Her Ex Nemesis Billionaire

Prelude...

“Did you take your drugs this morning?” She asked politely, trying to sound as gentle as she can, even though she feels on edge and moody. According to what he has told her before, it has been a little bit over two years since he had his laryngeal and voice box surgery, and there are drugs he is required to take every morning to prevent an infection. Now she only asked if he took his drugs not because she thinks he is careless, but because she wants to have something to talk about. The silence is slowly eating and killing her inside, but the man only glanced over his shoulders and nodded at her in reply.

Seated on the edge of his King size bed, his eyes did not meet with hers even after he has been away for more than two months and only returned yesterday. She craved for him while he was gone, but he doesn’t even seemed to have missed her at all.

Her husband is such a cold person. He has always been a cold person, and she still doesn’t even remember saying yes to marrying such a man. She only woke up from a four months long coma and could not remember anything about her past life or her name but the handsome man told her he was her husband, and her name was Anna Colton. Well, even her passport was written Anna Colton, but the evidences were not enough. He said she had an accident which led her into a coma, but how can she not have any family member in the whole of Cuba? How can he tell her she has not a single person alive? Why does he not talk about the location of their old neighborhood? How can he not tell her convincing stories about her past life? She always gets that sort of vibes and feelings as though he is carrying some mega secrets on his shoulders. But whatever it is he is hiding, he can keep doing that for now. Everyday is for the thief, and one day will be for the owner.

“I am going out to check on Willow later. Will be sleeping over at her place tonight since you won’t be needing me here. Please tell your big guys to stop following me around. I want to be at liberty to walk around without them” Her hand settled down on the door knob as she waited patiently to hear his reply.

“Do what you have to do and pretend you don’t see them” She heard him spoke back in his usual croaky voice as he stood up from the bed and moved close to his cabin bookshelf. His hand grabbed the small vitamin container sitting on the furnished wood.

Anna felt like a ticking time bomb about to explode in her anger. Pretend to not see them? Does she not have the right to demand for any sort of freedom? “I am so done with living like this. I am going to find out all the secrets you’re hiding away from me. I promise you I will dig into the past and find out whatever you’re hiding” Anna threatened as she turned her back and flung herself through the door, but before she could reached the end of the long corridor, she felt his hand yanking her backward and she slammed her back in him.

“You promised to obey me. You promised to trust and do everything I ask of you” He croaked into her ears with his hands cupping both sides of her shoulders. She could feel the heat and sensation of his body warming her up. Whenever he touches her, her body shakes and her heart palpitations increase. “I care about you... And the past will hurt us both like I told you before”

“Don’t give me that bullshit. You don’t care about me... you never cared for once. You are so cold and mean. I still don’t even know who the hell you are by the way... just get away from me” Anna pushed down his hands from her shoulders in a violent manner but he still caught hold of her left arm and pulled her back before she could escape him.

“Look here, wife. I understand that what you’re going through is...” Anna slapped him hard on the face before he could finish his sentence. “You understand nothing. And don’t ever lay your hands on me” She stormed away with her feet crashing into the hard floor, leaving him standing in the corridor like a tall statue.

It was not the first time she has become so violent, but it was the first time she has slapped him. She crouched on her bed and buried her face into her knees, already regretting her actions.

Knock Knock...

She rose her head and watched as her door slowly opened before his figure entered through. “We need to talk. Come to my room right now” His eyes did not meet hers even when he spoke this time and he swiftly moved out without wasting not a second.

Anna sprang out of bed and slip on her bedroom slippers, pad them across the wooden floor as she exit through the door. She advanced to his room which was on the opposite side of the corridor. Their house is a big flat with four bedrooms and it gets so lonely whenever he travels and leave her with two giant men as bodyguards.

The door made a little sound when she pushed it open.

“Here. Sit down lets talk” His hand roughly pat on the bed.

She heaved a sigh and moved to where he has ordered her to sit. She regrets slapping him, but not willing to show him any sign of that.

“See... Wife. I want a fresh start. If you’re willing to give me that chance, I will treat you better. You can tell me whatever it is that you want from me” He said with a stony expression. His eyes were now summing her up in one glance “Sit down” He added.

“I want answers. I have questions in my head and I want real answers” Anna felt herself shouting in frustration as she dropped herself on the sofa now sitting next to him.

“Questions about the past I suppose” He raked his hands through his roughened hair.

“Exactly” She maintained a serious voice

“Go on. Ask” He lowered his eyes to the floor on his opposite direction.

“Why am I not allowed to have a normal life like other women, why do i have to follow the rules? You spent more than two months on your so called business trip even after promising to spend nothing more than two weeks... I suspect you’re cheating on me with a mistress or some woman over there. You don’t even act like my husband in the first place, what have i done so wrong to be punished this way? And you keep lying to me whenever I ask you about my past”
