Chapter 5 In a Dream

When she boiled herbs this time, Hong Jin had passed out for two days.

She was too weak and got injured, she felt faint and had a high fever.

Hong Jin opened his eyes dazedly and touched her warm forehead. She could not help but give a bitter laugh.

It seemed that she had never been ill since she was five years old, but she could not remember how many times she had fallen ill since she met Nie Cangming.

Every time she got through it by herself.

She had not eaten or drunk for two days and no one came outside to disturb her. Hong Jin's body felt heavy. She dragged herself to the long corridor of the mansion, intending to go to the kitchen to find something to eat.

However, before she could take a few steps, she heard some messy footsteps from a corner not too far away. Hong Jin stayed put and saw the servants rushing towards her. They grabbed her arm and pressed her to the ground without any explanation.

"She is the one who inflicted harm on the princess. Quickly hand her over to the prince!"

She heard buzzing in her ears, and she could not hear what those people were saying clearly. The fresh scab that formed over a wound on her arm reopened in the midst of the fight.

Being held down by someone, Hong Jin was forced to kneel in the middle of the room. There was an overwhelming smell of herbs in the room, and many people in imperial physicians' uniforms were busy coming and going.

Hong Jin opened her mouth and raised her head feebly to look ahead, only to see a pair of red-rimmed eyes on the man's face.

Her hair was grabbed by someone, and she was pulled to look at Nie Cangming's eyes. Her scalp was extremely painful, and her stomach twisted. Her entire body, including her heart, hurt badly everywhere.

She remembered the gentle smile that glinted in his eyes in Poison Valley.

They were as curved as the crescent moon. They looked like countless ripples quivering as the wind blew on the rivers.

She had grown up in Poison Valley with only her master. She had only been accompanied by various herbs.

She, Hong Jin, had only two family members in her life. One was her master and the other was him who had accompanied her for three years in Poison Valley.

"Hong Jin, I was wrong about you. You actually put poison in Yun'er's medicine!"

Hong Jin's eyes were blurred with tears as she was violently thrown to the ground. Her heart throbbed, and she felt bitterness in her throat.

"If it hadn't been for Yun'er's vitality and if the imperial physician hadn't discovered it soon, I'm afraid that she would have been already dead. Yet you're still hiding in your room so casually. Do you think that I will like you without Yun'er?"

Hong Jin bit the corner of her lips, and the scent of blood came from her lips.

"Then I will tell you now. In your dreams!"

The last three words were lowered by the man, but they were full of curses. Hong Jin seemed to hear her heart being torn apart.

"Let me go and see her. I really didn't poison her!"

Hong Jin got up and wanted to run towards Feng Yun'er's bed, but Nie Cangming, who thought she was going to hurt Feng Yun'er, grabbed her and pressed her against the pillar beside them.

"With the help of the imperial physicians, Yun'er is already asleep. What else do you want to do?"

Hong Jin's face hurt and she frowned in pain. She had no strength to break free.

"Hong Jin, what else do you want me to do so that you can hand over the Heavenly Silkworm? Do you like having sex with me?"
