Tom and Jerry but with Love

11th March 1997

“I am not sure how it will go” a person in his early thirties spoke with worry in his voice.

“Nothing will happen Maan, Shreya is a fighter she will come out well and even the baby will be fine” the other person beside Maan spoke making his nod his head

“I hope both come out with good babies, Shekar” spoke Maan making Shekar smile. Their wives were inside the operation room in the maternity ward. Maan’s wife, Shreya is in her early thirties making her delivery difficult whereas Sheela, the wife of Shekar was in her late twenties which means her delivery has no complications. Their thoughts were interrupted when the doctor came to talk with them.

“Congratulations sir, both the deliveries went well” the doctor spoke giving happiness to both the friends now turned fathers.

“Mr. Shekar you had a baby boy at 1:30 AM while Mr. Maan you had a baby girl at 2:23 AM and both wives were doing good and are resting” the doctor spoke making them happiest persons in the world.

Maan and Shekar were childhood friends and they moved to Mumbai to settle leaving their families behind. They found love, life, friends in Mumbai but then they lost their family due to a tsunami. The bond between them was then made strong and eventually, they all became a family.

Shekar married Sheela and Maan married Shreya on the same day, now they gave birth on the same day. It was a coincidence which they loved a lot.

“But the girl is having some difficulties as she is pre-mature so she is kept on the incubator, you can meet the boy soon” the doctor spoke making them a shock.

“What happened to her?” Maan asked with a heavy voice

“Nothing major, just some breathing problems…. She will be fine in some days” the doctor spoke making Maan nod his head

“Can we see her?” he asked the doctor, to which he nodded his head

“The baby needs mother warmth soon, then you both can see her together” he spoke and Maan nodded his head at him

“When Shreya will get her consciousness?” Shekar asked to which doctor smiled at him

“She is highly sedated because her operation was not so easy, whereas Sheela is fine, she will be awake in an hour” the doctor spoke making them nod their heads. Soon the doctor left them and moved to other tasks.

“Don’t worry Maan both will be fine” Shekar spoke making his friend smile.

“Let’s pray to god” Maan spoke making Shekar take a deep breath. They both fell in silence till the nurse came with the baby boy. She handed the baby to Maan thinking that he is the father of the boy. Maan took the baby in his arms and he fell in love with him

“He is so cute Shekar, he got his looks from Sheela” spoke Maan looking at Shekar and then at the cute little boy

“Yeah he is so cute, and I wish he doesn’t get her intelligence” he spoke making Maan smile. They both admired the baby and Maan passed the baby to Shekar. Shekar took his son in his arms and he smiled looking at the way the small boy was eagerly looking at the situations around him.

“Sir, Mrs. Shekar is conscious, she is shifted to room number 203, Mrs. Maan is still unconscious and moved to room number 204” a nurse came and spoke to them making them smile.
