The Rossetti’s

Laurel was a Rossetti through and through even though she was adopted but you could never tell, she was adopted when she was only four years old, a long time ago Laurel had a sister that went missing and her parents went out searching for her and never returned, they were searching on Highway 105 near the woods they were looking for Lacey and about to go into the woods when an eighteen- wheeler hit them both killing them instantly. The cops and highway patrol found them when they were combing the forest. Poor Laurel had no idea her parents were dead. All she knew is that she was brought in by the police after investigating her house, seeing her parents she murdered and to see if the kidnapper was involved, later they found out after the forensic pathologist did an autopsy of the bodies. Poor Laurel she knew something was wrong when her parents didn’t come just didn’t know what and no one would her anything except one cop who was a friend of the family’s Officer Geonetti he said that he was very sorry but her parents died in a car accident, Laurel was crushed she very close to her parents, she sat there and cried and cried, the officer picked her up and hugged her and said everything would be okay and he knew a loving family she could go, but till then she could stay with him and his family, about three months later a family that the officer knew who couldn’t bear any children was looking for a girl to adopt and came to see Laurel and fell in love with her immediately they adopted her that day, they waited until all the important papers went through and they had the clearance from social services and Laurel was able to go home with the Rossetti’s. Officer Geonetti helped Laurel pack her room and her belongings and he said to see her go she was one of the family she like a daughter to him, but he knew he had to let her go because it was right thing to do, The Rosetti’s were just sweet, kind, loving, generous people and they would amazing care of Laurel. Laurel hugged the only father she had known since her parents died, she was particularly close to Officer Geonetti and so hard to leave, she had a wonderful mother and siblings who loved her. There was a knock at the door, the officer answered it, it was the social worker coming to take her to her new family since everything was in order Laurel could go, the social worker took Laurel by the hand and took her luggage with the other and said in the trunk, she puts Laurel in the booster seat and they head off to Laurel’s new life, Laurel had lived with her parents all her life until she got married shortly after high school, and now she was on her own in Italy. The Rossetti’s were upstairs packing when they were finished, they went downstairs to call a cab, Edward Rossetti brought down his and his wife’s luggage downstairs they waited for a cab. The cabby pulled into the drive and honked his horn, Edward brought the bags outside and the cabby popped the trunk and helped put the bags in the truck and shut it. Edward and Lila got in and drove off to the airport, the cabby took a shortcut he knew, then got to the airport as the cabby pulled into the drop off zone, helped them with their bags and he left. They head into the busy airport and go to the counter and pay for the tickets, they head through security and then head to baggage where they check their luggage, then it is off to their gate. The Rossetti’s upgraded their tickets to first class and were able to get an earlier flight instead of taking the red eye. The flight attendant called out the flight number, “flight 1825, now boarding, Edward and Lila got to board the plane, they showed the tickets as they headed down the long jetway to the plane. It was a huge plan with very few passengers, the couple found their seat and sat down. They were excited to see their daughter had seen her seen before she left to go to Italy, her mother always felt bad for the way Lucas treated her and thought she deserved better, she was glad her daughter was on her own and away from Lucas she tolerated Lucas she even loved him but there always something off about him even her father could feel they even tried to help them with their relationship it was fixing and repair. Lila could take the faith she had in her daughter and rely on it because she was strong and independent, very stubborn just like she is, she knew her daughter would be fine in Italy, she taught Laurel how to trust her instincts and to act on them if need be. Now look at her, she's living her dream in Italy. It's what she’s always wanted since she was four years old. Lila was extremely proud of her daughter and she admired her strength and ability to move on even in the worst of times, she left her old life behind and never looked back. The flight left the tarmac as it ascended high into the sky as they made their way to their destination. The flight was long and boring, Lila pulled her favorite book “Love Under the Tuscan Sun”, her husband had his ear buds and watched the inflight movie. Before they knew it was dinner time and the meal service was coming, she put away her book and put down her tray and husband did the same. The meal looked amazing tonight. It was linguine and veal parmesan served with garlic bread and wine and boy was it ever good, especially for a plane meal. The dinner service was over and the flight attendants came and cleaned up while the next meal service was getting ready to serve dessert. Lila was quite full for her meal and didn't ask for dessert. Her husband got gelato. Lila pushed her seat back and quite exhausted from her trip fell asleep quickly and dreamt of being at her old house as a child frolicking through the field by her house and mother is outside watching her and smiling and laughing at her beautiful little daughter. She runs straight to mother’s arms and shouts,” I love you mama, my dear sweet child I love you more, '' her mother said, embracing her.Her and her mother go running through the field together hand in hand, they are running and laughing through the field and all of a sudden her mother starts to disappear, Lila yells out, “Mama, don’t leave me alone!” Her mother is gone, Lila sits down and sobs crying for her mother to come back, she is gone, and Lila is alone and scared. Lila shakes herself awake realizing she had a bad dream. She sat there thinking about her dream and missing her mother so much. It was going to be hard getting over her mother’s death. She was very close to her mother and now that she’s gone, poor Lila is devastated. At least she had her husband and daughter to fall back on and even her mother-in-law they have become close. It was five- thirty-eight pm in Italy and the plane was getting closer to the Florence Airport, the pilot speaks over the intercom and announces, “ladies and gentlemen we are about to descend into the Florence International Airport please keep seated and trays and seats in the upright position, and keep your seat belts buckled until we’ve landed and come to a full stop. Thank you for flying Paris International Flights, flight 1825, this is your pilot speaking, over and out.” Lila was thrilled to get off the plane. It was such a long flight and her legs were cramped and she was excited to see her daughter and niece and her Laurel’s new friend Laurel she spoke of. Her hubby had dozed off and was still asleep, so she gently nudged his arm and said, “sweetie was going to land at the airport soon, it’s time to wake up. Edward grumbled, and opened in tired eyes and yawned and replied, “Okay honey I’m awake.” They waited until the plane landed at the airport, it hit the tarmac with a thud and the whole airplane shook. The passengers were waiting until the plane came to a complete stop before unbuckling, the plane stopped and turned and went to the jet way before hooking up before releasing the passengers. The seat belt light lit up the passengers unbuckled and waited to be released, first class was first then business, then coach. Lila and Edward boarded the plane and walked the long jet way and made their way into the busy airport and sat down in the waiting area, she pulled out her cell phone and called a cab then called Laurel to let her know they arrived in Italy. Lila and her husband Edward walk outside and wait for the cab to come, Edward was on the phone trying to book a Bed and Breakfast in Grosseto, Tuscany which was about twenty-minutes down the road from the house Lila grew in. They were booked for two weeks and my goodness what a wonderful trip it was going to be, the cab came and off they went to see their daughter and niece.
