CALI EVANS POV:

I rocked the baby back and forward, trying to get her asleep as I re-read the letter.

Cali; this is your little sister. We don't have a name for her and, quite frankly, don't care about her. We don't care about her because she reminds us of you. So have her. Keep her. Dont try to find us, to look for us to give her back or we will just throw her in the streets. We have no money to give you for her so you will have to rely on someone else.

Hurts to be dumped with someone else's child, doesn't it.

Tears flowed down my cheeks.

I can't believe them.

We won't be checking on her again. She reminds us too much of you to even bother to check up on. You know that it was all your fault we both abandoned you, right? Danny and Connor knows that. They would abandon you, just like me did. If we weren't stupid and didn't adopt you, we would still be home. With our children. Not the thing in your arms though, we would have never lived with that.

So Cali, I want you to look after your sister, because she could be the only family you have left.

They didn't need to sign the letter off. I could tell from the hand writing and the fact they bought up that I was adopted.

My real parents abused me until I was 6. I never understood what went on, whether it was emotion, physical or sexual abuse, it happened from a young age.

The neighbour's had called the police after hearing banging and they found me knocked out and unconscious.

All was right until a few years ago, when my adopted parents walked out on us and left us with nothing.

The baby began murmuring and I was captivated by her.

She was gorgeous.

He bright green eyes looked up at me, vulnerable and she grabbed my finger as I sat down on the sofa.

I couldn't stop looking at the gorgeous girl in my arms.

Her small hands held my fingers and I smiled down at her. She was my little sister.

"Charlotte?" I murmur to myself, "Charlotte Evans" I smile when she smiled up at me.

"Go to sleep, baby" I yawn, rocking her slightly.

Her eyes slowly shut and her breath steadied.

I take her into a spare room we had and found a cot.

I quickly but her onto the bed before putting it up. I found a small, fleece blanket before wrapping her up and placing a kiss on her head.

"Good night, Charlotte" I smile to myself before quietly shutting the door.

I walk back downstairs, my eyes were red and puffy and I felt my heart break all over again.

Danny and Connor reassured me that it wasn't my fault that they walked out on us but was it actually my fault?

I walk downstairs, locking the front Door and re-reading the letter.

More tears fell as I felt completely and utterly heard broken.

I didn't think I could sleep at all, but I laid back down with Shawn.

"You took long" he murmurs, his eyes shut.

"I was busy" I say and he nuzzled his head in my neck.

"I missed you Cali. I can't sleep when you aren't here, beside me" he says and I feel some more tears fall.

How am I going to look after a baby?

"I'm here now, Shawn" I say, trying not to sound so... broken.

He kissed my cheek before pulling back.

"Why is your cheek wet?" He asked and I ignored him.

I tried to wipe the tears away but he opened his eyes.

His eyes widened when he saw me crying.

"Hey, what's wrong?" He cooed gathering me in my arms.

I cried onto his shoulder, not being able to stop the tears from falling.

"Cal, baby. What's wrong? What's happened?" He asked, sitting up so I was straddling him.

I couldn't say anything so I just shook my head.

"It hurts to see you do broken" he whispers, pulling me closer to him.

"It's- it's my fault that they left" I sob and Shawn pulled back.

"Baby, where is this coming from?" He asked softly, wiping tears away but they wouldn't stop falling.

"Should I call Danny?" He asked and I shook my head.

"Just please, hold me" I sob, crying again.

"Of course baby" he says and pulls me closer.

After a while, the tears stopped. Not because I was feeling better but because I had a headache coming on and I felt sick.

"Cali" Shawn says softly, sadness filling his eyes "it's hurts to see you like this. Please tell me what's wrong" he begs and I sigh.

"I have a baby sister" I say and he frowned.

"I know, I've met Candi" he says and I shook my head.

"Wh-When I was getting a glass of water, I heard the door bell ring. So I checked outside and saw a baby girl in a basket crying. I took her in and read the note" I say, "it was from my parents" I choke up, feeling like I was going to be sick.

"Can I see her?" Shawn asked just as she began to cry.

I rushed out of bed and into her room, picking her up and gently rocking her.

"Hey, shh" I whisper, rocking her.

At the sound of my voice, she opened her eyes and smiled.

"Hello" I smile down at her, despite feeling numb.

Shawn stands in the door way, watching us.

"Can I, can I hold her?" He asked, his voice breaking.

I nod and walk over to him, smiling down at the gorgeous girl smiling up at me.

"She likes you" he says and I look down.

" I love her" I say, "she is my little sister. She looks a lot like my father" I sniff.

Shawn carefully takes her and sits down on the bed with me.

"Everything will be okay" he promised me after looking down at little Charlotte, "I promise, I will help you"

"You shouldn't have to, Shawn. You should be with someone who is going to wreck your life" I say, feeling as if my throat was burning.

"No, Cali. I deserve you. I want you" he says stubbornly.

"You shouldn't want me. I'm broken and now I have a baby to deal with. I bet Quinn or any other pretty girl doesn't have these problems" I cry out. "You should leave me now, Shawn. It's easier for you to leave now rather than to wait and get caught up in everything" I say bitterly, taking Charlotte and lying her down again, as she had stopped crying.

"I'm not leaving you" he says," I like you, a whole lot. I want to be with you. Please don't make me leave or pushh me away" he begs and then I realise how much of a bitch I was being.

"I'm sorry" I say quietly, "it's just- i"

"I understand" Shawn says, wrapping his arms around me.

We lay back in the guest bedroom, Charlotte beside us in her cot.

"I called her Charlotte" I murmur, "she didn't have a name" I add.

"Its a beautiful name. She's pretty" Shawn says, "just like her older sister" he whispers gently and I smile.

"Thanks for being here with me Shawn. After what the letter said, I just, something broke inside of me" I let out, closing my eyes.

"Can I see the letter tomorrow?" He asked and I nodded.

"Go to sleep beautiful" he whispers, "I'll be here when you wake up. I'll be here for you, always" he says and I smile.

"Thanks Shawn, you're the best" I say, my eyes begin to droop.

"Good enough to get a kiss?" He asked and I smiled.

"Yep" I smile and open my eyes again.

He smiled at me, before his face turns serious.

"But I'm serious Cali, I'm never going to leave you. Don't push me away, please" he says and I nod.

"Promise me if it gets too much you would walk away with out looking back?" I ask.

His eyes widen before his jaw clenched.

"Hell no. You are worth it, Cali. I'll go through hell and back a million times if it meant you were mine in the end" he says, grabbing my hands and kissing them.

"You are worth it"

My eyes begin to close but before they did, Shawn kissed my forehead and cheek.

"I love you"

My heart fluttered and I felt butterflies in my tummy, I don't know if it was a dream or if it actually happened, but I smiled and let myself think he actually said it.

I woke up to the sun shining brightly from the curtains, I looked over to see Shawn gone, along with Charlotte.

Panic started to get the better of me when I found that her cot was also gone.

I quickly get out of bed and look in my room.

What I see makes my heart fill with warmth.

Shawn was sleeping, Charlotte was on his chest and his arms were wrapped around her. Her cot was moved into here too and they were both sleeping.

Charlotte opened her eyes, blinking down at Shawn before she got her hand and hit him in the face.

He murmured something before going back to sleep. Charlotte obviously didn't like that because she began to cry and scream.

I bolt over and get her off of Shawn, rocking her gently.

She looked up at me and smiled.

I guess she likes the attention.

"What?! Who died?" Shawn eyes opens and Charlotte smiled over at him before looking at me with the same smile.

Shawn came over and wrapped his arms around me, kissing my lips quickly.

"Good morning" He says, leaning to kiss me again.

"Good morning" I smile but move back so he doesn't kiss me.

"Let me kiss you" He whines, moving closer to me again.

"Morning breath Shawn" I say and he pouts.

Charlotte cries fill the room.

"And good morning to you too" I say, looking down and kissing her cheek.

"She gets a kiss and not me?" Shawn whines and Charlotte smiled again.

She is going to be a very happy girl.

"I kissed her cheek, Shawn." I point out and he smirked.

He tapped his cheek and I rolled my eyes but went to kiss his cheek anyway.

Last minute, he turned his head and kissed me back.

Eh, what the hell? I thought as he pulls me closer to deepen the kiss.

"Now it's a good morning" He smiled at me, kissing my nose before picking up Charlotte.

"Want some breakfast? Yeah?" He asked Charlotte carrying her downstairs.

"Go have a shower and all that, I'll look after her" He smiled and I nodded, kissing his cheek.

"Thanks" I smile and he grinned.

"I'll do whatever if you always thank me like that" He grins but his eyes lit up.

I smiled as I walked into the bathroom, quickly having a shower whilst brushing my teeth.

I walked out after i had washed my hair and done my teeth.

I put on some joggers with a black shirt before throwing my wet hair on the top of my head.

I walk downstairs and my heart warms when Shawn is with Charlotte.

"Let go" He pouts at her, trying to pull his finger out of her hand.

She smiled at him but it was more of a 'I'm winning' smile.

She looked behind Shawn to see my standing there. She immediately let go of his finger and gave me an innocent smile.

Shawn looked behind to see me stood there.

"Hello beautiful" He smiled, his eyes raking my body. "You look gorgeous" He walks over, holding Charlotte in his arms.

"Thank you, but I haven't really tried" I shrug, taking Charlotte from Shawn.

"You still look gorgeous" He smiled, wrapping his arms around me and resting his head on my shoulder as we both looked down at Charlotte.

"I've saw the letter" Shawn says softly, "I'm sorry you had to read that and take care of her when you were on your own" He adds and I smile.

"It's okay. I didn't want to wake you. You shouldn't have been pulled into my mess of a life" I say and he pouts.

"I want to be in your life, Cali. Besides, I think Charlotte knows we're together. Did you see how she let me go when you appeared?" He asked, a small smile on his lips.

"Yeah, I did. Then she looked at me with that innocent smile" I laugh and Shawn grinned.

"Guys I'm home" Danny shouts, "I've got Connor and a few of his friends" He adds and we both look at Charlotte.

"Um, Danny can you come here please?" I ask and he walked in, looking at Charlotte.

"Who's child is this?" He almost shouts with wide eyes.

"She is our sister" I explain, handing him the letter, "The door bell rang and I saw her in a basket with this note" I say, looking down at Charlotte as she began to cry.

I begin to rock her. She grabbed my finger and smiled over at Shawn.

"Little tease" He mumbled and I laughed.

"Are you okay? You know that we don't blame you for what happened" Danny says, calling Connor and explaining what happened.

"She didn't have a name so I called her Charlotte, we can change it though" I say and they shook their heads.

"She is beautiful" Danny smiled, "Can I hold her?" He asked and I nodded.

I gave her to Danny and she immediately began to cry.

Danny looked lost as to what to do.

"Charlotte" I whisper. She held her hand out again.

"It's your big brother" I smile and she smiled before looking up at Danny.

Then she smiled again.

"Aww, she smiled at me!" He grins before handing her to Connor.

Danny came over and hugged me.

"We're sorry you had to deal with all that last night" He whispers.

"It's okay, Shawn was here with me" I say and he smiled.

"Are you together?" He asked but all I felt was my cheeks heat up.

"Good, he is good for you" He says with a smile before walking to Shawn.

"Congrats bud. You didn't tell me you got with my sister" He says, winking over at me.

I groaned and hid my face in my hands.

"You knew it was going to happen" Shawn shrugs but smiled.

"Aw, hear that guys. Connor's sister isn't available anymore" Danny shouts and I hear them asking 'why'.

I'm not sure why but some of Connors friends made it very obvious that they liked me.

"Her boyfriend is here" Danny shouts.

"His friends likes you?" Shawn asked, looking down at me as he wrapped his arm around my shoulder.

"Some of them" I admit. Shawn looked at the door.

"Should I tell them you are mine?" He whispers, intertwining our fingers.

"That really isn't necessary, Shawn. They already know" I say and he shrugs, smirking.

"Let me tell them" He smirked and I rolled my eyes.

"Come on, gorgeous. I want to show them you are mine!" He pouts and Danny shook his head smiling.

"Just don't scare my friends away, Shawn" Connor smiled, looking down at Charlotte.

"I'll try not to, no promises" Shawn smiled and Connor laughed.

We began to walk to the door anyway, to go back to my room.

Danny said we could try to get some sleep now, they were going to help take care of her.

There were probably 7 boys there, I knew a few of them briefly.

"Hi Cali" Hey all smile and I roll my eyes but laugh.

"Hi boys" I grin but Shawn pulled me to his side.

"You see this girl?" He asked, "She is mine" He says but then takes a threatening step forward.

"Shawn" I say and begin to laugh.

"See, she is my girl" He says, seeming quite proud that he had scared a bunch of 15 year olds.

I shook my head and walked on up stairs, Shawn following me.

"Can I get a kiss? Please" He pouts and I smile.

I press my lips to his briefly before I pull away.

"I want another" He pouts.

"I'm tired" I say and his eyes widens before he practically carries me to my bed.

"Lets sleep" He says and I nod, not being able to open my eyes.

Shawn plants a soft kiss on my lips before he pulls away and cuddles into me.

"Sleep baby" He says before I'm able to drift off into a sleep.
