asked X. Yes, it was X. The one and only.

"I thought I will also visit Joeana. After all, she's your bestfriend." He told me as he walked closer to Joeana.

"Really, now? I thought we'll just see each other tonight?" I asked him.

"We will. But I missed you already so I came here." He said while looking at me.

I looked back at him and asked him. "Why do you keep on following me?”

He faked a puzzled look. "Why do I keep on following you?" He retorted.

I raised my eyebrow while looking at him.

"Wow! You did answer my question,” I said in a sarcastic tone.

"I did? Well, you're welcome,” then he laughed.

I looked at him fiercely. If looks good kill, he should be lying down on the floor, lifeless.

"Don't look at me like that. I'm turned on." He continue laughing. I gave him a death glare. "Just kidding. Man! You look so hot when you're mad. I like it." Oh how I loved to wipe that stupid grin off his face.

"Obviously, I am not laughing at your 'jokes', so stop cracking jokes. You look like a retard." I told him. I even emphasized the word 'jokes' to be able for him to know that I was beginning to be pissed off.

"Oh! The angel is turning into a demon." He crack another senseless joke yet he was the one to laugh at his own corny jokes.

I shrugged my shoulders nonchalantly. I took in deep calming breaths and when I calmed down I looked at him. I saw him smiled. He's indeed the most gorgeous, attractive, oozing with sex appeal, enigmatic and dangerous man I have ever known in the entire years of my existence. But one thing is for sure. At that moment, only one thing had been cleared. I like him. I'm attracted to him. I don't know if that's bad, but I hope it wasn't.

"I have something to ask you," I told him as I walked closer to him. He smiled at me sensually. That smile again. It made my heart flatter.

"Save it for later, will you?" He said through his husky bedroom voice as he came closer. I know what he's about to do and I don't have any plans on stopping him.

I closed my eyes and waited to feel his lips touching mine. I am not disappointed, for a short moment after, I felt his lips touching mine in a slow and shallow kiss. He didn't moved his lips. He just plainly kissed me. Lips touching, without moving. I got bored so I opened my mouth a little to give him access. I felt his smile when he accepted my response. He gave me an open mouth kiss. He delved his tongue on my mouth, searching for my own, challenging me into a tongue fight. I wrapped my arms around his neck, pulling him closer as I kissed him back. His hands went into my hips, pinching it.

We separated after a while, both catching our breaths. He leaned his forehead on mine and smiled while closing his eyes. I just looked at him.

"We'll see each other tonight, okay?" he said huskily.

"Why do you keep on kissing me?" Instead of saying 'Okay', I asked him.

"Why do you keep on responding?" He threw back my question with a naughty grin.

I rolled my eyes as I unhooked my arms around his neck. "Because your kissing me."

"See? I keep kissing you 'coz you keep on kissing me back." He grinned at me.

"Whatever. I'll just see you tonight." I waved my hand in front of him, dismissing him.

He smiled at me while turning his back and walked towards the hospital door. He held the doorknob and looked at me. "I'll sleep with you tonight." It was a statement, never minding if I disagree.

"Why do you have to sleep with me tonight? Don't you have a house of your own?" I asked, a little bit edgy.

"I feel so lonely everytime I sleep alone." He told me, causing my eyeballs to turn upwards.

He smiled at me once more before he turned the door knob and went out. I looked at Joeana, who's still sleeping.

"He's X. He's the one I am referring to you, bestie. I just wished you were able to saw him. I wanted you to meet him also." I kept on talking to her even though she's asleep.

I sighed heavily. I was busy brushing her hair with my bare hands when the door opened again and Joeana's parents came in, followed by her siblings and finally Xandra.

"Let's eat. I'm famished." I told them. They agreed but first we prayed, thanking God for our meal today. After that, we ate merrily.

While we were eating, I kept on looking at Joeana. I wished we could be able to eat altogether. I longed for those times when we would hang out outside our campus, particularly on the street food stalls. Then we would ate as many street foods as we can. I remember one time, I was yearning for street foods yet we still have half an hour left on our anatomy class. Then, Joeana raised her hand, asking permission if we can go to the Comfort Room. And when the teacher agreed, she pulled me outside towards the direction of the gate and into the streets where street food stalls were in a row.

She was able to lie for me. For me to be able to grant my cravings. She was a supportive friend. And I wish I could see her smile very soon. I wished...
