THAT'S THE REASON why I think every girls that I would see me in this University is glaring at me. No, I didn't just think about it! The girls are really glaring at me that if it's throwing daggers I'm positive that's I'm a dust now.

"Damn it! As in really? Why are they glaring at me?" I hissed in a whisper when I met my friends here at the Cafeteria taking our lunch.

Sarah smirk. "Because of the guy, obviously."

"College girls are insane about that, Rexy. And you taking their obviously favorite man isn't a good first day shot." Kael said while chuckling like it's funny.

They find it amusing? I can't even concentrate on the class because of the glares.

"Yup! And I'm one of those girls if you're not my friend!" Julius said in a fake angry voice. "Why didn't you even tell us you know him?"

Is he serious? I just ask him that time who's that guy right? "I don't know him I swear!" I wanted to shout but that will only attract more eyes as if everyone aren't looking at me right now.

Their eyes are piercing!

"What do you mean you didn't know? He just called your name casually and what is he saying about 'the last time' thing and he even apologize to you!"

I open my mouth to defend but I can't form the right words. What would I say? We met in a weird circumstances and that guy feel like we known each other for long? I don't even know how he knew my name!

"I don't know!" My bright answer. "He's a jerk." I added.

"He seems gentleman when he kissed your hand." Sarah said while eating her burger.

I can't even eat my fries and nachos because of this mess! And it really sucks!

"No! He's a jerk!" I insist angrily. Because of him I can't eat like a wild man, it's his fault. "I bet he knew it will happened. He got angry yesterday when I gave him attitude! Ahh, that's it! He's not used to it so he got revenge in making me uncomfortable! He did that stunt purposely." I concluded while gritting my teeth in annoyance.

"What are you saying, Rexy? You give him attitude?" Sarah ask in genuine curiosity.

That creepy jerk!

I punch the table angrily making my freinds jump. "Son of a B*tch!"

"Woah! Why are you angry?" Kael's stupid question.

I glared at him and he jumped like scared.

"I just ask you, why are you glaring at me like that?" He ask again.

"I'll make him pay." I said like a curse.

"I don't like her when she's in beast crazy mode." Julius said while shivering.

"I love her like that." Sarah said amusingly looking at me.

I survived the next few hours of class because of my dim aura, I think I scared those girls, I don't know. But when the class ended, I go to the sheriff station to look for my brother.

"Hey brother! What's up?" I saw him looking at some papers at the wide desk there.

He look up at me and suddenly packing up the papers. I gave him a curious look.

"These are evidences I'm sorry you can't see it?" He said when he saw my curious face.

"Why?" Because I've seen his other evidences before.

"It's very confidential."

"Oh, okay."

"What are you doing here?"

I'm about to answer him when I heard Layla's alive and cheerful voice.

"Rexy!" She greeted me with a hug. She's Kael's mother, the sheriff.

"Hi Layla!" I chuckled when we pulled away from each other.

"How are you?" She ask with a bright smile. "How's the first day? How's my son going?"

"I'm fine, we're fine, we had fun." I answered with a large smile. If being glared at the whole time is fine, yes! I'm totally definitely fine!

"Good, so, what's bring you here?"

"I'm just visiting my busy brother here." I look at my silent brother at the side.

"We're really talking when you interrupted us." Lukas gave her a flat look.

"Tss. You're such a cold hearted dude!" She push him playfully and chuckled. "Well, I leave you two for now, I have to pick up my baby, because my big baby had a baseball practice." She said talking about her two children.

"Okay, you take care." I wave at her when she got out of the station.

"She's a grown up woman but she acts like a teenager. She even have two sons but I felt like more mature than her." My brother trailed quietly.

"But still you like her." I teased and I saw his face becoming a little red. He's always blushing when I'm bringing that up.

"Shut up, Rexy! The woman is half my age for f*cks sake!" he scolded me.

I shook my head innocently. "Shes only 35, and you're what? 27? There's just 8 years gap."

"28." he corrected.

"Then that makes it 7 years gap. But age doesn't matter anyway. It's heart."

He rolled his eyes. "I said shut up."

"But you have a crush on her!"

"But that's it! Now shut up before I shut you up!"

I just laugh at him. When he was in high-school and he met Layla, he'd been crushing on her since that time because he said she's cool and a sheriff. I only knew about it when I accidentally heard him whispering about it to himself. That's funny and he begged me to keep it a secret. I did.

"Let's go home!" He said getting his car key at his desk.

"What?" I ask, it's too early to go home, his time out is 8 pm. "You're going home early?"

"Celine is back." He simply said and walk to go, leaving me at my place.

"Really? When?" I ask following him.

"Later tonight she'll be here."

And just later tonight we are complete family at the dinner. At times like this, I'm contemplating if we are a happy family or not. In some cases, we are happy and then it'll be chaotic and then annoying. I guess that's just how every family works.

"How's France Celine?" Dad ask Celine when the mood became serious.

I continued eating but still listening.

"Nice. My boutique is getting bigger, luckily." Celine's usual monotone voice.

"Then, what brings you home? You're not usually home unless there's something?" Jane's bad attitude.

I shook my head. Why can't she be good at least for an hour or minute even?

"Do you have something to say, Rexy?" She snap at me when she saw my disappointed look.

"Nothing, I'm just thinking where did you get that attitude." I said and smiled at her sweetly.

"And what do you mean by that?" She's getting angry now.

"Now, stop it." Mom cut the riot that's about to happen.

I just sighed. I have to be the older one because the one who's 3 years older than me seems to have lack of patience and good attitude.

"Rexy, stop putting fuel on a fire." My brother whispered beside me.

"To answer your question Jane, I'm here because my VIP is here." Celine said kindly to Jane.

"Who is it?" Mom ask.

"The heir Hayes Family."

I chocked on the water because I'm currently drinking when I heard that. I cough and cough making them all look at me. Lukas started to pat my back to help me ease it.

"You okay?" Celine ask me whole frowning.

"Yeah." when I'm finally fine.

"You're saying again, Celine?" Mom ask Celine to continue what she's saying.

"Ethan Rondelle Hayes, the Heir of Hayes Family. I'm his personal designer for his formal gatherings and he's also the one who invested in my upcoming Clothing line Company that I'll present in the public soon."

We are all stunned at what she said. Wow! She's opening a Clothing line business now not just a Boutique.

"Wow! Congratulations!" Mom exclaimed happily.

I clap my hands and they joined me, happy for Celine.

"We should celebrate then?" Dad ask while smiling widely at Celine.

"That's planned Dad, I'm throwing it at the same day when I opened the Celindress."

Celindress is maybe the name of her company.

"No! I insist. It's a big step for you so we have to celebrate as a family, just us family and not with other people." Dad said.

Celine laugh which is rarely happening. "Fine, Dad. But I want Eron to be invited."

"Who's Eron?" Dad asking confusion and suspicion written on his face.

Lukas interrupted before Celine can answer. "The Hayes Heir Dad, obviously Celine and that guy have a thing." he smirk at Celine who's now getting redder.

She's blushing? I frown at Celine who's sitting across me besides Mom and Jane.

"What are the lies you're talking about Lukas?" Celine said defensively.

"He's very rich Celine! Why would he invest in a Company that's just about to start and has no security that will have profits? He's risking his money for you. That's something." Lukas said in a matter of fact.

Jane huffed. "Don't act innocent Celine, you're even blushing."

Celine look offended and awkward. "Shut up, w-we have no relationship yet okay? Don't spoil something that's not happening yet."

"Two yets. Then there's a possibility." Mom tease her.

"I don't understand this conversation." I heard Styles mumbled by himself because he's sitting besides me in front of Jane.

I crouched to whisper at him. "Just don't mind them."

"I don't know okay?" Celine's answer to Mom. "He's sweet and gentleman, I find him handsome too but he's not asking me on a date so." She shrugged.

"Still. I have to meet this guy." Dad said in fatherly strict voice. "Besides he's Hayes Heir, we should really have to talk about some legal matters about Muein Red given the fact that he owns almost half of the City and how old is this guy? You called him Eron? How is he like?"

"He's 25 Dad, but he's still completing his last year in college because of some circumstances he stop studying for 2 years. He's intelligent and responsible, a little stiff and serious but he's kind and a real gentleman. He's a goof guy Dad, you'll like him." Celine.

"So, you really like this guy huh?" Dad teasingly said to Celine making his eyebrows up and down.

"Oh, Dad, please." Celine said but having a faint smile on her lips.

They laugh but my gaze switch to Jane who's looking at me intently. What's with her? I frowned at her.

"Speaking of that." Jane trailed smirking evilly at me. "I heard about this Hayes heir this last morning, because every students in MRU is talking about him."

Damn it!

"What is it?" Mom ask curiously.

Jane glance at me while still wearing this evil smirk of her then look back at my parents. "I heard she approach this girl and kissed her hand at the hallway."

That got all their attention, more on Celine's full attention.

"What do you mean?" Celine ask Jane eagerly.

"He knew this girl and based on what I'd heard they've met so many times and have something between them, like they're flings or what." Jane give me a questioning innocent look.

Look at how rumors go. They are exaggerated! Maybe that's the reason why all the girls are glaring at me.

"That's impossible." Celine proved. "I knew Eron for year and more now, I never seen him flirts with some girl that he just met, he's a very reserve guy."

"Then let's just ask the girl." Jane smirk at me.

They look at Jane's gaze and thier attention is now on me.

"Rexy?" Celine ask.

"We have nothing." I said defensively. "I don't even know that guy, we just met at the park and at the bookstore and that's it! I didn't even know his name, I just found out this morning! He kissed my hand and apologize for being a jerk the last time, that's all!" I said rushing every word.

"It's no big deal." Celine said and look at Jane. "Stop being such a brat, Jane."

"Bit you're threatened, right?" Jane is now smirking at Celine. "You know that this girl here." pointing at me. "Can get any giy without even trying, she just have to stay still there and guys will fall on her feet."

My eyebrows furrowed at Jane. What is she saying now?

Celine looked at Jane like she's about to hit her if she don't shut up.

Jane now looked at me. "You're just too gifted and perfect, it's annoying." she whispered but anyone can hear it.

"If you're too envy of her, maybe you should be the one to be on her shoes that night." Celine said in a cold but angry voice.

"If I had only known that it will cause perfection, I immediately step on her place." Jane reply to Celine.

I really have no idea what are they talking about.

Mom glance at me worryingly before she decided to get between the two girls.

"Stop it! Are you really talking about that f*cking nonsense? It's a serious matter!" Mom exclaimed angrily even swearing in anger.

"But admit it Celine! I know you're envious of her more than anyone else." Jane won't stop.

"Jane! You heard your mom!" Dad strictly said.

Jane just stand up and walking out of us, not saying anything else again.

"What are you even all talking about?" I ask when no one talk and the whole room became so silent. "Why would you envy me?"

"Jane just getting crazy, don't mind what are we talking about, you have nothing to do with it, she's just an asshole."

"Celine, your words." Mom look at the curious Styles besides me.

"But you just swear Mom." Styles's innocent eyes look at mom.

We laugh at that and Mom cleared her throat.

"You see kiddo, Mom has a bad mouth." Dad playfully said at Styles who laugh with us even he have no idea what's funny.

"Jonathan." Mom scolded Dad and he shut up.

"Girls are complicated Styles." Lukas said.

"Lukas." Mom called strictly.

Lukas shut up but chuckled silently with me.

I look at Celine and saw her looking intently at me before smiling. I gave her a smile too but I feel like it's an awkward one.

And the dinner end with that. See how's our Family's tables can turn suddenly?

I thought our Family's problem is just the attitude clashing of every one of us, I didn't know that's there's something running deep in them.

IT'S DARK HERE but I keep on running. I don't know why I'm running but I'm sure its not because someone is chasing me, it's because I need to go to somewhere immediately. I don't know but I can feel it.

The moonlight passes and I saw the tress surrounding me. I stop running and look around, so dark, so terrifying. The moonlight is directing its light on me.

I look at my back and saw a man standing there, he have no face but he felt familiar. He's wearing a hooded coat and normal clothes inside. He step closer to me making me step backwards. He stop his track and look up at me, The moonlight lighten a part of his eyes revealing his red bluish eyes.

I heard a scream making me look at the other direction and when I look at him again he disappeared on my sight.

I run towards the scream, at the dark forest didn't minding how dangerous it is. I stop and covered my mouth when I saw a laying woman at the dried leaves.

She's covered by blood and a part of her neck is bleeding severely, she's laying there like dead. My heartbeat is beating rapidly, I'm losing my breath and I feel my eyesight getting blurred by tears. My throat feels so dry that I can't scream in horror.

I put down my hands but saw blood in it, so many blood... dried blood.

What...

Then I saw the guy in front of the woman's body. He's full of blood and he's looking at me. I'm so scared that when I step backwards I tripped and landed on the ground.

"P-please..." I manage to say and I felt everything fell in the dark.

I opened my eyes normally and saw my ceiling. I calmly look around me and saw the familiar room, my room. I'm at my room.

I breath out and realize that's just a dream. Worst dream that I've ever had. I close my eyes again because I felt so drained. All the emotions that I felt on that dream feels so true that it still lingers on me.

My phone rang and I lazily pick it up. "Yes, this is Rexy Turner." I greeted the other line with my morning voice.

"R-Rexy..."

I get up when I heard Sarah's crying voice, she's also sobbing and her background is noisy.

"Sarah, are you okay?" I ask.

"Rexy..." She's crying so loud. "Layla..."

"Layla, what?" I felt my heart starting to palpitate.

"Layla... Sheriff Layla... She's dead, Rexy. Kael's Mom is dead." She said sobbing and crying so bad. "We saw it, Rexy. Me and Kael saw it."

I felt my breathing stop when I heard it.

"Layla is dead."
