Chapter 3

"Sorry, there was something I needed to do.
"

He wanted to ask what that was but remembered what he had been told: never ask a lady everything, some of those things are not even worth the attention given.

     "Oh.
Take your time. "

     "No.
I'm through."

     She was quiet again.
He thought that was an effect of the 'take your time' he had said. Hell wrong he was. She spoke,

"Well, even that same night, she ran back to Stanley and hugged him.
The bro was high on booze. I simply just watched the too of them. They really love each other, though they are drama couple. But in a cute way. Then I was wondering if we could be like them when we start dating. But we won't be the all-fighting type."

    He coughed.
That was not sarcastic though. He wanted her. Like really wanted her but he was still skeptical if she would be the kinda woman he had envisaged.

The woman who would not compare him to anyone and take him the way he was.
Then he remembered that she had just compared the two of them to the Tracia and Luke couple.

He remembered another rule he had been told: when she compares you too to another couple, one, she loves you, two, you can't meet all her needs.

There was a twist to that.
He wanted to see only the positive side, but there was no way he could see the positive side and ignore the negative. They are strapped to each other.

Then like a ray which would break forth from the East at the rising of the sun, he remembered the "us", she mentioned.

"I'm sincerely looking forward to 'us'.
I really do love you but have lost track of an idea of how to prove it to you and make you see. Since every other guy would say the same thing to you. What makes a difference when a guy like me say it to you from when another guy like Stanley does. "

     She chuckled.

     "Don't feel insecure,Eric.
If I'll give my heart to a man, I'll give it to only him. And I mean that."

     He swallowed those words.
That was some lots of metaphors and paradox. He didn't want to feel good for naught.

"Which means you've given your heart to me?
"

     A call intruded.
A call from one of his clients. He wanted to curse. Like "Motherfucker!", but she was still on air.

She hated to hear him use those words but she loved using them.
He had no idea what that meant. Bad luck,he didn't have that included in his books of laws.

     "Take the call.
It should be an important one. I guess work is calling. Call me back."

     She dropped the call.
He had wanted to tell her that he had dropped the intruding call and that she was as much more important than whichever client.

Did she have it in mind to want to drop the call in the first place?
Had she been praying that a call should intrude? Probably because of the last question he had asked her.

    He wasn't sure.
He didn't want to foil the light feeling he had generated when she had called. He wanted to call her back when the client returned the call.

     "Motherfucker!
"

    He was able to say.
That was the only light part of the whole trauma.

     He looked at the caller.
'The President'. That was the indication the Call App he was using gave.

The Call App enabled him to know who was calling, the country from which such is calling, the real name and some other basic informations.

     "What president?
"

    He waited.
He wanted to figure out if he had gotten in contact with any president recently. He could use that medium to wait for the crazy part of the Morgenshtern's ICE.

   Then the ringtone hit,

    "Ay ihn ihm, ay fahasjaywgwgsyw.
"

He tapped and dragged the green icon to the right.
He put the call on loudspeaker and expected a wave.

    "Hey, stupid.
"

He wanted to smash his phone on the marbled floor.
Damn! Twas Jake, his fooking younger brother. He could discern his voice anytime.

    This was his family.
He had an elder sister. They were just three. Father was deceased. Mother going on lots of dates. Forever young.

He was trying to remember from where  the brother had gotten his business and hotline.
He could had just called him on his iPhone 13. He didn't use it much. He preferred the Samsung Galaxy S20 to it.

    "Dog, you crazy?
"

     "Shut the fuck up, bro.
Ya kickin'?"

"About to kick your ass, dummy.
"

    "What's up bro?
"

    "I'm not your bro, fucker.
You have no idea what business you just killed. Damn! Just cut the call."

    "I'm at your door.
"

    He paused.
That couldn't be. How was that possible?

    "Get the hell away.
Imma cut!"

    "Swear on Mama's titties.
"

     "Fool!
"

He stood up and rushed through the room to the living room.
Was that even possible? He just kept moving.

He opened the door and walked through the block till he was down the floor.
He rushed to the gate and peeped through the security cam. There was no one there.

   "Fucker!
Where you art."

    Jake already dropped the call.
He almost punched himself. He put one his palms to his face in shame

"I'm a fool. How did I even fall for this dog's prank. Damn! He should be high on voodoo now."

He hastened back to the room.
He picked up his phone and called the lady. She didn't answer. Why would she? He had taken more than enough time.

Few seconds laters, his phone beeped.
A message.

"I'll come over to your place tomorrow.
Send the address."

     He almost dropped his phone.
He wasn't only shocked, he was damn intrigued.

    Ishbelle in his house?
His crush coming over. He rushed into the living room to see if twas in good state.

Then he remembered, " I'll come tomorrow...
".

He sat on the arm of one of the chairs.
He was exhausted. He couldn't think about any client any longer.

All on his mind Ishbelle coming over.

He would just take a break that day.
Thank goodness twas a Saturday.

He went on his back into chair.
He should remain there until 5.am the next day.

     He's phone beeped again,

"Don't lie about when you wake next time.
"

   He read loud.
Twas from her. Damn! She really noticed.

    She was some matured ass.
