“YOU are very lucky you know, at least you get to see him every day. You probably didn’t experience the feeling of how to miss him while I miss Vincent every day,” April said in a thrilling voice the next day when they were spending their free time at the school library.

Because of the scholarship that was granted on her by the Del Carmen Foundation, she was able to study at the most prestigious university in their town. All she needs to do is maintain her good grades to be able to graduate on her AB-English course where she is now in her second year.

“He doesn’t stay at home often. He spends more time with his friends,” Isla said and continue browsing the book that she took from the shelf.

It was when April placed a hand under her chin and pouted her lip. “His current girlfriend is our reigning Miss University, Tanya. Quite a lucky girl because she was noticed by Vincent. I wonder when he will be able to see us?” her best friend asked.

Isla bit her lower lip and sighed. She has seen Tanya countless times and it is true that she really is a knockout. Rich and sexy, it is not impossible for her to get Vincent’s attention.

“You know what, if I was in your shoes and Vincent will cook dinner for me like what he did for you last night, I might fall in love with him. How come you didn’t fell for him?”

Isla was not ready for that question so she stayed staring at April for a moment. “W-What?” that’s all she gets to say afterward.

April shook her head while laughing. “I asked you, what is your secret? It seems that you are so immune to Vincent’s charm for not falling or even having a simple crush on him?”

The young lady shrugged her shoulder casually. The truth is, what April said is the exact opposite of what she truly feels. She has been in love with Vincent for a long period of time. She decided to keep it a secret because she is scared to be judge by anyone in the end.

“Maybe because we have been together since we were little kids. We grew up together, that is why I only see him as my older brother,” it was, of course, a lie, that is why she couldn’t even make simple eye contact with April.

April opened her mouth to speak but everything that she was about to say was stopped when she saw Renz approaching them. They have been classmates since their first year in college.

“Hi, girls have you eaten already?” Renz asked smiling.

Both of them shook their heads.

“Not yet, I am actually starving” Isla admitted.

Renz smiled kindly. “Let’s go, I’ll treat you for some foods” he invited.

“Wow, you are very kind! Really kind!” said April grinning.

“Yeah, both of us are very lucky to have you!” that was true to Isla.

Renz lives with his grandmother but his permanent address is in Antipolo City. The main source of income of his family is house rental, that is why their friend actually has a good life and do not struggle financially.

He grew up and rose by his grandparents. The three of them are classmates but she is more close to the young man because they are seatmates.

There weren’t so many students inside the canteen when they entered. Isla immediately notices a table of six male students and one of them is Vincent who waved at her smiling. She just nodded and gave the young man a simple smile as a response.

In her head that is all, she wanted to say then decided to look away from the young man. Even though in the corner of her eyes, she could see Vincent following her with his gaze and that has brought so much happiness in her heart.

“My goodness, he is really handsome!” April’s thrilling voice who is unable to hide her feelings. It was only then that Isla comes back to her senses.

Isla and April choose the last table, while Renz was the one who went to the counter to order foods. A few minutes later, a familiar face enters the canteen. She got curious so she asked April who was by that time busy on her phone.

“Look, who is that student with Tanya?” she asked April.

“So the rumor about cheating is true,” April whispered.

“Cheating?” she asked with confusion.

April glanced at her. “This is not good; by the way that’s Anthony. They are classmates,” she is talking about the young man who was with Tanya.

A few moments later, because she was barely glancing at Vincent, she saw it when the young man stood up angry.

Her chest started to pound rapidly when she saw Vincent approached Tanya, and without any words, he punches the male student who is actually holding the hand of their reigning Miss University and is actually Vincent’s girlfriend.

“What is wrong with you Vincent?” Tanya screamed and stopped Vincent when the young man tried to kick Anthony who is at that moment lying on the canteen’s tiled floor.

Isla was unable to notice but soon she found herself standing next to Vincent while her hands are both holding his arm.

“We are finished, Tanya! We are done!” Vincent screamed furiously.

“Fine!” replied Tanya who left the canteen with Anthony.

“V-Vince?” Isla to Vincent whose face is red because of anger.

“What?!” he shouted as soon as he faced her.

Isla automatically felt humiliated when the young man furiously pulled his own arm from her. She said nothing and just followed Vincent with her gaze when he left the canteen. She was only brought back to her usual self when Renz approached her and leads her back to their table.
