BORROWED TIME

BEGINNING

CINDY

"Will you marry me?" Brandon is kneeling down in front of me, holding the small box that had a precious, lustrous ring, with teary eyes and a sweet smile on his face.

Brandon and I are together for almost 5 years. In those 5 years that I've been with him, I was so happy that I would now finally marry him. We've been so many fights, problems, and other trials in our relationships and I can't believe that we conquer it together.

"Yes, I will marry you," I answer with a teary-eyed. I really love him. I can't wait to build a family with him.

"I love you so much, baby," Brandon says in almost whispered when I gave him my answer. He is tearing up too.

Today is my father's 63rd birthday and he uses this chance to propose to me.

The warm applause that came from our both family wraps us, as well as the sweet music.

I gave a giant smile at Brandon, my finance while he is putting the ring on my finger. I look at him after he put the ring on. He is very happy. His smiles almost reach his ears. Seeing him happy to marry me makes my heart even feel more flattered.

I think, knowing that the guy whom you love, loves you back is the most precious feeling in the world. Because you knew that your feelings are safe.

Brandon hugs me tightly. "I love you, baby." He whispers again while brushing my back softly.

"I love you too." I firmly reply, hugging him back tightly. "I love you so much."

My love for him was never a question for me because I do when the day that he said he loves me. Even though, he was a busy person because he is a businessman. He often forgets to call me or texts me, my love still for him was pure. It never changes, until now.

And I love him even more today.

I look at the engagement ring on my finger, smiling.

I will be Mrs. Sevilla soon.

I can't wait.

TWO MONTHS LATER ~

WEDDING DAY

This is it! This is the day that I've been waiting for in my life.

Currently, I am here right now in my room, facing in the human size mirror, while my hairstylist is fixing my hair and my make up artist, on the other hand, putting a light make-up on my face.

Just a little longer. I will be able to wear my dream wedding gown and see my handsome groom, standing in front of the altar, waiting for me.

I took a tissue in front of me to wipe out a drop of tears that had well in my eyes. Seriously, I can't help but feel emotional right now. I feel nervous as well too.

I'm really getting married.

After they fixed up my hair and face, they now guided me to wear my wedding gown. This gown of mine was designed by my best friend, Mika.

This gown was our dream gown actually. When Mika and I were kids we both dreamed of getting married to a man we loved while we were both wearing the same dream gown.

But the ending is, I will get married first before her.

And speaking of her, she just enters my room.

"Omg! You look stunning!" Mika beams happiest and she gave me a short hug. "I'm so glad that I didn't make any mistakes in making your dream gown. It suits you very well. Perfect!" She's so happy.

"Of course. I know this is your dream gown too. You are inspired to do so." I chuckle.

"You are my inspiration, bitch. I'm so happy for you." Mika gave me her sweet smile.

"Thank you, bitch. Let it be when you get married soon. I will make this kind of gown for you. I'll make sure that you will look a queen on your wedding day."

"You're so sweet! I will wait for that!" We both giggles.

Sooner, my mum enters my room. She was so happy to see me, wearing a wedding gown. She even tears up, knowing that her one and only princess will be getting married. She also gave me a beautiful necklace. This necklace was given by my dad to her at their wedding day back then. She told me that she and dad promise to take this necklace over to their daughter soon when she gets married.

And that is me.

After my emotional talks with my mum, I now got out of my room, went downstairs, and goes out directly to our house.

There outside, our white limousine is waiting for me.

I will really go now to the church.

Breathing deeply, I gave my mum a short kiss on her cheek as well as my best friend Mike before I enter the limousine car.

I feel so nervous and excited at the same time when I already settled myself inside the limousine car.

Few minutes to go, I will now be going to see my beloved groom. We haven't seen and contact each other for almost two weeks before this day, so I bet we are both happy and can't wait to see each other later.

--

CHURCH

In the distance, from the inside of the car, I saw the people outside the church, waiting for my departure. Including my cousins, my best friend, my mum, and my dad.

When our limousine car has stopped in front of the church, I could hear their screams in happiness through the gestures of their mouth.

Goodness! I'm tearing up. I'm so happy, seeing them feel happy for me too. I feel touched.

I feel like, I will going to cry when I see Brandon later.

After a while, our driver got out of the driver seat to open the door for me.

The screams get even louder from the people who are close to me when I finally got out of our car.

My mum and dad walk near me.

"I'm so happy for you, my little baby. Enjoy your day. Mum will be there, watching you entering the new journey of your life. I love you so much." Mum says with tears and gave me short hugs and kiss on my cheek.

I teared up as well. "Thank you so much, mum. I love you too." I reply, and she now gets inside of the church.

Dad, on the other hand, took my left hand to put around on his right arm. "The necklace does look good on you, my princess. I'm so happy for you."

"Dad..." I can't really speak right now. Ah, they make me cry. I guess, my make up is getting ruined now.

"Shh. I love you." Dad smiles at me.

I smile at him back, nodding my head. "I love you too, Dad," I say between sobbing.

And Daddy and I started walking into the church.

🎶Here we stand today

Like we always dreamed

Starting out our life together

Light is in your eyes

Love is in our heart

I can't believe you're really mine forever🎶

I can't really hold back my tears as I am walking now down the aisle with my dad, watching the smiles of the people that surround me as well as my beloved soon to be the husband that is waiting for me in front of the altar.

Brandon is a bit far from my direction, however, I can still see his brightest smile.

'My man.'

🎶Been rehearsin' for this moment all my life

So don't act surprised

If the feeling starts to carry me away🎶

Dad is brushing my hand gently, whispering how much he is sad because in a few minutes I would be leaving home to go with Brandon. yet he is still happy because at last, I found a man who can love me like how he loves me.

🎶On this day I promise forever

On this day I surrender my heart

Here I stand, take my hand

And I will honor every word that I say On this way🎶

Finally, my Dad now takes my hand over to my groom.

I am now facing my beloved groom, Brandon. His face is full of tears like mine.

"Please take care of my daughter," Dad says to Brandon.

"I will take care and love her, Sir," Brandon says.

"Thank you." Dad pats his shoulder and then he leaves.

Brandon places my hand around on his arm.

"I love you." He mumbles as we walk going to the altar.

"I love you too," I reply.

The priest has now started to give his words to us.

🎶Not so long ago

This earth was just a field

Of cold and lonely space

Without you

Now everything's alight

Now everything's revealed

And the story of my life is all about you

So if you feel the cool winds blowing through your nights

I will shelter you

I'm forever here to chase your fears away

On this day

I promise forever

On this day

I surrender my heart

Here I stand, take my hand

And I will honor every word I say

On this day🎶

"Do you, Brandon, promise to be Cindy's partner; to comfort her, and to listen to her? To celebrate her success and support her struggles? To love her, respect her, and tenderly care for her through all the days of your life?" The priest asked Bradon.

Brandon look at my eyes, smiling as droplets of tears flowed down on his cheeks. "I do, Father."

"Do you, Cindy, promise to be Brandon's partner; to comfort him, and to listen to him? To celebrate his success and support his struggles? To love him, respect him, and tenderly care for him through all the days of your life?"

Now, it's my turn to answer. "I do, Father." I really, really do.

"Wear these rings as a reminder of the vows you have just taken."

Brandon took the ring, to put it on my left ring finger. "I Brandon, take you as you are, loving who you are now and who you are yet to become. I promise to take you with all your faults and all your strengths, as I offer myself to you with all my faults and strengths. I promise to choose you to be no other than yourself. Loving what I know of you, and trusting who you will become. To be your lover, companion, and friend. I promise to be your ever faithful, honest, and loving husband. I love you so much. I will love you always."

After Bradon gave his vows for me, now it is my turn.

"I Cindy, take you to be the husband of my days, the friend of my life, my partner to share — whatever may our life bring us. Whether it be trouble or sorrow, goodness, or joyfulness, we shall face it together as one. I promise to choose, respect, and honor you when everything gets hard and tiring. To have and hold you, in tears and in laughter. In sickness and in health. I promise to cherish and love you from this day forward, and for the rest of my life. I love you so much, baby." I cried as I ended the sentence.

I cannot help it.

"In 10, 20, 30 years you will change, but your rings, which represent your vows, will be constant. The promises to love, cherish, and respect one another no matter what life brings or what paths you take will always be worn around your finger. Your love will be constant as you walk together into the unknown. You may now, kiss your bride."

As the priest announces, Brandon, my husband, cupped my face and kiss me. With that, our family, friends, and other visitors that are close in our heart stood up to give us a congratulations applause.

"Now introducing the newlyweds, Brandon and Cindy!"

I'm married. I'm his wife now, and he is my husband.

--

That was the happiest day of my whole life, but I didn't expect that sooner, a monstrous lie would strikes me.

Not everyone who made a promise will keep their promises. Because not everyone who made a promise in your life will never lie.
