Chapter 14 & 15/Epilogue

Chapter 14

The day of the wedding finally arrived and Carrie’s stomach was in knots getting everything ready from her dress to her hair done in time for the walk down the aisle.

She even had to remind Mike that they had to sleep separately the night before, even though they had yet to consummate their relationship…Carrie wanted to wait until they were married…but Mike reluctantly agreed to spend his last night at his apartment until they were married.

Guests were sitting in the chapel when Carrie entered the foyer of the church where her father was waiting to walk her down the aisle to her groom-to-be.

As the music started, Mike and Jim stood at the altar waiting for Carrie to make her grand entrance to say their vows to each other. The flower girl walked down the aisle spreading rose petals as she made her way down the aisle. Next was the ring bearer, as he followed the flower girl to make his way up front where Mike and Jim were standing. Then Terrie came next down the aisle. And finally, it was the bride and her fathers as all eyes were upon her, waiting for her father to hand her over to her groom.

The priest went through the ceremonial run down allowing the bride and groom to say their vows and finally pronouncing them husband and wife in front of everyone. As the guests threw rose petals, the bride and groom made their way down the aisle to the limousine waiting for them to take them to the reception.

Mike and Carrie made their way to the dance floor to begin the first dance as husband and wife. As the bride and groom finished their dance, it was time to cut the cake.

Mike held Carrie’s hand as the two of them cut a slice of cake to feed to each other. Mike gently put a bite into Carrie’s mouth, but Carrie playfully smashed her bite in Mike’s mouth, as she licked the frosting from his lips.

Guests enjoyed their dinner while the best man, Jim, gave his toast to the bride and groom. Then it was time for the groom to throw the garter and the bride to throw her bouquet. The bouquet was caught by Carrie’s sister, Kayla, signifying that, according to tradition, she was supposed to be the next to marry. And it appeared so when she announced to Carrie that she was engaged!

It seemed that Carrie’s wedding made things right with her family. Carrie married the love of her life, and her little sister was engaged too.

The night was finally ending as the Mike and Carrie made their way to their limousine to their hotel suite for their wedding night.

Chapter 15

Carrie was sitting on the plane ready for her honeymoon with Mike to begin in Sydney, Australia. She reflected on the last few months of her life with Mike.

She never thought she would find happiness with a man like Mike. It all still seemed like a whirlwind: being snowed in at the cabin with Mike, getting to know him while being stranded, the moment when he found her in that abandoned shack after she got lost taking a walk alone, spending time until they were rescued, her cancer scare that ended in remission, pledging their love after the cancer, the engagement, wedding, and now they were on their honeymoon. She was blessed to have found such a wonderful guy in Mike. She looked forward to a wonderful, and trials, with Mike as they committed to making a life with each other.

Carrie looked over to see Mike sleeping peacefully and gave him a peck on the lips that roused him from his nap. As the plane began takeoff, they put on their seatbelts as the pilot instructed and braced themselves for the ride. Carrie couldn’t wait to tour Sydney, Australia with Mike at her side.

It was a long flight, but one that Mike and Carrie waited with anticipation. They couldn’t wait until they could start their honeymoon. Back home in the U.S., friends and family wished them well on their journey. It was nice to have such good friends. Carrie reflected on how blessed she was and grateful for everything

Now it was Mike’s turn to blush as Carrie squeezed his hand. He kissed her tenderly on the lips. He wanted more, and so did Carrie. That’s when Carrie found herself doing the unthinkable as she took Mike by the arm and led him to the lavatory.

Locking them inside the lavatory, Mike pushed Carrie upon the tiny counter as he tilted her head toward his to kiss her. Carrie wrapped her legs around Mike’s waist to keep her balance while Mike gently began unbuttoning Carrie’s blouse. As he fondled her breasts, Carrie could feel the sensations running through her body with every touch Mike gave her. With the heat rising between them, Carrie rubbed his groin as the passion became too much too bear. Mike leaned forward and lifted up Carrie’s skirt as she moaned for Mike to enter her.

That’s when Mike suddenly stopped what he was doing. Someone had knocked on the lavatory door ruining their mood as they became embarrassed at what they almost started. They both agreed it was best to wait until they were in their hotel room for such playful acts.

So after gaining their composure, Mike and Carrie straightened their clothing and walked back to their seats, smiling happily to each other.

The pilot came on to announce that they were about to descend to landing in Sydney, as Mike held Carrie’s hand. They didn’t realize how close they were to landing and was glad as Mike silently berated himself for being so impatient to have Carrie to himself.

Knowing what Mike was thinking, due to their bond they shared, Carrie squeezed his hand, reassuring him it was okay. They would make up for it in Sydney.

And make up for it they did!

Mike ordered room service with all of Carrie’s favorite desserts while Carrie went into the bathroom to get herself ready.

As soon as Mike tipped the bell boy and left their room, Mike hung out the “Do Not Disturb” sign on the front of their door and waited on the bed for Carrie.

It seemed like an eternity for Carrie to finish up what she was doing, so Mike grabbed the remote and clicked on the TV and decided to channel surf. Nothing good was on so Mike found himself falling asleep to the boredom.

By the time Carrie emerged from the bathroom, dressed in her white negligee, she had to arouse Mike from his slumber. But it didn’t take long to wake him when he caught a glimpse of Carrie standing beside the bed.

She was like an angel standing before him. Seeing her now, Mike was ashamed of his actions on the plane, “Why couldn’t he wait until they landed in Sydney?” Mike thought to himself.

Sensing that Mike was berating himself again, Carrie knelt down and kissed him as if to tell him it was okay. Funny how she was reassuring him—before they were married, Mike was doing the comforting? I guess it was her turn to comfort her husband.

Then it hit her like a ton of bricks to her head…this was what it meant to be in relationship? There for each other, trust each other enough to get through whatever life threw at them. Now it was Carrie’s turn to berate herself. She always knew that Mike was the right one for her, but at this moment, it was as if their relationship had blossomed into a new understanding for each other. That’s when Carrie surprised Mike with a kiss to his lips.

Epilogue: A Happily Ever After

The wedding night was the best night Mike and Carrie could ever imagined. Mike was glad that Carrie wanted to wait for their wedding to consummate their relationship. As Carrie readied herself for this night, Mike couldn’t wait to see his wife and when she emerged from the bathroom in her white negligee, Mike couldn’t take his eyes off of her.

Anticipation of this night, Mike took Carrie in his arms and kissed her tenderly on the lips. Carrie, despite being a little nervous, allowed Mike to do what he wanted as he laid her on the bed and tenderly made love to her.

After their lovemaking, Mike and Carrie happily laid back in each other arms as they looked tenderly in each other eyes. All was right with the world. They were husband and wife…and although they knew they would have trials, they committed to making this the best time of their lives.
