YOU look extra beautiful today,” Julia said the moment she came in to the flower shop. “This is my first time seeing you wearing makeup at work.”

Samantha already expected Julia’s reaction. There’s nothing Julia can’t notice with her CCTV-like eyes.

“Are you talking about my lipstick? I just notice that I look a little pale so I decided to try this. This is actually the one you gave me on my birthday.”

She wanted a MAC lipstick so bad when she was in senior high but since she can’t afford it, she never had one. Brylle once promised to buy it for her but it never happened. When she started to earn, though she can already afford it she chose not to buy it.

She don’t remember telling Julia about the lipstick and that exact shade but she was surprised that she bought it for her on her birthday. Maybe she just though that it soothes her taste and nothing else. Just reading that lipstick’s brand always makes her remember the past so she opt not to use it. But on that day, she suddenly thought of wearing that lipstick. Maybe to prove to herself that she’s moved on? Right, she knows she only looks pathetic but she’s actually surprised that she managed to wear it.

“I gave you? On your birthday? I don’t remember giving you lipstick that day. I’m sure I bought you a perfume.”

She looked at Julia. “You didn’t? But I remember this was beside the perfume you gave me. I thought this came from you too.”

Julia raised her right hand . “I swear I didn’t give that to you.”

“Then who gave it to me?”

“ME,” Brylle said while driving his Veyron Vivere. He’s on his way to his mission but he wanted to make sure first that Samantha has reached her flower shop safely.

It was Chad who brought it to the flower shop but it was still him who bought it. It has been twelve years since he left but he never forgot a single thing that he promised to Samantha.

“You’re still doing that? You’re so pathetic,” Silver who is on the passenger seat and his partner on that mission.

“Don’t be like that, baby. Just be a supportive baby bro to me, okay?”

“I told you to stop calling me baby!”

Though he’s not looking at Silver, he can already imagine his annoyed face.

“While you still don’t have a girlfriend to call you baby, I’ll never stop calling you that.”

No matter how annoyed Silver is with him, he immediately gets silent whenever he talks about him having a girlfriend. He heard from Rayner, the owner of the nightclub where Silver sings and also a member of Merciless that there’s a woman who keeps on going there looking for Silver. It turns out that that woman is someone from Silver’s past and obviously likes him. He can tell Silver likes her too but in the kind of job that they have and the danger it brings to people they love, desiring what their heart wants is not the ideal choice but he’s taking that risk.

“ARE you going to wait for Chad again? But I didn’t leave today so I’m sure he didn’t came by. Does he call you now for his orders?”

She don’t usually mind if Chad comes to the shop or not. She’s happy when he comes because that also means additional income for her shop. If he don’t, she’s fine with it too. But for the first time, she was expecting to see him. But like she already expected, he never came by.

After Brylle came yesterday, he has not showed up the entire day. Like what was that? He just came by for a day and not show up again for another twelve years?

She took a deep breath. “I’ve change my mind. I’ll just do what I needed to do tomorrow morning,” she took her bag and stood up. “ Let’s go.”

They were on their way out when a car stops in front of the flower shop.

“Whose car is that? Did Bern bought a new car?” Bern is Julia’s long time boyfriend.

“No. He can’t afford that. That looks so expensive.”

Though she’s also not familiar with cars, she can tell it was expensive just by looking at the black and white car in front of them.

She heard Julia gasps when the guy inside the car went out. While she on the other hand froze on her feet.

“Please tell me I am not dreaming, Sam. Am I really seeing Brylle right now?”

They were both standing still when Brylle came in and smiles at them.

“Hi there, Julia. It’s nice to see you again,” when Brylle’s eyes moves towards her, his smile became even wider. “Hi, Samantha.”

Honestly the whole day, she was thorn between wanting and not wanting to see Brylle again. For once, she wants to make things clear between them. Like what really happened before and what was his reason that he suddenly disappeared and left her. On the other hand, she’s afraid that she will only hear lies from him and be fooled. Since Brylle left her before, she starts to doubt every man’s intention towards her.

“Wait, what’s the meaning of this? Is he the reason why you want to stay? Because you’re meeting him? How could you keep this from me, Sam? He’s my friend too. Tell me, how long are you two seeing each other, huh? It doesn’t seem like you just met each other today.”

That’s one of the reasons why she doesn’t want to see Brylle again specially if Julia is around. For sure she’ll ask her a lot of questions which she doesn’t even know if she’s allowed to answer. She got used to lying to everyone about their relationship before that she no longer knows what she can and can’t tell even if they’re no longer together.
