3.1 - All About The Eyes

[BRENT]

It didn't come as a surprise to me when I noticed that my classmates would look at me as I walked towards the classroom. I also saw some of my schoolmates who were doing the same thing whenever I'd passed by them. It would have been okay for me on a normal basis.

But ever since that Amazon girl Margaret Relaina Avellana came, perhaps what was supposed to be a normal basis in my life would definitely change. I learned about her name from Neilson who would talk to me about her non-stop. To my surprise, I also learned that Margaret was Mayu's cousin. It was a bit unexpected for me to know that part of the information. I knew Mayu since she was one of my childhood friends. But I didn't know that she had a cousin like Margaret. Why she didn't tell us about it?

It appeared that what happened a week ago in the classroom became a really big issue to the other students. Anyway, it would really become an issue since it was the first time that a girl wasn't even affected by the charms and appeal of Brent Allen Villaruz. Seriously, it was a total nightmare! And to think I was a part of the Cervantes clan, for heaven's sake! No women had ever resisted my charms, or even that of the other Cervantes clan bachelors.

My record was destroyed because of that girl.

Right now, I couldn't believe I'd be able to cross paths with the very first girl who wasn't only an amazon but also--

I stiffened as soon as I entered the room and saw that the same girl who was the reason for me to think this much was about to cross paths with me.

Who else? It was none other than Margaret Relaina Avellana.

I had no idea what happened to me. One thing I knew, I just found myself continuing to stare at her. And that was also what she did.

For a moment or so, we were just staring at each other. It was like... the only right thing for us to do at the moment. I couldn't define the emotions I saw swirling in her eyes. And for some unknown reason, I suddenly felt mystified by this girl.

"Don't tell me that you're just going to stand there all day?"

I cursed silently and berated myself for what I'd done. I got startled when I heard that from her. I also saw one of her eyebrows raised. And if I wasn't mistaken, I detected her voice had hints of irritation when she said those words.

I couldn't believe it! This girl still had the guts to feel irritated when I should be the one feeling that way because of the humiliation I received yesterday.

I tried not to let her know that I was caught off-guard because of her. No one had to know that at all.

"Is there a problem to you if I really did that? At least they would have a great view here all day. Don't you agree?" I replied with a smirk and I even leaned on one side of the door and placed my foot on the other, eventually blocking the way.

Well, I couldn't help it if I wanted to tease this girl. We should see who would remain standing in this type of gimmick. Let things be. This Amazon girl already destroyed my image. I had to redeem myself somehow. Maybe I'd be able to do that using this kind of tactics.

I celebrated inwardly when I saw her eyes narrowed while she was looking at me.

"You really want me to add another injury on that face of yours, do you? Well, let's see if you would still have the guts to block the doorway if I did that," Margaret said with her hands on her waist.

Woah! From the look on her face, it appeared that she was serious about what she said. But if I won't do anything to retaliate to this girl, I would end up a loser in the end. I won't do physical retaliation as a revenge. I never physically hurt a girl before and I won't ever physically hurt a girl at all.

I straightened myself from leaning against the side of the doorway and approached the still frowning Margaret. But this time, with a smirk on my face.

"Then why not do it? You know what? I still hadn't thought of getting back at you for punching me on the face twice. I was the one who should be aggrevated for what you did since I have an image and a face value to maintain." Then I smirked mischieviously . "Not unless you miss my kiss that much and you want that as my punishment to you?"

"You're kidding me, right? Listen here, Mr. Brent Allen Villaruz, because I'll only mention this once. Okay? My day haven't even started properly, and yet you're here already trying to ruin it. So it's better for you just get out of my way if you don't want to completely ruin my day which will make me do something that you'll definitely hate in the end."

Okay, now I was definitely beginning to get amused with this girl. This was the first time I met a girl like her.

"Now, really? And what would that be?"

But to be honest, I didn't expect her answer at all, which made me stare at her with wide eyes.

"I'll make sure you won't have a chance to extend your lineage. So if you don't really want that to happen at all, don't you even dare try to approach me!" she threatened.

Woah! She wasn't... serious, was she? But I couldn't see any sign of emotion that would say she was just joking.

That means she was really serious. Oh, boy!

Because of that, I was forced to move out of Margaret's way after sighing heavily. Then I saw her leave the room.

This girl was seriously unbelievable. But without a doubt, she would be able to implement her threat. In fact, it was already tested and proven. My face was the proof of that.

I just decided to go ahead and sat on a seat near the board and just threw my bag there. But instead of talking to my classmates who were already there like the usual thing I'd do, it appeared that I lost even the slightest interest I had to talk to anyone after that scene between me and Margaret.

It looked like that girl would make me think a lot of things again, huh? But I guessed I couldn't help doing so.

Especially when I saw her eyes.

In a short span of time, I noticed only her eyes that were devoid of any emotions except sadness. Her chocolate eyes were beautiful and enchanting, but then I thought that it shouldn't be laced with that kind of emotion. That was the first time I've seen something like that. It made Margaret even more mysterious for me. There was something in those eyes that for some reason had made me feel as if I was enchanted to her in some way.

I wanted to know that particular reason.

"Umm... Brent?"

That voice startled me inwardly. I lifted my head and then I saw Mayu.

"Just try to stretch your patience when it comes to my cousin, okay? She's really like that. She really hate guys with the same charming face as you have." Mayu chuckled soon after that.

I didn't take it as an insult, though. Even I was able to let out a laugh.

Perhaps it was really Margaret's reason for her treatment towards me.

Oh, well. Now I was sure that my college days would be really meaningful. Even if it means I would be dealing with Margaret's temper every now and then.

But to tell the truth, there was still one thing that I need to know from her. For now, I couldn't tell what it was.
