Chapter 11

Nate slouched on his king-sized bed in the VIP suite of the hotel. A special treatment package follows him around by being one of the most sort after Actors in the country. He had delayed arriving because as usual, he needed to have his last bang before committing to a two-month abstinence as a result of filming because like some actors, Nate loves to focus on work when its work time and play when it’s playtime.

He brought out the script from his bag to read through again and prepare for the scenes he’ll be shooting the next day for the first part of the three-part book BOX.

Summer arrived at the scene of filming and handed Juniper her tab. She paused for a while to see how Juniper delivered her character named Leah while shooting was ongoing. Summer thought that Leah wasn’t that different from Juniper. Same sauciness, coupled with a high aura of ego, and no regard for people below them.

Juniper was the least of her worries though, she had a bigger issue to deal with. Her sexual urge to sleep with Nate began to dominate her thoughts again and this time much worse because she’ll be seeing him every day for the next fifty-nine days. She could very well recall her dreams and every single detail fell in place. Being a virgin at this point tortured her. She’d never been sexually attracted to anyone that much and to the extent of her prone losing her V- card.

The shoot for the day finished around eight in the evening, she drove the cast back to their hotel and quickly drove to the crew’s hotel just two blocks away. She managed to successfully not see Nate today but tomorrow was out of the question.

Summer arrived in her room and quickly warmed up Camille. The puppy seemed sad to return the excitement and she knew why. Leaving a puppy alone unattended to always messed with their moods. It dawned on Summer that such punishment is not fit for the poor thing. She made a mental note to drive down to the closest animal shelter very early in the morning. She cuddled her close for a while before taking a shower and settling in her two-piece nightwear. Camille’s call came in just as she was about to lie down on the bed. She reached for her mobile phone on the nightstand and picked the never-ending vibration.

Her excitement squealed out of the speakers. “Marty Donovan just asked me out”

Summer’s eyes bugged out in surprise. “For real? What did you say? ” she asked.

“Fuck yes,” she said

“I am excited for you don’t misunderstand, but are you sure about him not being a sexual predator like the others?”

“Stop being so preachy and just marvel in my celebration and to answer your question, no, is not one of them.”

“You know that I am happy for you. I like every other friend out there don’t want my best friend getting hurt and more so because this guy is not like us”

“He’s not that much above us. He’s just Nate’s manager”

“you know what I mean Cami” Summer heaved a deep sigh

“Speaking of, Marty told me Nate’s in New Orleans for a production”

“He’s right about that. He’s on the same set as me.” Summer revealed suddenly remembering she was inevitably going to see him tomorrow morning.

“Why are you just telling me this? Please don’t tell me you created a scene?”

Summer giggled miserably. She was going through something much worse than shading Nate. She questioned in her mind how Nate suddenly went from someone she loathed to someone she partly liked. The good thing about the whole situation that worked for Summer was because Nate is not aware of her being attracted to him like that. Afterall that part only happened in her dream.

“I didn’t create a scene because it’s my workplace.” Summer rolled her eyes on that note. “Camille says hi” Summer joked while referring to the puppy.

“Stop doing that Summer. It’s not cool”

“Well, she won’t be with me much longer. She deserves better than spending the next two months lonely all day”

Camille could feel the sudden drop in energy from Summer’s voice.

“How are you doing?’’ she asked

“I’m fine. How’s your bar job?” Summer asked.

“It’s going fine. This room has not been the same without you. We miss you”

“Who’s we?”

“I and our tiny bed” Camille joked which earned a laugh from both ends.

“I miss you too,” Summer said.

They talked a little while longer till eleven. Summer made a self-resolution to focus on work and nothing more from thereon. She took a few minutes to lock every fantasy of Nate in a box and submerged it in the river of her mind.

Swore to mentally and physically anew, Summer hurriedly hit the shower the next morning whilst singing the off-key version of a Celine Dion song. She cranks the volume higher as she continued the ‘ A new song day has come’ track.

She headed straight to the nearest animal shelter and successfully dropped Camille off in the hands of capable animal lovers who found the poor animal cute.

It was hard to leave Camille but Summer knew she had to give the puppy a much better life. She headed back to the cast hotel. With a Nate mind free, Summer bought a cup of coffee and bagel from the same vendor the previous morning. It was the perfect thing to eat prior to the proper breakfast served onset.

She was proud of herself for quickly adjusting to the job even though people like Juniper continued to frustrate her for no reason in particular. But the paycheck was worth more than that. She leaned on the bus while consuming her bagel and sipping the coffee. Cassie and Jerome stepped out first and offered their greetings to Summer before entering the bus. Unlike yesterday, Summer would need to drive ten cast members to the location. She waited patiently because she had thirty more minutes to spare.

Nate stepped out of the hotel in his charming aura which as always swooned everyone that dared to watch. He was dressed lightly and still managed to look appealing. He entered the bus without paying attention to who the driver was. Everyone was seated excluding Juniper.

Summer took the driver seat and focused her attention on something else. Nate was busy with the script and Cassie commented on his performance during the last movie of his she’d just watched.

Nate went back to his phone while Cassie and Jerome engaged in another chat.

Juniper stepped out shortly.

“your girlfriend is here” Cassie teased clearly trying to acquaint herself with Nate.

Summer overheard Cassie and was shocked to find out that Juniper and Nate are involved romantically.

On second thought, Summer thought they fit each other with their overbearing attitude.

Arriving at the location just on time, the cast alighted from the bus, and Summer couldn’t help but look at Nate as he walked into the building. She caught a glimpse of Ezra and they both waved to each other.
