CHAPTER TWO

10 years later..

The moon lit above the horizon in the midst of the dark night as a young man was blankly staring outside, he has a calm demeanor. His crimson eyes encircled with dark holes like ellipses staring blankly from above. His white fair skin was perfectly blended with his red lips and perfect shape of visage.

Beside him, A young woman in her nighties was grinning. He sank his fangs into the female vampire, not minding if it leaves a scar on the woman's neck. He sank deeper into her flesh, that provide the blood he need as a descendants of royal blood.

But the blood wasn't enough to satisfy his needs nor was the female vampire as he tore out of the neck leading the woman to go limp and fall under the bed.

Beyond the years, Dwilight was grown into one of the most powerful vampire Lords who the people had grown chary of . He had a dangerous power that scared people more than the other powerful vampires.

A knock was heard on the door. It opens to reveal a man in his mid-20's. His silver hair flew along with his lopsided smile chiseled on his feautures. He wore a luxurious clothes, similar to those high class family in their clan. It was Trevor, the vampire Lord's friend.

"As expected." Trevor exclaimed, not trying to averted his gaze on the corpse of the woman on the floor. "You have already killed five women today and a couple on the previous day."

"Just let the maid do the stuff." The young lord chanted without taking a glance to his interlocutor. As soon as he step out of his king size bed, he wrapped a black robe around his body and run his hand through his hair in the process.

"Cruel as ever." Trevor shook his head for reason and slouch himself at the chaise lounge at comfortable position. "It still baffles me, why do you have to employ a few vampires against the hunters. They are insufficient."

The Vampire lord arched his brows in question as to why he tossed an ear-to-ear smile. "Do not underestimate my supremacy, dear vampire. I might surprise you on the actual turn out of numbers."

"But do not underestimate humans as well." Trevor blurted with conviction. "Humans are finally succeeding in weaponizing the Dark Blood."

The Vampire lord lit a cigarette before he took a glance of Trevor. He sigh and make a large puff from the cigarette. Letting the smoke filled his lungs before he blew it out through his lips into the air.

"I'm aware of that situation." Lord Dwilight answered, his gaze locked upon the view of moonlight outside the four sided window. "Well to put it simply, humans are defective items. Letting their desire run loose, taking part in forbidden experiment."

"Can't blame them though. They are striving for their freedom."

Before he could snap another sentence, they were interrupted by another knock on the door before it swung opened and a man with a dark beard holding a parchment in his right hand barge in. He is quite older compared to the latter vampires.

"Young lord, terrible news had been brought by one of the ruler regions," the man informed.

"Spill it," he respond without taking glimpse of the man. He had been receiving a streak of bad news recently. Its a threats to his supremacy that the hunters are finally becoming formidable.

The servant heaved a sigh, trying to composed himself without being nervous for reason. "T-The vampires main unit is no longer operating at this rate. All of them were reported dead. A-And t-they were slayed by the hand of a single huntress--"

Trevor is the first to react in surprised while the lord of vampires arched his brows in amusement. "I sent the vampires main unit to assault tonight. It is impossible for all of them to die just because you are saying they were slaughtered by a single 'woman'" He emphasized the last word. The intonation in his monotonous tone tells a part that he didn't believe to the servant.

"B-But it was the truth, lord Dwilight.." the man stuttered, quickly diverting his gaze down on the floor. He can't looked into the young lord's eyes any longer. It feels like a dreadful hole, a trap and he'll helplessly get out.

"Eh?" Trevor butt in. A confused expression surfaced his eyes as he exchanged his gaze from the man to his friend. "A huntress you saying? That's absurd! The Flame phoenix hunters were all consist of men."

Trevor looked at Dwilight who had been puffing and filling the air with smoke. "You are saying nonsense. No woman could ever had the capability of slaughtering numerous vampires in a snap. Women are weaklings."

Still striving his best to make the king believe, he shook his head slowly. "B-But it was true, young lord. The woman performed cunning moves and wields some kind of big and powerful weapon that makes her easily slaughtered vampires."

The streak substantial diminution of the vampires, mostly in the main unit these passed few weeks who he sought as a threat to his conspiracy, questions him either. Something is not right, they must have been weaponizing the Dark blood. But how?

He finally looked at the man, flashing his grinned. "Easier said. I want to see this woman."

• • •*• • •

12:56 am.

"Troublesome vampires..."

A woman with a straight lively black hair reaching down her curve waistline framed her brunette emotionless eyes, was standing firmly upon the peak of 11th floor building, able her to see the vast size of Zitheria in birds-eye view. From there, she can vividly see numerous figures of humans, stealthily making their way to each houses.

Vampires...

The creatures that the people of Zitheria had grown wary of. Since the kingdom was subjucate and dominated by the pure blood vampire, people became their subordinated preys.

This is going to be a long fun night... And bloody. She thought.

The woman was dressed in dark fitted combat suit paired with high-black boots, that was completely soaked with blood. It includes her combat tools and holster adhering around her little waist where high caliber of guns and sharp silver knives are located.

Her right hand wields an extravagantly big, heavy scythe that seemingly tantamount to the weight of thousand rocks, whilst the spherical moon was luminously emitting her black figure throughout the night.

She's the ferocious huntress from the government secret military group known as the Flame phoenix hunters, a league of warriors who bound to fought for vampires. Being the sole survivor from that miserable night and witnessed how vampires mercilessly slayed humans gave her a fuel thirst for retribution.

Bloodlust had been her friend throughout the ages as a huntress and it makes her happy that the blood stained across her clothes were the outcomes of killing hundred vampires today.

She casted her sight at the east direction where countless corpse of vampires lying and bathed with their own blood on the ground. Those are the members of Vampires main unit who were planning to assault tonight but it seems fate doesn't on their side.

A loud spluttered was bombarded at the opposite direction of the kingdom which makes her head snapped on that part. She slightly squinted her sight as she saw a large puff of smoke filled the air.

"It looks inviting," she muffled under her breath. Without wasting any seconds she began to run as fast as she could accompanied by a leap towards the subsequent building without any tainted of difficulty, that her long dark hair blew off behind her. Her stunning moves and action makes you thought that she's a ninja.

As the years passed, Ai grew up in the fortress of hunters, living with them means adopting the real world and opening her eyes by the bitter truth. During her training as a huntress, her comrades sought her as a dexterous woman in handling or wielding weapons where she actually good at.

For her, there's only one reason to live: To kill vampires.

She halted when she reached the fourth building and delicately glide down onto the ground. She glared on the male vampire who've mercilessly sucking the old lady's neck.

She shook her head, trying to remove what planted on her mind. The memories that had been sealed away for good began flashing before her eyes. Her greatest pain, the moment when she lost her sister, the times when her parents murdered.

The huntress tossed her head at the roadside when she heard a whimpered of a human. There, she saw a woman holding her child in her arms, begging as tears were trailing down on her cheeks, but not for a male vampire who was grinning an ear-to-ear while stalking near the poor woman.

Ai whistle loudly, enough to be audible and caught the vampire's attention. She didn't take it a mistake, the male blood sucker hastily turned his head to her direction.

"Here coward!" She called and flashed her evil grinned. She did her best not to show any emotion, it drove the vampires crazy and she wasn't planning on giving them any satisfaction they hoped for seeing her suffering.

"Why don't you fight who wields weapon?"

"And who might be you?" the vampire asked, disregarding her remarks. He took the opposite direction and walk towards the huntress.

"You don't wanna know.."

"Interferance can lead to death, human." the vampire said. The sweet smell of the huntress blood was already blooming out as he scramped near the target. It was quite hard to resist.

The time feels like decelerating when there's about a two or three meters distance between them as if the vampire moves very slowly towards her, that she can even strew an evil smirk before stabbing the blade on his flesh.

Without a blink, the huntress rapidly vanish in the vampire's sight. Likewise to the speed of blowing wind, the next thing the vampire knew, the huge sharp blade of the scythe was tugged in his body.

Ai leaned closer to his ear and whispered something to him while blood was bursting out in his body. "Reckless can lead to end, vampire."

Everything seems to go back in normal speed of time as she swung her weapon to remove the stain of the blood and watched the vampire slowly limp on the ground bathed with its own blood.

That was an easy.. She thought.

She then turned to the woman whose face was still surfaced with fear. "Wait for the government military group, they will provide your haven."

The woman thanked her. She wish she can able to go back in time where she can protect her family like she used to now.

"Ai!" She whipped around and found a bunch of male military in each with identical uniforms, her comrades.

"Where have you been?" ask Mavis, a man with a disheveled dark hair and white skin.

he was breathlessly, like he ran in kilometers.

"To a place where I should probably been," she replied without looking. It was hard for them to decipher her, she was like a logic that was impossible to answer.

Mavis gasp in amusement when his gaze landed on the hundred corpse of vampires lying on the ground. "Y-You killed all of these?!"

The huntress didn't utter a word. She remain motionless, looking at the horizon with those clueless brunette eyes. They were lovely, yet unpredictable.

"You are splendid!" Mavis said.

On the other side of the castle, the lord of Zitheria tried to wandered his sight around using his vampire oculetics-ability within the reach of the hunters perimeter.

His gaze fell upon Ai who had been staring at the moon with implacable hatred. He suddenly looked down on her lips.

They were the reddest lips he had ever beheld and this feisty girl's beauty blew up his mind. He had never seen someone look innocent and pure, but can he called it innocent if she's all behind the bloody raid of the vampires main unit?

The young lord smirk inwardly. The truth was, not that he would admit it to everyone, that he had be relentlessly looking at her with his lust full eyes.

He tried to brought his eyes away from the natural beauty and looked at the smug faces of the hunters.

"Looks like this is going to be a treacherous plot."
