Chapter 5- The Chase Is On

London’s POV:

We’re sitting in Avery’s mint green bug driving to who-knows-where because we were bored out of our minds after crying hysterically because The Notebook was just so sad. To that you add Rue dying in The Hunger Games we needed an emotional break.

“How about the mall?” Avery asks.

“That’s in the next town over so hell yeah! I could get away for a little while. Why don’t we stay for the night at that cute little resort with my dad’s credit card,” I suggest.

“Sure that would be awesome,” she concedes. “How about taking some days off of school, my mom is heading out today to a business meeting in Vegas, what about your parents?

“They won’t care but let me call anyways,” I say as I grab my phone and try to lower my window at the same time. “Uhm, I’d rather not call them,” I say.

“Why?

“My phone fell out the window,” I mumble.

“What?

“My phone fell out the window,” I say louder. Like expected she bursts out laughing.

“Only you, just use mine.

“Where is it?

“Oh crap, I left it since I was in a hurry for my mom to drive us to school to pick up the car,” she explains.

“Who’s going to look for us anyway,” I deadpan and we both shrug. And I begin to plug in her iPod and look for a good song to play. When I come across Ellie Goulding’s Figure 8 I blast it. I just love this song. I lay back and begin to relax into a surprising peaceful slumber.

Aiden’s POV:

We are back home worrying sick and there’s still no word from them. We tried calling but Avery’s phone was at her house and London’s is out of service or whatever. God, where could they be?

“What if I track London’s phone?” Adrian asks.

“Can you do that?” I ask. Asher is creating holes on the floor, the twins have been asking around for them, and Aaron is thinking up something.

“Of course I can, my dad owns a cell phone franchise,” he says in a duh tone. I nod and he begins to make some calls.

“Got’cha,” I hear Aaron saying. Apparently he was waiting on a phone call. “I got them they’re on their way to the next town over according to Avery’s car gps.” We all look at him like ‘what the fuck’.

“We all have people or do I need to refresh your memories,” he rolls his eyes and looks at us pointedly. No one argues with that logic because it’s very true.

“Fine let’s stop for gas and we’ll be on our way,” I instruct. It’s kind of obvious that I’ve been the ring leader for a while but we all have minds of our own. And we always stick up for each other. With that we’re on our way to find these crazy bitches and demand what the hell they are thinking. London shouldn’t even be going on ‘adventures’.

London’s POV:

“Yep, ladies this car will need to stay in the shop for a while but there’s a rental center in the next block. I can drop you guys off there,” the mechanic informs us after finding us on the side of the road. Thankfully he brought us into town.

“No, thanks we were coming into this town actually we’ll walk from here. Again thank you,” Avery says. With that we make our way to the mall which is only around two blocks more into town. It’s a nice quiet stroll until we arrive at the mall and even though it’s Tuesday the stores are bustling with business. “How about we hit the beach later?” Avery asks recalling this town is on the coast.

“Sure, I’d like that. Maybe we can crash a bonfire,” I tell her.

“Hoodie still smells of the beach bonfire!” we exclaim together recalling Ed Sheeran’s Sofa. People give us weird looks but we could care less.

“Avery! London!” we hear someone calling our names. We turn around and find one of the richer girls that go to school with us. I say student because we don’t really talk.

“Hey guys,” she says when she’s standing in front of us.

“Uhm, hey…..” I trail off not remembering her name and feeling guilty since she knew ours.

“Oh, I’m Katya,” she introduces herself.

“Hey Katya,” Avery pitches in to which she laughs to.

“I was going to ask you guys if you wanted to come with me and a couple of my friends on my boat to the next city over,” she says seeming shy all of a sudden.

“Sure,” I say as I decide that I like Katya. She’s not stuck up like I thought she’d be. I look towards Avery to see if she says otherwise.

“Yeah, I’m up for it,” and with that Katya leads us out of the mall and to the parking lot towards her tinted Hummer.

“Nice car,” I comment as we drive towards the ferry where her boat is loaded and her friends wait. Wow, she has a boat. I wonder if I should buy one, yeah I may not be richer than these kids but that’s by choice. I happen to be richer than my parents since my grandfather, the only person who gave a shit about me, made me sole heir to his business. He owns one of the major fashion business in the industry to which no one know who’s going to take over because I’ve kept it on the down low. The only one that knows is Avery, which is why I didn’t care to spend my parents’ money as I can pay it back in a flash and ten times over. I’m just not that type of flashy person. I mean I don’t even have a car I just rather ride with my bff.

“We’re here,” Katya exclaims as we park at the private parking lot. We walk down the dock and she stops at a majestic looking contraption. Avery and I both look up in awe.

“Wow,” I say to which Katya laughs and lead us on. I have a feeling Katya is that type of cheery person but not the obnoxious kind which I’m cool with. Inside we come across three other girls that I’ve seen in school but never really talk to. The first one was a girl of average height with long brown hair cascading in waves over her chocolate brown skin opposite Katya’s medium length blonde hair and fair skin with blue eyes to her chocolate ones. Both were very pretty.

“Hi, I’m Destiny,” she introduced herself with a welcoming smile. Next to her was a petite red head that seemed hyper by the way she was bouncing on her feet.

“Hi, I’m Ruby, it’s so nice to meet you,” she said with a giggle. Her name seems to suit her hair which is a bright fire red. Her warm brown eyes seem warm and give you the feeling that there’s no prejudice. Next to her is another petite girl with long brown wavy hair and dark grey eyes.

“Hi, I’m Naomi,” she introduced. She looks like the quiet type.

“Hi, I’m Avery,” my tall exotic looking friend introduced herself. To where she was tall, tan and had brown eyes, I was tall with fair skin and light blue eyes.

“Hi, I’m London,” I introduced myself confidently. I don’t really have problems being in crowds it’s the people in the crowd that trouble me sometimes.

“Okay, now that the introductions are over we can get this party started. Just let me inform the driver that we can leave now,” she said going off somewhere in the opposite direction.

“You guys aren’t stuck up bitches are you?” I ask. Avery nudges me hard in my ribs with her elbow clearly and silently telling me to behave. She sends an apologetic smile to the other girls who just burst out laughing.

“Not at all, that’s actually the reason we stick to our group in school. We always wanted to talk to you guys and invite you over but you have this ‘don’t approach me’ aura,” Naomi explains as she sobers up from her laughing fit. What she said is true I do give off that ‘don’t approach me’ aura while Avery doesn’t but we are a complete package deal.

“So now that we got the awkward introductions over with, what are we going to do?” I ask. They turn to each other and smile as if it’s a secret code then look at us with mischievous smiles while Avery and I just look at each other as if we signed our doom.

Aiden’s POV:

“What would they be doing at a mechanic’s shop?” Ashton asks which earns him a head slap from Asher.

“What do you think they’re doing, buying ponies?” Asher asks sarcastically.

“Let’s just go find out,” Aaron says. We make our way into the shop where the mechanic informs us that two girl that indeed fit our description came in but left the car to be fixed saying that they had been headed this way here and headed out. We thank him and leave.

“Where could they have gone?” Asher asks frustrated.

“Let’s go to the rental car place lot that’s on the next block,” Athen says. We load up again and make our way through the short distance, but the owner informs that he has not rented a car all day. We thank him and make our way out again.

“Where do you go with no car?” Adrian exclaims. After that we check the mall from store to store and no trace of them. We have our resources check every hospital just in case and they also come up blank.

“I give up! I’m tired frustrated and tired. I’m just going to get the best suite at my parents resort and take a freaking break. And when I find Avery and London they are not leaving our sights ever!” he finishes off his rant. By this point we know he’s very serious and will probably have the girls on house arrest. We make our way to Asher’s resort and get the biggest suite which we share in between us. We all throw ourselves onto the oversized bed and we all fall asleep.

Beep. Beep. Beep.

I wake up to that incessant noise which I notice is my phone ringing. Who the hell is calling me at three a.m. disturbing my ‘handsome sleep’. Yeah girls have ‘beauty sleep’ I have ‘handsome sleep.

“Hello?” I answer rather brusquely.

“Uhm, sir sorry to disturb you at this time I just wanted to inform you that there are a couple of girls that fit your description who just got off a boat that crossed to the next city over from your location. They were screaming something along the lines of ‘we’re fucking this city over tonight,’” he informs me nervously.
