Chapter Eight

oday was the day that I was leaving for Paris, today I was packing up and leaving the man I love behind. Sighing, I took the picture that I had of me and Cassie together and stared at it. I could feel the tears pricking my eyes before it flowed down and hit the frame. Wiping away my tears off the photo, I remembered the exact day I took this picture. We were at a water park with our parents and we were just coming down the slide together when Cassie’s dad snapped the funny look on our faces. He had gone out and got copies for both of us and framed them, we had truly enjoyed ourselves that day. Sighing, I placed it in my suitcase on top of my clothes before I closed it.

Jay had been calling and texting me the day after we had sex in my room but I didn’t answer him. I was too scared, selfish and a coward to pick up, I was losing the man that I love and I couldn’t even tell him goodbye because I know I was going to break down in front of him. Grabbing my suitcase and my carry-on luggage, I made my way downstairs and into the living room to find my parents sitting down crying. Dropping everything I had, I ran over to where they were. Hugging them tightly, I started crying with them. I was leaving my parents behind, the ones who love me endlessly and had cared for me and I was leaving them behind.

“It’s okay sweetheart,” my dad consoled me.

“Everything will be fine Chris-Ann,” my mom spoke. I could feel one of their tears soaking my hair and I tried everything not to laugh but it came out.

“What’s so funny?” my dad asked confused.

“One of you is trying to drown me with your tears.

Looking at my mom then at my dad, I saw that he was the guilty culprit. We all looked at each other before we burst out laughing. Sobering up, they both kissed me on my cheek before pulling away and went to take up my luggage. Walking outside with my mom’s arms wrapped around my waist, I came to a stop when I saw Chrissy standing outside my door. Breaking away from my mom, I went up to hug her and we cried a little. Pulling away, she hands me a box and told me not to open it until I was on the plane or when I was in Paris.

Promising that we would call, skype and visit back home to meet up when we got a break from school, we kissed each on the cheek before she bid me goodbye and went inside her father’s car. Waving goodbye to her, I looked over Jay’s home one last time before a tear slid down my cheek and onto my hand. Sighing, I made my way into the car.

Boarding the plane, I sat down at the window seat and looked out through it. before my parents and I could part ways, we cried, we laughed, my cheeks were pinched hard numerous times before I could finally tear myself from them in order to board the plane. The plane took a couple minutes before it actually took off, and I dozed off sometime when it was in the air. I was awakened for snacks and as soon as I ate, I was back to sleep. I had gotten up when we arrived and I felt drained due to oversleeping. Getting up, I made my way off the plane and into the airport to meet my aunt who I would be staying with.

She was my mom’s sister and she was totally cool and hip for her age. Aunty Angie, looked young for her age, with her breast that was larger than mine and always decked out in expensive clothing due to marrying a rich man named Edwardo. Hugging her, she kissed me on the cheek before she began to talk.

“I see my little Chris-Ann has grown into a fine woman. With tomorrow being your birthday and you turning eighteen, you will be able to do whatever you want and plus am a cool aunt.” Flashing me a mischievous smile, I laugh it off before we walk outside the airport and into her car. Driving to her home, I was in awe with the place when I saw how it looked. It was a mini mansion, that was painted in white, the staircase that led to the door was fancy and the grass was neatly cut, and was green and well kept.

Stepping inside, I was taken aback by the fanciness of the house. The wood floor was well polished and the walls were painted in white like the walls outside but the only difference was it had fancy patterns. “I am going to take you to your temporary room, where you can freshen up and take a nap.

“Temporary?” I asked confused.

“Don’t worry about it,” came her vague reply. Nodding my head, I followed her upstairs to my temporary room where I rest my bags on the bed. Going back downstairs, I went into the kitchen where I got something to eat then made my way back downstairs to my room. Opening my carry on bag, I saw the box that Cassie had given me before I left. The one where I placed in there when I had gotten in the car. Opening it, I almost lost it when I saw it was a picture of me and Jay, the one that Cassie had taken the day of my going away dinner.

I had finished fixing up myself after I had finished crying and went downstairs into the back yard when Jay came up to me and so did Cassie who wanted a picture of us. In the picture, he was kissing me on the cheek, and I could see the love shining in our eyes. Smiling at it, I curled up in bed with it in my hands.

Waking up to someone clearing their throat, I didn’t even bother opening my eyes knowing it would probably be Aunt Angie’s husband. “You know Chris-Ann, I never knew you were a late sleeper.” Hearing his voice, I opened my eyes to see him standing there watching me with a smirk on his face. Springing from the bed, I ran into his arms and he wrapped me in his embrace.

“What are you doing here?” I asked surprised to see him.

“Well, I spoke to your parents in a subtle way asking where you will be staying and they told me with your aunt. They also went on talking about her which gave me the information I needed. I had sold my house and left two days early to come here to talk to her. She was pretty cool and she had gotten a house for me to buy. Just coming from the house and it was wonderful, I just hope my future wife would like it. I couldn’t keep away from you, I couldn’t let the love of my life leave. So, I did what a man would do, a man who is in love do, I flew thousands of miles to be with the woman I love.

Looking at him in disbelief, I took his lips into mine and started kissing him. My aunt was a little sneak, no wonder she was saying temporary room she knew, she was in on the plan. Breaking away from the kiss, he spoke again.

“Let’s go, I want to show you the house.

Taking my hand, he led me out of the house and into his car. Driving to the house, I went inside and was taken aback by its beauty. Taking my hand, he led me upstairs to the master bedroom where he threw me on the bed. Climbing on top of me, he spoke. “I just want to wish you a happy birthday and I have a great giant gift for you.

“And what’s that?” I asked curiously.

“Why don’t you spread your legs and find out.” Smiling, I did just that before he slid in between them while he kissed me.

The end.
