Chap 13: Repercussions

Dylan dragged Aiden to his room and pushed him to the wall forcefully.

" What the f**k was that?" he roared, and Aiden trembled in fear looking at Dylan's eyes red with anger.

" I-I..., H-He..." Aiden tried to say, and Dylan gripped Aiden's shoulder tightly. " Tell me, what were you doing with that bastard?"

Dylan didn't know why seeing Aiden with Bill bothered him so much, but he knew one thing if his Dad hadn't stopped him, he would have killed that bastard for sure.

Knowing that his silence would anger Dylan even more, Aiden stuttered a response, " I-I didn't do anything. H-He forced himself on me."

Dylan vaguely remembered seeing Aiden trying to push Bill away from him and felt a sense of relief. His mood suddenly changed, and he said in a calmer voice, " Ahh yes! Obviously, you wouldn't dare to do such a thing. "

Aiden nodded frantically, and Dylan loosened the grip he had on him. " I should have known you are not the type to associate with fags like him. I know that you are not gay."

Aiden was petrified in his spot at the mention of the word 'gay.' He was scared even to move as he felt if he did anything, his secret would be exposed.

Dylan was continuously cursing his friend Bill. " ... he acted like a macho man in front of us, and finally he turned out to be what? A freak!"

Aiden didn't like to hear Dylan so blatantly cursing homosexuals, but he did not dare to stop him, not now, not ever.

Even after staying with Dylan for six years, there were so many things about Dylan that Aiden couldn't understand. Dylan found fun in bullying and harming others, used women like tissue, and was very prejudiced towards homosexuals. Aiden never had the guts to question Dylan about his unreasonable judgments and simply hoped he would improve as he grew up.

The following day was unpleasant for Dylan as the previous night incident escalated and took a new turn.

Bill's father, who was the current Mayor, was not happy his son was being beaten so severely and that too in the presence of so many elite guests. His party members suggested he had to take action against Dylan as it was a criminal act.

The Mayor and Mr. Hunt belonged to the same political party, and Mr. Hunt was the primary sponsor, so instead of directly arresting Dylan, he called Mr. and Mrs. Hunt to his office to discuss the matter.

As soon as the Hunt's reached the Mayor's office, he pointed out in a not-so-friendly tone, " Your son was very aggressive yesterday. My son has multiple bruises on his face and body, and his jaw has been dislocated."

Mr. Hunt clenched his fist in anger as he was not used to anyone talking to him in that tone. He didn't retaliate only because his son was at fault.

" We are sorry for what happened yesterday, " Mr. Hunt said, keeping a straight face.

" A mere sorry from you would not solve the problems, Mr. Hunt. Your son's act is criminal, and I must take action."

" What? Are you planning to press charges against my son, " Mrs. Hunt blurted out angrily.

" I have to do something, or else everyone would think the Mayor cannot protect his own son," the Mayor said indignantly.

" So, are you planning to send my son to prison?" Mrs. Hunt roared.

" Calm down, Diana. I will handle this," Mr. Hunt whispered.

" I can't help it, and your son is an adult now. He should not have done that," the Mayor said in a matter-of-fact tone.

Mr. Hunt realized the Mayor was trying to fulfill his personal grudge against Dylan for hurting his son, but he too was a father, and he would not allow anyone to harm his only son.

"Okay, you can press the charges against my son," Mr. Hunt said calmly while Mrs. Hunt held his arm and said in a hushed tone, " What the f**k are you saying?"

" Don't worry, Diana, I won't let our son go to prison, so let me talk," Mr. Hunt assured his wife.

The Mayor was confused that Mr. Hunt agreed so quickly. While he was pondering over it, he heard Mr. Hunt say, " But I will also press charges against your son."

" What? On what basis would you do that?" the Mayor asked, confused.

" Your son assaulted my adopted son, and let me remind you, my adopted son is not an adult yet, and your son is," Mr. Hunt smirked at the Mayor.

The Mayor was shocked. " That's a lie; you are making this up."

" Am I? Are you sure of that? Ohhh... I forgot to mention the main point here. It was not just an assault; it was sexual assault."

The Mayor jumped up from his seat, banging the table. " That's preposterous. You are trying to accuse my son of something he has not done."

" I have the proof. We have cameras all over our Mansion, and your son's act was captured on camera." Mr. Hunt took out his phone, opened the camera footage, and showed it to the Mayor.

The Mayor watched his son approach a boy and attempt to get close to him while the boy kept trying to push him away. The Mayor's face turned pale, and he was stunned, speechless.

Mr. Hunt looked at his wife, who gave him a victorious smile. He internally praised Dylan for suggesting that he blackmail the Mayor with the CCTV footage.

Seeing the Mayor's pale face, Mr. Hunt decided to increase his worries even more so that he could not even consider laying a finger on his son.

" Diana, what will the headlines be in tomorrow's newspaper?"

" What, honey?" Diana asked in a sweet voice.

" The Mayor's 18-year-old son sexually assaulted a minor boy in a party, and the boy's brother intervened to save him from the assault. Our son would become a Hero," Mr. Hunt said loudly so that the Mayor could hear him clearly.

The Mayor suddenly looked at Mr. and Mrs. Hunt with an almost pleading expression. " You don't have to be so harsh, Mr. Hunt. We can discuss this matter calmly."

" I came here to discuss this matter calmly, but you said you will send my son to prison."

The Mayor gritted his teeth, trying to control himself from cursing Mr. Hunt. He took a deep breath and then said, " I-I didn't mean that. It's just that the advisers suggested if I don't punish someone who harmed my son, it will look like I am going against the law. It might also affect the image of our political party."

" So, what do you suggest we do now?" Mr. Hunt asked.

" Not to worry. Our sons have just turned 18. Teens tend to make such mistakes at this age," the Mayor said, trying to laugh it off while Mr. Hunt smirked at him, seeing the sudden change in his behavior.

" Nobody needs to go to prison. Your son will just have to do a few hours of community service," the Mayor said.

" I am okay with that, and I hope this incident will not affect our future relations." Mr. Hunt got up from his seat. " Thank you. We will be leaving now," saying this, both Mr. and Mrs. Hunt got out of the Mayor's office.

As soon as Mr. and Mrs. Hunt got inside their car, Mrs. Hunt yelled, " The nerve of that guy, he wanted to send my son to the prison."

" Instead of yelling here, throw some sense into your son. He is no longer a kid. He was lucky this time, but he wouldn't always be this lucky," said Mr. Hunt annoyed.

Mrs. Hunt scoffed. " What is the point of having all this wealth and power if we cannot protect our son?"

" That's not the point here, Diana. Didn't you see how violent Dylan was yesterday?"

" It's not Dylan's fault. It's all because of that orphan boy you adopted. I told you he is not a good influence for our son."

" Oh, come on, Diana. Even you know it's not his fault."

" How can you say that? It all started because of him and that Mayor's boy. Moreover, why should Dylan go for community service? I suggest you give that video to the media. Even the Mayor and his son should face the consequences."

" I cannot spoil my relations with the Mayor. It's essential for our Business. Rather we should make sure Dylan avoids such situations in future."

Mrs. Hunt was annoyed but did not complain further as she knew her husband was right. She then thought about Dylan and said, " I am still wondering why Dylan got so aggressive over that orphan."

" You are right. Dylan usually doesn't care about anyone, but yesterday he seemed like a completely different person. If I hadn't stopped him, he would have killed that boy, " Mr. Hunt said, recalling the previous night's incident.

" We should go home and talk to him," Mrs. Hunt said and asked the driver to speed up.
